I am from Russia and I am candidate master of sports in both sambo and judo. We don't have classical judo school in Russia, all beginners there are trained basic techniques by sambo training methodics, and then, if they reach higher level, they choose to specialise in Judo or SAMBO. Still, many choose to participate competetions in both sports

i agree that he will be a champion, im expecting his name to feature heavily in the top 10 HWs starting very soon. but i am slightly worried about his ground skills, given the werdum fight. granted werdum is a master on the ground. aleks has the ground skills to deal with mid-level fighters, but if he wants to take his rightful place in the top ten, i think his ground skills against top-tiet comp are the only things thats gonna hinder him.
