I highly enjoyed Dragon Age 2. I don't understand all the hate. Sure, it was different from Origins, but that's what Bioware was going for. "I'm not calling you a liar."
You tell us what Hawke was like, and by you I mean this dialogue wheel with vague choices that all seem to have tone that you don't want. You will always have a protagonist that makes derpy, snarky quips that you can't control. Hawke will always be "Hawk", but what side of the bed he woke up on today YOU choose.

Nothing in this game indicate that everything takes place more than 2 years. The timeskips could be easily within weeks or months. The characters and plot were so shallow and non-interactive that I did not know them as well as my DAO companion in a supposedly shorter time period. I can just go over DAO "yep the whole thing took 20 years". Combat pacing is preference but its clear they did not do proper testing with it since so many of its aspects were broken: kiting, FF and enemy from thin air
one thing that sucks about dragon age 2 is that when i tell isabella to go around someones back and stab em they are already dead by the time she gets there
Also he's outright lying in the first 20 seconds of the video, it's 7 years not 10. As the end of act 3, the last part of the game, is the 7th year. I don't count 3 year skip and more talking from Varric as part of a 10 year timespan when it explains nothing.

There is nothing "new" or "original" in DA2. On the contrary. It's a major step backwards to the very old, ancient even, tired mould of moving a creature along a track, fight the baddies, collect the pink jewels, whittle down a boss, progress to next section, all repeats. They've removed all advanced or complex interaction, removed choice, removed immersion... All that is left is combat for damaged kids.
@1oktay1 dragon age 2 was a great game. the combat and story and characters were awesome. but they should have looked at it at an even bigger scale. like instead of champion of kirkwall he should have been champion of the free marches, and instead of only 1 crappy city there should been at least half a dozen, and a bunch of caves and forests to explore
I Like The New Battle System The Game In General Wasn't Bad But I Din't Like The Way The Quest Were Done Not Stream lined like In DAO and the Fact that I Would Loot A chest then Get A Quest Update was Bull and the dubgeons could have been better but good game overall
To people getting pissed at the battle system: I find the new system rather convenient due to it being at a much faster pace with the fact that it's much more active. I love how they let mages be melee while using their element move at close range. Plus the fact that they made combos for classes that end in a big hit. The new skills are great and some of them aren't new that people still like. Overall I find the new system great for people who didn't like the slowness of the first Dragon Age.

@RATP01 They weren't aiming for darkspawn since the Blight had ended. they focused on a bunch of other things in the game like Qunari. The Qunari look epic compared to Sten in the first Dragon Age. Overall, they made the enemies really well.

Mike pretty much said everything I wanted to know about this game... But I sure hope that Dragon Age 2 will have a more open enviroment than that of Origins. In Origins there seemed to be just a dozen places you can go to and they felt sort of like tunnels.

i wonder how your char's decisions from the first game will affect the world in 2. hell, they didn't really affect the world in the first game. i didn't really matter who you sided with and who lived or died in quests(except for losing access to elfroots which was a pain). not to mention for the ps3 it ran like crap but it seems like that was the case for the 360 too.

My only request is to actually make the easy setting noobfriendly. @Olemguy My gosh, same here. It took me ages to finish Origins and get the hang of it. I always have to play these kinds of games on easy, and I've only ever played it on normal as a mage (with all the extra healing spells, etc).
Anyone kind of confused as to what the game is actually like? It'll probably make more sense later, but I'm kind of confused about the story. It could be just me.
This is a really good game, but I stopped playing it quite fast since fighting pissed me of (slow sword swinging, INSANELY fast health losing and that)...I'm a big fan of Bi0ware (finished Mass Effect 1/2, KotOR, Jade Empire) and this had great story, presentation, graphic and that, but I just couldn't find myself in it.
Let's hope Bi0ware makes fighting look more realistic with more blood and finishing.

@RATP01 They weren't aiming for darkspawn since the Blight had ended. they focused on a bunch of other things in the game like Qunari. The Qunari look epic compared to Sten in the first Dragon Age. Overall, they made the enemies really well.

he says your dragon age origins character affects the new world. and Flemeth is in the game.....what if you killed Flemeth? i understand that morrigan said she could come back....i take it she does.?

Mike pretty much said everything I wanted to know about this game... But I sure hope that Dragon Age 2 will have a more open enviroment than that of Origins. In Origins there seemed to be just a dozen places you can go to and they felt sort of like tunnels.

@sahadiablo I played a demo on a PS3 and i know that horny guy is Qunari general i was talking about Hawk.But the game is started at the time of blight in Ferelden and continues in 10 year's forward Morrigan is there cuz blight is over and she was gone as she told but we didn't know where up until now.In witch hunt she was gone for good but with my character and that place is not free marches.

i wonder how your char's decisions from the first game will affect the world in 2. hell, they didn't really affect the world in the first game. i didn't really matter who you sided with and who lived or died in quests(except for losing access to elfroots which was a pain). not to mention for the ps3 it ran like crap but it seems like that was the case for the 360 too.

Guys it`s nothing new that EA is god at Destroying perfect game series, take a look at C & C such a good game changed in such a big joke in my eyes but i hope bioware got enough to talk that it won`t happen the same disaster bad to through away so much potencial

My only request is to actually make the easy setting noobfriendly. I seriously suck at complicated/"Early 2000's" style RPG's :'( *Sob* I haven't bothered completing Origins because of this, even if it's such a magnificent game. :/ Maybe if there was an option making it more Mass Effect-ish in terms of gameplay, too much to ask for probably.

@Olemguy ? I tried it on casual and solo'd the archdemon without losing 40% health. Very noobfriendly :P Nightmare was hella fun.

@Olemguy My gosh, same here. It took me ages to finish Origins and get the hang of it. I always have to play these kinds of games on easy, and I've only ever played it on normal as a mage (with all the extra healing spells, etc).

This is a really good game, but I stopped playing it quite fast since fighting pissed me of (slow sword swinging, INSANELY fast health losing and that)...I'm a big fan of Bi0ware (finished Mass Effect 1/2, KotOR, Jade Empire) and this had great story, presentation, graphic and that, but I just couldn't find myself in it.
Let's hope Bi0ware makes fighting look more realistic with more blood and finishing.

BOOST THOSE GRAPHICS THIS TIME!!! There was no reason last time for old gen graphics, accept u guys(EA & Bioware)cheaped out & focused on the story and yes this is why I got Dragon Age Origins. But these day AND next yr 2011, I expect more out of a game. EA & Bioware have the money & tech to deliver on story & graphics, judging by the time frame "March2011"u guys r cheaping out on something & it probably graphics AGAIN!! I may spend my $70. on something else this time round if thats the case....

@07duncan17 who in the world cares about graphics? in origins the gameplay and the story was amazing. if you look at the trailer you can notice that the graphics have vastly improved. you remind me of fanboys who judge how good a game is by graphics.

@g5icleb because, this isn't the year 2003, its 2010. i live in edmonton and have been a fan of bioware for awhile buying their games. I bought dragon age orgins not even seeing what the gameplay was like. the game was awesome that you would be drawn into the game so far the you could care less about graphics. heck, my fav FF is FF7 and those graphics suck compared to dragon orgins. but they could seriously make the graphics better. even could bring up to par as MA2

Planning,sketching,directing, its kinda interesting this time round..you're focusing entirely on a Blood Arcane Warrior..his life,his journey will he cross paths with old faces of DOA. An entirely new emeny,lesser dark spawns?
