holy scramp i did not even notice the backgroud music i was to buy learning to care!
but now that i knotice its there is no problem with it it brightens up the video and lightens the mood to a more casule lerning experiance. thanks dave.
congrats on having the first great guitar lesson vids ive seen you actually have your stuff together thanks for the vids again. its so nice to find these videos now , when before all ive seen is posers. great show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job and thanks for taking the time to impart your talent and experience with us. I have to disagree however about people trying out a new guitar and nothing coming out. I've been to GC too many times not to wish that was the case.
This was a good topic to go with. I was just watching Tommy Emmanuel rip it up on acoustic so it was nice to see an insight into how to improvise unaccompanied playing.
I always get confused when I start adding more than 1 chord in - guess I just need to learn my neck better; get out of the boxes and shapes and into the notes.
very nice lessions my friend ... but i hope you start to send riffs from next week cause this things name is riff of the week ... btw the lessions are awesome .. but the point here is RIFF !! thx
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, and I respect that, but I think you may have overlooked the fact that Dave demonstrated some VERY COOL riffs as the "fills" in between the Em7 rhythm/chord-accompaniments!
Well, he did show us a riff ! A rythmic one ! But he did ! And btw, if you're not satisfied, you should just leave the place. This was way more interesting than a riff. Because this shows you how to create your own riffs. It's better than just covering what others did. Don't you think so?
I prefer when Dave introduces his take on different concepts and leaves us to adapt them for our own ends. Miles more fun than just learning someone else's riffs ;)
I think for a bit the background music is ok, but after that the volume should really go down. I dunno, it just seems to get in the way, especially, for example, when you play that first chord. Maybe it's just me though. Love the stuff Dave.
The riff has a nice singer song writer ala Mayer/Matthews feel to it. I wouldn't mind hearin a laid back instrumental song like this on an up comming album.
YT takes a while to format these big files into HD quality. So when it's first uploaded, it's not going to look good. Give it time, and it shows up in HD.

RIFFOFTHEWEEK DUDE! Why don't you record a DVD on solo playing? or two or 10 :p
You know... where you show some methods on speed picking, soloing, harmonics etc.
I would buy that!

I totally agree with you on the backgrund music. It was kind of annoying.

Noted - I always found background music to interfere, but alot of people like it.. so I'm experimenting.

Hey Dave,
Ive noticed youve mainly been using your strat and LP for the last few riff of the week sections
Just wondering where your LACS 7's are or if youre waiting on a new one?
