@ccd101 Well actually we joined the EEC in 1973 and confirmed in 1975. The Maastricht treaty changed the EEC into the EC and the Lisbon treaty changed it into the EU.
Okay, to be exact, Britain joined what is now called the EU. Pretty typical of the EU that you are a member of it without having joined it. ;-/

Britain should join the Euro, the time where Britain ruled the world with our empire has long gone. This feeling where we believe we are superior to everyone else it stupid, because we aren't! We are in a time where countries like China and India are very prosperous and rich. It is better the swim as one than sink individually. It's time our island folk mentality went.
Furthmore i believe Turkey shouldn't join the EU as they are mostly NOT part of Europe and is largely a very poor nation.
NO NO NO we will never nor join it any time soon the Euro has been a Disaster and we never wanted that crappy money anyway just look at Greece and other countries that have it look what happend there we dont want it never have and we will keep the pound
@tommybritain You're wrong,while China and India have enormous economic potential due to there overwhelming population,Turkey has a much better quality of life than China and certainly India.It's definetly not at the level it should be,but it's still higher than the other 2.Oh and Turkey is one of the 20 biggest and most powerful economies in the world...
