    like in French or Japanese?

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!! The LORD bless you!!!

  • They are not acutal words? At first thought the first one might be 'abba' or 'father'...

(I just know that from bible)

  • @kralyk311

    Yes, abba is father.

  • I'm learning my aleph beit gimmels!

  • i wanna learn hebrew it sounds soooo nice and pure :D

  • אני כבר יודע עברית

יפה מאוד שאתם לומדים את השפה

Arabic is Twice harder than Hebrew. you'll see. there are more rules in Arabic than in hebrew.

  • @someone2121996 they acquired hebrew from Arabic

  • @someone2121996 give me a beak I leatned italian and spanish and portugais and hangarian on youtube

arabic is easy the arabic rules are cartesian and it writing easier than hebrew 3 voowel souds and could be used as an art ; if you need to learn arabic in spanish or englesh or german I have nothing but free time

hebrew is a dead language all dead languae are dificult they are kind of paradoxal languages , like latin

    God it hard

  • @riadtel22

By defintion, a dead language is a language that no one speaks.

However, Hebrew has over 15 million speakers and over 5 million native speakers.

    How is it dead?

  • @idan111 So according to yr definition latin isn't a dead language

it was always spaken in the vatican and always learned until now

was the officiel language in many contries

although' latin is a dead , ( gread linguistique had said so) and so hebrew is dead

  • @riadtel22

Did I even remotely refer to Latin?

Although you're wrong on that too, Latin is not dead as people still speak it.

Any language that still has speakers is not dead, near-extinct languages are languages with less than 20,000 people speaking them. Tell me this, though.

How can Hebrew be dead if it has official status in a country and is spoken by millions?

"gread linguistique had said so" Yeah, I bet, and his name?

  • @idan111 great I made a mistake it isn't gread

I am not sicussing it with you ; I am telling this

latin and hebrew heve been already classified as dead languages ( the paradoxal things is a good prouve)

yes it is spoken in israel , (a part of this hebrew came from english and frensh and arabic some words have been taken in the dict/ry ) tothe native english speaker 's manner in the mdern hebrew makes gradualy a dialect even taht those words 'd be found in the dic/ry

    thanks

  • @riadtel22

Hebrew is classified as a dead language by whom? You keep spouting stuff like that without citing the source, like the so-called 'great linguist' who said Hebrew is dead.

"Extinct as a regularly spoken language by the 4th century CE, but survived as a liturgical and literary language; revived in the 1880s"

    Extracted from Wikipedia.

The key word here is 'revived'.

And AGAIN, how can a language be dead if it has over 5 million native speakers?

Are you being retarded on purpose?

  • @idan111 well the key is that hebrew is a dead language as a language but it is more like a dialect

latin have a contry too it is vatican and it was one of the greatest language of the word ,

but dead not in the definition of spoken and native speaker but the paradoxal in the gramar and the vocabulary

...a lot of things that shows so .

  • @riadtel22

So are you saying all native Hebrew speakers are illiterate in their native language?

  • hi, thank you for this lesson, I'm muslim and arab, I like Hebrew

    I find your lesson excellent.

  • @TheHajaros I like hebrew too

  • i love hebrew

  • It's brilliant, i've just found this! wish i'd found it sooner, as I've been wanting to learn Hebrew for years. I just adore israel, it's just sooooo SPECIAL, my favourite place.

    Thanks Bneior.

  • awesome! thank you very much!!!

  • Thank you very much. You're very clear.

  • what sounds does dalet and gimmel make?

  • @sunsetsunflower Dalet's sound is "d" as in David. Gimmel's sound is "g" as in Goat (not as in George).

  • @mrutimann thaaanks :) this videos are awesome

  • i thought it was pronounced gehmeel and dahlet

  • I have a question.....Why are there two different vowels if they sound the same?

  • the second letter of alphabet should read it as Beyt not Veyt.

in Israel we dont say Veyt

  • @4rRising Yeah, 'Veyt' isn't used here.

But people who don't know Hebrew have to know the "special" letters, or nikud, or however you want to call it.

  • gracias. thank you!!!

  • THANK YOU

    GREAT TEACHER!

  • thank you very much for the really useful lessons but my question is since the petach & kamatz sound the same why do we have both?

  • take it from a native Hebrew speaker - leave the letters for later, start with grammar and vocabulary.

