I Don't think so, recently the democrats in congress passed the bill that repeals the corporate welfare to the energy companies that the republican party put in place and uses that money for alternative energy sources.

2) Who do you think is DEVELOPING alternative energy? Congress? Try Mobil, Shell, Exxon --- it's the next wave of profitability. Everyone knows oil will run out; do you really think the oil companies aren't going to shift gears to keep making money?

3) Check records and stop making assumptions. Most of the oil-producing Congressional districts in the Union are represented by Democrats.
