  • impressive

  • IDC how awesome you think this is.....there are thousands of ppl that can do it....do it standing still, seated, or off one step and I'll be much more impressed simply b/c you did it the correct way. This is like watching a 500 pound bench press with the guys entire back and ass off the bench and calling it amazing....

  • song? :L

  • i guarantee you the people who post negative comments about this can not do what he did...very good!

  • Impressive!

  • its still good but thats not super impressive Still good tho!

  • what was the point in this

  • everyone saying a true one its done from a dead start, FUCK THAT THIS ITS STILL AWEZOME XD

do this and they say that!

  • A true box jump is not done with a running start.

  • what a retard, thats not how you do it!

  • y would u run up to it u could fall

  • someone give me a play-by-play of what would happen if he didnt get it :)

very impressive also. i know i could never overcome fear for it yet alone have the physical ability lol

  • WOW!!!! I can do that TOO!!!!

  • watch?v=SSQcDvTdtTo&feature=related ..this dude took like..2 big steps and then jumped..

  • does this go into the anus? I cant seem to fit it inside my penis.

  • hi guys im 5"9 and i can do 45" box jump for like 5 reps but i cant even touch the rim whys tat?

  • @liudxdx jumping technique

  • My friend in high school (he was ~16y old) high jumped like this 165 cm (he was unable to learn any of the high jump techniques so he jumped like the guy on a video)...

  • Well I can't do it so I'm not going to trash talk about running, personally I've done jump tests both ways with athletes and both standing and running are shitty power tests if you read the literature (peer reviewed not Muscle and Fitness). Fucking impressive by any standards.

  • lol do u kno how easy it is to run and jump?

try just stand and jump? this video shows no skill whatsoever.

  • great jump!

  • fucking gay

  • try not running man it'll be more impressive

  • not impressed... jump from a stand still

  • fucking brutal

  • Thats sick man. Ill send ya a good explosive exercise for chest and arms.

  • Even though it was a running start which isn't a standard box jump, it is very impressive!

  • parkour

  • run from the parking lot next time!

  • you fucking nerds shut the fuck up, stop nagin' and go do that kinda jump yourself!

  • thats not 62 inches go type in joe defranco 54 inch box jump he does it from standing to!

  • Good and

    look my jump :)

    watch?v=adVKewhAYhE

  • I could jump on the moon from earth, with only two steps... to board the rocketship

  • it would be better if you just jumped not run up

  • i did like 58 and im in 9th grade....

  • yeah explosive box jump..

  • i weigh 142 and squat 380 and bench 225. pretty decent in my books lol

  • you fucking muck wtf this is shit stand still

  • not a box jump..

  • yeh when we do this we stand still and do like 1.5m ish

  • regardless if he runs or not it's still very impressive. He could probably do 55+ from a stand still. Also if his sport doesn't require him to start from a static position at all, then there is no point in doing a lot of static start work. With sports like volleyball and basketball you are always using momentum and steps to get height.

  • Dont run...proper box jump is from a flat stance.

  • i weigh 155 squat 375 and my 1RM for benching is 185. I'm only 14 I'll post videos if i got the time. (or a camera)

  • You're not supposed to run

  • Hi, SuperJump2010, on YouTube, Im jumping 4 & 1/2 feet in the air, amazing over 1000 views

  • it doesnt count if you run at it. check out defrancos training 54in box jump

  • impressive, so what workouts do you do ?

  • lmfaooo @ the song being " you can hate me now" lmaooooo

  • aaaand that's not a box jump - retitle it brotherr.

  • the proper way to do it is to start from a standing position. however, i really dont care unlike other. either way we would still be able to do it. thats vertical energy, not horizontal getting him up.

  • but a running start gives him more energy

  • Look up the term "Blocking" it's a 'gymnastics' technique to turn horizontal momentum into vertical momentum. He's able to utilize that run to get him height.

  • you can convert that horzontal movement to vertical. You can create a skeletal/muscular ramp, you ever see a car/bicycle/motorcycle go off of a ramp into the air? they start horizontal and then go vertical

  • so what if hes running at it thats impressive like

he'll still be able to have a higher jump than most people from a stand still i bet

  • impressive, but gotta agree w/ 1JPIFF...supposed to be done from a standing position jumping straight up onto the box.

