no it doesnt have a ford motor, that is a mazda/mitsubishi/porsche motor. mazda made the probe for ford.

my mx-6 has a probe gt motor in it.

same thing only difference is the extra vac sensor. its a direct swap

the MX6 has a Mazda engine, sorry. The 2.5L KL engine is all Mazda. It existed before the Duratec 2.5 (and all subsequent duratec V6) came to market. In fact the Duratec 2.5 is based off the Mazda KL, betcha didnt know.

mattiaccim, Mitsubishi has nothing to do with the engine. They only supply the solenoids, alternator and maybe some other small parts.

@veltpak6 ok, like i said, mazda/mitsu/porsche, the forged crankshaft is indeed proced by porsce...betcha didnt know that, and i know more about mazda motors than you can think of. both motors do have 60 degree bank angles but kl's have shorter stroke. but a higher bore...which is the shittt lol

yeah the vac sensors, selenoids, alternator, starter, distributor, and a couple other parts on the klde are mitsbubishi.

@uploaded113redone Mitsubishi makes tons of parts for OEMs. There is no Vac (MAP) sensor on the KL, only a VAF meter, which is Denso. Mitsubishi and Denso are the major Japanese component suppliers for many OEMs, like Bosch is. On some K-series V6 like in the Millenia/MS8, the alternator is Denso. I think Denso makes a better part IMO, the mitsu parts fail often.

@veltpak6 Just a quick correction. On the Kl motors through the years 1998 to 2002 they do in fact have MAP sensors which also came with MAF. Two advantages to the obII the obdI doesnt have.
