Mickey sounds better and may I say, looks better, than ever. I have been a big fan of his since the late seventies early eighties. I saw his video interviews on here and I must say, he is smart, funny, articulate and interesting. Keep singing, Mickey...we love ya!!!
I can't believe all the hits, Thomas, takes for being commercially viable. The negative for his stint with Starship is undeserved. Why can't songs be remembered for tunes that are commercial. Some of the greatest flops were music recorded for personal edification of the singer and heralded as artistic and innovative. I always thought music was written to capture the widest audience. Gino Vannelli was another one that was criticized and yet has a voice way beyond most singers of today.
I agree with wendyluvselliott he still has the goods; alas, the pipes were better with "fooled around" and with "Jefferson Starship" - I will take what I can get!
Mickey's birthday is actually 12/3/1949.

the best voices of rocknroll are underrated singers Mickey Thomas and Robin Zander as an example

Mickey Thomas' birthday is: July 7, 1954.
And, YES, 'The Mick' STILL has the goods.
Not THE strongest tune I've heard, but HE still shines as brightly and is as strong as Ever.
He is Rock Royalty.
Utterly superb.

Mickey still has one of the best voices ever, and I think he's getting close to 60 years old.

So?....once one "gets close to 60 years old"....where should we place them?.... in a field somewhere, and let the fire ants eat them?

superb voice, and still strong unlike many of his contemporaries

Mickey Thomas of Starship is the lead from Jeferson Starship. One of the best voices out there.
