I'm only 13 but I'm inspired to join the marines I have been working out keeping up cardio shooting guns getting up at like 4 in the morning just to be ready for when it's my turn without the military we wouldn't have any rights none so why h8 on them? My big brother aka a Semper Fi Marine was in a truck ,traveling down a road in afganastan ,with a turrent and he was in the turrent and the truck hit a land mine and the truck fliped over and he broke his back :( and 2 other marines died. And one broke all of his limbs. but My Brother survived and is now in indeana and is going to propose to his Gf. i just am so thank full that he is alive :) god bless

I am a Marine.. I am a PFC, I just got out of School of Infantry West... I can tell you USMC bootcamp is indeed harder than ANY other service. Look up other branches' boot camp. It's a joke, although some shit in the Marines got softer as well. BTW for those of you who think Marines are "dumb" Marines see the most combat, Combat is the hardest thing on this planet. Airforce is "perfect" Airforce is "smartest" What takes more, Combat or Desk Jobs? Marines Are smart, AND motivated. Unlike the AF.
I love this video, it honors some great people serving our country. It also makes me cry cuz I have a "friend" (our relationship is complicated) who just got back from boot camp and is now officially a marine. He's worked really hard, as long as I've known him he's wanted to be a marine. My senior year with him was the best, we were best friends who went to prom and ended up together, just like everyone predicted. When he's gone im gunna miss him like crazy! I love him more than he knows <3
The highschool i go to has had several guys, come back and tell us that our wrestling program made their bootcamp feel like a walk in the park so im not to worried about camp.

Has anyone noticed all of the kids posting things such as "I'm going to be a Marine in 6 years". 6 years is a hell of a lot of time to change your mind, plus the boot camp drop out rate is something like 30%. There is a person who has commented saying he will be a marine in a decade, that makes him/her at least 7 years of age.

Yes alot can change for them in the next ten years. They are proud of their father, uncles, and grandfather who all served. My kids have no clue what Call of Duty or similar games are.

@skyii123 Make sure you're mentally prepared...know your General Orders and your USMC History, also be able to run close to 5 miles and hike 8+ miles with a 60 pound pack. Being physically redy will help. I'm shipping on July 16th so I'm still preparing. But my good friends tell me that it's not an easy task. My buddy who was in India company, who is supposed to be the most ready and tough company in MCRD San Diego had a few guys who attempted suicide. So just be ready for the mind games I guess

I am a Marine.. I am a PFC, I just got out of School of Infantry West... I can tell you USMC bootcamp is indeed harder than ANY other service. Look up other branches' boot camp. It's a joke, although some shit in the Marines got softer as well. BTW for those of you who think Marines are "dumb" Marines see the most combat, Combat is the hardest thing on this planet. Airforce is "perfect" Airforce is "smartest" What takes more, Combat or Desk Jobs? Marines Are smart, AND motivated. Unlike the AF.

I love this video, it honors some great people serving our country. It also makes me cry cuz I have a "friend" (our relationship is complicated) who just got back from boot camp and is now officially a marine. He's worked really hard, as long as I've known him he's wanted to be a marine. My senior year with him was the best, we were best friends who went to prom and ended up together, just like everyone predicted. When he's gone im gunna miss him like crazy! I love him more than he knows <3

Has anyone noticed all of the kids posting things such as "I'm going to be a Marine in 6 years". 6 years is a hell of a lot of time to change your mind, plus the boot camp drop out rate is something like 30%. There is a person who has commented saying he will be a marine in a decade, that makes him/her at least 7 years of age.

Yes alot can change for them in the next ten years. They are proud of their father, uncles, and grandfather who all served. My kids have no clue what Call of Duty or similar games are.

@skyii123 Make sure you're mentally prepared...know your General Orders and your USMC History, also be able to run close to 5 miles and hike 8+ miles with a 60 pound pack. Being physically redy will help. I'm shipping on July 16th so I'm still preparing. But my good friends tell me that it's not an easy task. My buddy who was in India company, who is supposed to be the most ready and tough company in MCRD San Diego had a few guys who attempted suicide. So just be ready for the mind games I guess