  • Also not just from a standing start, but it must be barefootand on concrete. No springy shoes allowed, no springy floor allowed.

  • You don't run up to it. Its a from a standing start to test explosiveness.

  • maybe he is running at it however its a good test of your strength progressing if you are doing it for sprinting at only the start do you stand still the rest is peed of contraction.

  • i WANT to see him clear it

  • Nice!

  • Yeah you're not suppose to run up to these, it's suppose to be standing. I've seen dudes at defranco's do 58" just standing.

    sucks for you, bro.

  • post your video hoss i wanna see you jump 58" standing

  • Cause I said it was me, right? I'm not up to 58" yet obviously, but I'm not gonna run for it, cause that's not how you do it, pal.

  • don't be hating, boy still has hops

  • so do most people when they have a nice long running path.

  • sure buddy, you're overestimating the general population

  • never said general population. anyone that does these right, doesn't run for it. that's what i was getting at. not my fault people do these wrong. oh well.

  • whats his body weight? Squat? Deadlift?

  • Very impressive, don't listen to the guys telling you what could have made it even more impressive. Giant achievement.

  • It's impressive, but not so impressive that you're running then jumping. If you were at a stand still and did this then major props to you, your vertical must/would be huge. However, you had to run to get momentum to carry you forward and up.

  • superman o.0

  • what a loser he has to run up to it

  • its impressive either way.

  • how the hell do you train for that. i want to do that

  • lol lier!!

  • aight then ill take a vid by the end of dis year of me doin that see wat u say then niggas!!!!!!!!!

  • No you don't.

  • I'll put your badge in the mail...

  • he had a fucking run up!!!

  • No one said vertical you stupid uneducated son of a bitch. Stop being racist, first of all, and second of all, read. It says "62 inch double box jump"... where does it say vertical leap? Stop being a dumb ass, I hope you go break your head open. Have a nice fucking day.

  • It's kind of hard to believe people like you still exist.

  • 1) I'm white haha 2) if you can do better post it online fool. I have done a regular vertical before ...this is a BOX JUMP not a VERTICAL jump with the sticks. No one is lying its a video tape...

    get a life

  • u should be standing not running

... bet you cant do it without running

  • yah man your not supposed to run especially from the distance you were running from

  • u cant jump for shit do it stationary

  • It should be done stationary in front of box, or squatting on a box then jump.....Not TAKING 6 TO 8 STEPS!

  • Holy crap man! Nice jump! You got some hops!

  • Thanks!

  • Why do internet experts ALWAYS have to point out the mistakes rather than just saying "good job"? Seriously, why bother? True...he is NOT doing a traditional, start from a dead standstill box jump....but he is jumping onto boxes...what is he supposed to call the video?? And if his previous record on this exercise is LESS than 62" then guess what..he is making progress IN THE GYM..which is way more important than internet post counts.

  • Because people always insist that they are breaking records and whatnot.

  • i can do 1543" and im 3

  • not considered an actual box jump unless you're at a stationary start. aka, dont take a running jump.

  • it would be impressive if you did it from a dead start not with a running start.

  • @kerley1992 First let's see you do that...

  • @kerley1992 its still impressive lets see you doing this

  • i cant even do 10''

  • lol Please say your lying

  • nah Ive never tried actually

  • i always thought that u needed to atleast. squat 2x times ur bodyweight to manage to jump so high, that would make sense.. hehe, can i ask u how much u squat and bodyweight? =) nice man!

  • good work, what's ur squad rutine?

  • Yeah man I weigh 182 and squat 450

  • @vtmike26 no way you can, you must be cool. can i see the video

  • Never seen someone do a real box jump with a running start....

  • try it w/o takin a damn runnin start! its pointless to take 6 steps!

  • ur supposed to do a box jump with no running start...but still this guy is really good. i can get like a 48 and im 14

  • come talk to me when you can get 70"

  • Got any videos?

    Didn't think so.

  • obviously the momentum of running helps him get that high. still impressive, but Id like to see how high he could go from a standstill....

