That's true, but not entirely. Some dubstep songs incorporate 2 step beats. This is more prevalent in the earlier style.

@iloveshenaegrimes if your talking about length its only 2 bars... 4 beats = 1 bar in a 4/4 time signature which this is.. but in the upper left hand corner that box with the " -- " to start click and drag up to the number 8 to have a 2 measure aka. 2 bar pattern length. 4 beats in the step sequencer isn't 4 blocks but rather 4 color changes between the red and grey, each individual block is a 1/16 note in 4/4 time signature =)

@iloveshenaegrimes it's alright man everyone start's somewhere and me having took lots of Band classes back in the day certainly doesn't hurt my knowledge of time signatures and shit... but to get more channels you can left click and drag from your sample library (hot key = f8) or for a synth at the top where you go File>Save go Channels > Add One

Fl studio is PISSING me OFF!! when I stop a beat it still continues to play and it doesn't stop until after 15-20 seconds. I also have tons of problems with the beats not playing fully-- they just repeat when the beat hasn't even finished! someone plz help! :(

@RubberDucksPWN hmm you probably have something that you forgot to delete in your piano roll which ended up on the sequencer . either that or you have the release cranked way to high on your synths so it keeps going... sometimes the automation recording past the audio in earlier FL will not loop a pattern but keep playing

@TateOfBass well with stock fl synths its a bit hard

some synths have a keytrack option on the lfo speed or allow you set one up in the mod matrix but generally that goes low note

s a slow high notes are fast... not sure if you can change it... or duplicte your synth and set them at diff speeds, which sets you up for the talking synths if you have em all diff sounds =D

Hey man, I'm a new viewer, and your videos are really helpful. I just wanted to suggest that you make your vocals quite a bit louder or turn down the music volume, because I find myself turning up my volume to hear your commentary and then down when the music (and that explosive snare ;P) comes in.

Also, you've got a good sense of rhythm, especially with your inclusion of ghost-notes (I think you called them 'stutters', but I'm just going by a drummer's vocabulary). Thanks and take care!

@VelospaceProductions man dubstep is fucking hard to produce. people think because it doesnt have super complicated chords and progession that its just wob wob wob... but you have to make the different sounds play off each other with the right pitch . you really have to have the right ear to make the LFO wobble in sync with the whole track. its easier to throw down a shitty trance beat or something than it is to make an audible dubstep track.

@PositiveTension505 Swing doesnt have much of an effect at 1/4 you dont really need to change it but it can have a slight change to the shuffle of your drums if you try it at full swing and no swing you should hear a change if not im not sure.
