You are both right. The butterflies are sipping the liquid from the mud, extracting the nutrients and then rapidly excreting the access fluid out of their anus!
hmm well i was cool with that answer but my brother said "they were secreting a liquid from their ass" perhaps the nutrients were just on the exit stage