  • I agree this is with a running start, everyones vertical is higher with a running start. How high can he jump from a standing position i would guess around the 30's

  • He would easily be in the 40s on a static box jump, pretty much anyone should be able to get 36inch standing box jump it's not hard. High 50s standing box jump is impressive. Running 60 is pretty good though.

  • wow its a pretty good jump. but i definitely think that a box squat, depth jump, or standing (while throwing arms up+down) are probably the best to do in the context of a workout.

  • who gives a fuck if hes running i bet u pussies cant even do a quarter of that

  • HE'S RUNNING! DOESN"T COUNT!

  • Comment removed

  • yeah it would be better without a running start like your supposed to do anyways.

  • looks effortlesss

  • I want to know his standing and running vertical. I am currently also doing box jumps except that I do sts program by going down from the box and also jumping up to the box. Mad props to this guy I bet he can dunk. Post a dunk video dude

  • think thats good? u should see the defranco's guys who do 55+ from stationary

  • put some videos with you dunking i wanna see how you look in the air. props!

  • In ordinary highjump using "flop" style you use mostly one leg. If you use both you can jump higher. I don't know how they do it but it's a fact. With the power from both legs and a good technique you can jump higher than with ordinary "flop" technique.

  • That was high!! Good job!!

  • why is everyone a hater?

this guy makes it look easy, mad props!

    see how soft he lands!

    skills.

  • not impressive with a running start.

  • Haha, like as if you could even get close you jealous piece of shit. :D

  • lol, actually I could...I worked with WVU strength and Conditioning when we had Mike Barwis...one of the best strength coaches in the US and I did his program, and I could EASILY jump onto that box..hell, u probably could.....

  • Regardless if me and you can do it or not, it doesn't make it unimpressive just considering he makes use of a running start.

  • True true....that is kinda nasty that he has such a clean landing, and he doesnt seem that tall to begin with

  • It still is doing some work but, no not impressive with a running start. at that height maybe take one step. But hey he achieved HIS goal so more power to ya.

  • no your not suppose 2 get a running start

  • cheating...

  • are you suppose to get a running start?

  • wat is the music playin in backround.

  • won't stop now-- Nas

  • Hate Me Now -- Nas

  • thanx so much.

  • holy fk the first 2 jumps looked so easy for u

  • white men can jump

  • Men can jump in general.

  • hes gettin a rnning start tho

  • dayum

  • i dont care about the the running start that is impressive and you look like you have another foot in you if you could find a higher box. i've been doing standing jumps to a 48 inch box as part of defranco's training and it is sick for building power. wolf, echo, out

  • it is possible to jump flat-footed, type in James Rysaac and check out his video

  • I do a standing 50 inch box jump

  • well at least while running it makes the jump less scarier

  • This isn't that impressive. You only need like.. a 30 inch vertical to do this.

  • makes you feel better saying 60 ;P

  • I can actually make a much high jump from a run, so perhaps it is different for different people.

  • wtf thats bull shit, running does make a difference. You build momentum and speed to carry you.. dumass. Why the fuk you think its much more comfortable to run and jump than to just jump??

  • take geometry again. it does matter.

  • You sir are an idiot. I hate whenever 12 year old kids go on youtube and start posting shit on what they think is true. IF YOU RUN YOU GET A HIGH VERTICAL UPON LIFT. That is why there are 2 different verts. Standing, and running. Dumbass.

  • did you ever take a physics class? Adding speed to your jump definitely increase your ability to jump higher...you can't stand and jump as high as you can running

  • how bout this...go to davis training systems page...check out how they jump on high boxes without cheating!!

  • You can't "cheat" gravity, I'm sorry. It would be quite hard...if we all could do it like you could Semo55jk, the world would be considered a gravity defying Utopia.

    Rock n roll to highflyers.

  • actually frank yang does it quite easy watch his videos.

  • try standing right in front of it and then do it. thats pussy shit. ur cheating yourself by running.

  • yeah thats impossible to jump on a 62 inch box flatfooted...sorry about it

  • No it isn't.

I'm 5' 9" and can jump onto maybe a 58" from a stand without hardly any specific training.

I will try to get 62 inches from a stand on video for you (might take me a bit)

  • He's a cheerleader, I swear.

  • haha not a cheerleader!
