k so this only gets 15mpg in city and highway which cost about 50-60 grand, the regular f 150 gets 13mpg city and 18mpg highway that cost about 30-40 grand!
@dpin96 depends on how long your going to own it and how much driving your going to do. but in all fairness the new 5.0 is a great upgrade from old 5.4 triton. and fyi you can get 3.5 in a basic xl 20-25k

@dpin96 The mileage is better than that and in the end you save money on gas. Right now it might not make sense, but it will as prices keep going up. I heard somewhere this ecoboost engine gets 20-25MPG.
In my opinion, automobile companies should build a CD Player with input/output (yellow, blue, red, brown, green) so that Quality Sound fans wont have to damage their factory $45,000 center console. It looks much cleaner also. If we can attach the amplifier directly to the factory deck, that would be awesome! DON'T DAMAGE YOUR INTERIOR!!
All I've got to say is, What took them so long to build this? I think they believe that truck buyers are very backward, which they probably are to an extent, but there's a lot of existing technology out there that would greatly improve trucks that just hasn't been implemented. Turbo charging (finally) and hopefully smaller diesels will be around the corner.
ecoboost sounds great in theory and it performed well in ford's tests but I find it hard to believe that a truck owner who uses the truck for TRUCK purposes would think that a smaller v6 with twin turbos would be a better option. Less displacement and more complex... that doesn't sound like what you want in a truck. TT's also means less people will be able to work on their own vehicles now. And if and when those turbos crap out hauling a load.. good luck getting anywhere with no boost in a v6
@ironaddict11 ... why dont you just come right out and say ... "i wont buy one, but ill hate the idea as much as possible anyways" some people need the capability of the truck maybe 1% of the time and 99% want better mileage or maybe having options is what business is all about, so people who are hesitant about new motors can buy a good ole V8 ... sounds like a great idea, but then again i guess you know better than ford
@ironaddict11 when testing the eco boost they ran it at full throttle simulating a load for 150000 miles then ran it in the baja 500 and some other tests
I tried them all, and even the base 3.7 V6 is impressive. Of course, it won't pull like the Ecoboost, but it gives a hell of a ride. In the drag race, I was even with a Hemi... Ok, maybe he had a bad start, but anyway, I was not supposed to be there! But with 305HP, it did the job!
I saw some bad wheel hop...I have built up my 5.4 3v and its making about 400 hp and 450 tq and also has a 3000 stall...well...that wheel hop cause my drive shaft to warp and bend..and had to replace it. I don't know how to stop the hop!
If you notice the wheel hop came after the tires has been spinning for a while and they were starting to really dig into the pavement. When the tires start to dig in and you have that much rotating mass something has to give and that's why the tire will start to bounce. It's biting into the surface and break loose in wrapped succession.
Power breaking shouldn't be something you do on a regular basis and like any other abusive behavior you are going to start breaking things.
On 2-21-11 I test thrashed, er drove a 2011 EB F-150 platimun SuperCrew AWD. AMAZING!!! the turbo lag is now minimal. The acceleration was like that Space Shuttle, It just kept pulling HARD!!The Platinum was quiet and very comfortable. Plan to buy one in May or June, if I am still employed.
Quite a bit of wheel hop on that burnout...

@HELLBOY0180 if you are talking about reliability, i think the most reliable is the 2003-2004 expeditions as far as i know

@cb7pwn You are very right the 0-60 doesn't matter no one buys trucks for speed anyway just reliability and towing capacity and occasionally mpg
