Keith Moon didn't invent double bass like everyone seems to think. Two jazz drummers did in the 1940's by the name of Ed Shaughnessy and Ray McKinley. Keith Moon wasn't even really good at double bass drumming.

Well sorry but Lars lacks all of the thigns you summed up. Look at Nicko McBrain, look at Neil Part. Those drummers have a style, are original. And McBrain can do Lars' stuff with one foot while making a phone call and tellign jokes to the crowd. Lars isn't bad alltogether but hey, I can do his stuff and I consider myself an average drummer. He is (well was, before the Black Album) a good songwriter, and his compositions are far more impressive than his drumming skills. Period.