  • thanks for the videos

  • is this ashkenazi hebrew or the hebrew they speak in isreal? Ashkenazi hebew has roots in europe.

  • It's more of an American accent. Not Ashkenazi. Maybe more Sephardic.

  • @baliantheprotctr no in isreal

  • it was great....its helpin me alot. TODA

  • the Gimmel means camel in arabic

  • WE NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TALK

  • You can't learn that until you now the letters.

  • @ManRic2

What you mean to say is, "We need to know how to speak."

  • @MrDogbert2 run a conversation, like when you meet someone speaks Hebrew you will be able to communicate, do you still do not know what is "speak" is?

  • FAITH in Hebrew is written like that:

    גורל

    good luck =]

  • Is it modern Hebrew?

  • excellent lessons, I can't believe how much I'm learning. Thanks!

  • Eu gostei muito !

  • I am wanting to get a tattoo of the word FAITH in hebrew. But ive heard so many stories of how people have had stuff written wrong. So what is the right way to write it?

  • I guess it's none of my business and I'm not an expert on Scriptures, but it seems the Torah may be telling us it is forbidden to get tatoos. Sone say that just pertains to some old pagan practices and ways of tatooing. Don't know.

    Just fyi.

  • P.S. Also, this alphabet is not the true, original, Hebrew. It is what developed after the Israelites came out of the Babylonian captivity. If you decide you do want to get a tatoo, you might want to check out how to spell it with paleohebrew. Per my understanding that is the language Moshe/Moses wrote in.

  • אמונה

  • Yeah plz tell us what's the difference between Petach and Kamatz...

Also what difference does the Aleph at the end of a word? I mean, vet (with kamatz) followed by aleph would it be Va, just as if there's no aleph, or you say va'?

  • That's right, they does have the same sound when you say it, no one really notice to it (I'm from Israel too. Even I'm old 13 XD)

  • Toda Raba!

  • whats the difference between kamatz and petach if they sound the same??

  • beats me

i think its sommat 2 do with the grammar

  • I too think it has something to do with the grammer.

Also, it's pronounced different in the Ashkenazi accent, that I heard.

  • it's very nice...BUT

    isn't the good pronuncation =/ ...

I will reply with a movie later, when i will say how pronounce this letter.

  • I have the same question about the difference between Kamatz and Petach. It seems that Petach is a long sound and Kamatz a short one.

  • Thank you very much !!

  • thank you so much i havnt gone to hebrew school since my abba died and i wanted to get back into the lanuage and i had forgotten alot of my lessons and these have made them so clear for me ... thanks

  • this is so help full thank you very much

  • These lessons are very helpful for beginners like me. I found out not too long ago that I am part Jewish on my dad's side. If one is not careful to preserve one's heritage, then it can be lost (or almost lost, in my case) for good. From that time on, I've been doing many things to learn about my new Jewish heritage. Every little bit helps. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much bneior! You obviously spent a lot of time on this and I thank you. I purchased a Hebrew grammer from Zondervan. The workbook spent one page to the alphabet and goes right to work! I was at a loss when it came to sounds and subtle differences in letters. Also, who writes print? You lessons have been so helpful thanks again.

  • I am just starting Hebrew and unfortunately don't have many people to ask questions. Thank you for these lessons.... If the kamatz and petach sound the same, why does one have two vowel symbols?

  • I don't know if you received an answer yet but here goes! As a language ages it changes and some letters that used to be pronounce in a particular way are no longer prounced, or they have been changed to a similar sounding letter in the alphabet. Just check out the Greek language especially the vowels and examine how they changed over time but yet today they sound the same, the same is true for some of the consonants.

  • so it means that there is no difference in the sound or the meaning?

  • Please don't forget that when the language was first written down there was a difference in the sound.

If two, or more words, sound the same then context is considered, when read the words are spelled differently.

Hebrew, like any other language in the world, is not pronounced uniformly by all. If you come from Europe, Africa, America, or any of the Middle Eastern countries Jews pronouce Hebrew a little differently.

Just look at English! West, Southern, Eastern and many more accents.

  • allright, thank you

  • so far as I know

    kamatz is long vowel (longer)

    petach is short vowel

  • thank you a lot for this!

    todah rabah!!

  • Many thanks; I'm a 41 year old Bat Mitzvah candidate & this was very helpful! :)

  • thank you very much for this lesson

  • this is the best comment I've ever heard!
