How to fix a DVD drive's tray that doesn't open or eject

Such A Really Easy Fix! I didn't have to watch the video and I was just reading the comments. I had little rubber bands that I had bought for my hair from the dollar tree just in my bathroom! They are the ethnic little black rubber bands for African American hair ect. They come in a big pack and you get a lot for a dollar! Easy Quick fix since I have had experience with removing and taking apart disk drives!

i agree with brudaine i had this problem this morning and this video is great and i like how he explained it because he tells you exactly the kind of rubber band you need and i would recommend that you buy rubber bands assorted sizes they sell them at CVS or Walmart. I love youtube its best place to go for fixing problems A+++

That problem may also be caused by dried drive teeth. I lubricate my drives with rifle oil

dude your the best, it totally worked and the rubber in the dvd was so damn hard, i didnt know rubberes got like tht :P. i have one question though, evrything is working fine but sumtimes, the dvd drive, the light keeps on like it repeats itself. It happened alot when i was just finished with the process but now only sumtimes with like a double repeat? whats causing tht?

The right belts are hard to find...

Remove the tray motor and sand out the motor bay in the DVD frame and it's screw holes. To allow the motor's position to be adjusted and the belt tensioned.
