@edsheadsaid no, it's not a judo match for several reasons:

1) they are wearing BJJ style gi (with stickers, advertisements, sponsors, etc) Many official judo competitions do not allow this.

2) There are no side refs (all official judo competitions must have 2 additional refs in opposite angles)

3) flying arm bars are not allowed in Judo competition.

4) no ippon (official declaration of a win in Judo) was mentioned by the ref.

1) judo and BJJ both have very similar style of gi and yes they do allow wearing w/ sponsor ads (good example is Korean judoka Won Hee Lee, he always wears his gi with sponsor ad)

2) olympic judo has 3 referees but its not mendatory. for more info, go to judo4all.eu/7648/

3) flying arm bar is ALLOWED. it is called hold.

4) ippon part is just cut, there was ippon.

It's a BJJ comp, BJJ rules on Judo mats. Even look at the background, the rest of the competitors are fighting on the ground the whole fight, in a Judo comp they would have been stood up.

Another thing, do you hear any mention of hajime? the ref clearly says FIGHT! Plus the half Brazilian flag on the gi and the yellow and green belt which you wouldn't wear in a Judo comp.

This is not Judo bro, I have fought in NAGA. And I am about to start competing in Judo as well so I am familiar how it works. If he ran around like that in formal Judo he probably would of gotten in trouble. And the referee would not raise hand like that. You stand face to face and hte referee in between. ANd he will motion his hand towards the winner.

@BangingAllDay under ijf rules you are not allowed sponsorship or ANY kind on your gi or belt, and flying juji-gatame was banned some years back, late 90's i believe. also 1 referee and 2 corner judges are what you will find at any judo competition. how are you supposed to call hantei with only 2 referee? this is clearly not a judo competition.

@pcjudosambo I agree that this wasn't a Judo match but still, just to clarify a common mistake. 'Ippon' does not indicate the end of a fight. A fight goes on until the ref declares 'mate!' Many skilled competitors have already lost their fight because they stopped fighting after one of the three refs was going for an ippon while the other two didnt agree with him. The fight went on and eventually, they lost.

They are both BB judokas, you can see it in the grip fighting and upright posture. BJJ and Judo is quite the 1337sauce.
