  • The Japanese film brought me to love this song~! >w<

  • There will never be anyone like them again! As my UK friend would say: "Brilliant. Just brilliant!!!"

  • Leonard Bernstein praised this song which is head and shoulders above most rock drivel in its complexity and inventiveness musically.

The Beatles were the spearhead of sweeping change in the Western world...that's all they did.

  • why can´t I share your video on facebook?? only the link appears.. :( greets!!

  • oh god,why didn't you send me in the midst of furry in the 60's!

Hippies,yippies,LSD,zen,counter-culture and the fear of a global war...all this made life fun and spontaneous!

  • its like an extended version

  • Lovely version!! I also like very much the book "Norwegian Wood" by Haruki Murakami. You absolutely have to read it hearing this song. Soooo lovely!

  • @sayoko82 yes, Haruki Murakami....beautifull book, exatly read it

  • oh i like this version. thanks for posting!!!!

  • Title altered slightly so that John's wife wouldn't know that it was the true story of the night he spent with Natalie Wood.

  • It's brilliant to listen to the almost-right recordings. Some of them, like this one, are even better than the released ones.

  • 19 people prefer Dieter Bohlen ... perhaps ...

  • is his guitar in a different tuning on this version?

  • Another class song from the best band ever !

  • R.I.P. George.

  • love the music

  • they were wonderful. Im 52, and still too old....

  • My favorite Beatles track from their best album!

  • my ringtone :)

  • "first world problems"

    Norwegian wood is too short

  • cheesus forking cryest

  • It would appear that Phil "Phibber" Munchausens comments that the Beatles are bigger than cheeses, have stirred up plenty of controversy on You Tube.Phils remarks were taken out of context and ,blown up out of all proportion.Phil feels he has been grilled and toasted by people jumping on the bandwagon. He never meant to offend anyone.Cheese has its place in the world, and so do the Beatles, I say Peace, love, cheese and understanding to the world.

  • Didn't like.. Satan's Host did a good cover!

  • Linda canção! Eterna! ouvida "ontem", para ser ouvida "hoje", sempre será "amanha".

  • ビートルズ・ワルツ特集

  • @xsansax - Norweigan Wood was a style of furniture!

  • sabine poetzat, Nordring 33. How this takes me back; how I loved her so.........x

  • so the cigar was made of norwegian wood? was it a joint jhon? then he change to smoking yokos i guess

  • wonderful. so great.

  • Haha So does NeRo0912

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • hye, wasnt this written about an affair?

  • Always interesting to hear a different version. Thanks.

With Beatles in mind, I've posted the video, "40 years in 3 minutes", which is a music video containing the Beatles' rooftop performance, historical events over the last 40 years and 8mm film antics from the period, all cut tightly to GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Hope you enjoy!

  • He show'd ya

  • This is one of my all-time favorites! Please check out my piano cover of it :)

  • FUCKING CHEESE SLICE WANKERS

THE BEATLES STILL FEED US ALL

  • @myepiphone it was "The Beatles are bigger than Jesus," not that they were bigger than Cheeses. :) :) you can imagine the response.

  • @peacefultrees37 Get a sense of humour..

  • @peacefultrees37 lern2sarcasm

  • All I can say is the I was Born in the wrong damn decade.

  • @abbeyroadification agreed man me2

  • @abbeyroadification

    wrong age, buddy:) not decade...

  • @abbeyroadification ... I was born in the right decade! :D

  • @abbeyroadification

I never cared.....I was in the basement....in between a lot of crap there was this vinyl with these longhaired guys.....i put it on, and was in a trance....ever since then I love real music.....thank you mom and dad for not only listening to crap...this only vinyl saved me

  • @abbeyroadification I was born in the right damn decade. July 1963. This was the world I came into. Awesome!

  • @jazzy6307 Lucky you :)

  • @jazzy6307 me too :)) best wishes from Poland

  • @abbeyroadification All u can say is damn stupid. Wrong decade? why?? U can hear that song now, AND all the damn good music that was created meanwhile.

  • @FlauschigeFeder What abbeyroadification said is not damn stupid at all. One thing is that you can listen to a song. Another thing is that you live and enjoy THE TIME, the days when the song was created and issued and you be part of the generation to whom the song was addressed. You can listen to Beethoven music but it's not like living in his times and going to a concert with Beethoven himself playing. You get the difference?

  • @FlauschigeFeder Besides, the song was released in 1965. And the 60's were fantastic times, my friend

  • @corrado1860 60's a good time? without inlineskates and MP3 Players?Without all the cool music like Macy Gray, Pepe Deluxe and so on? And if the police found two joints in your pocket, they send u in jail for 10 years. Thats the difference. A shit time.

  • @FlauschigeFeder I saw thousands of joints being smoked around me and I don't rememeber a single friend of mine ever being sent to prison for that. Where have you read that? They were great times, my friend. And that's not just because we were young and beautiful then. Take care and enjoy yourself.

  • @corrado1860 10 years for 2 joints? You realy have no idea where i read that? Hahahahaha. Maybe you have to read a little more about the booring 60s and John Lennon^^....Stupid stoned old farts...

  • I miss John Lennon : ( but have found a new band playing at the famous cavern that i now can't get enough of either!! XANDER and the PEACE PIRATES check out some of their stuff or get down and see them live for the best night of fantastic music and atmosphere!! watch this - Xander and The Peace Pirates - Ultra Nate 'Free'

  • ATTENTION all Beatles fans,On July 30th, we will be watching the music video "Hey Jude" repeatedly all day to boost it's view count up to at the least of 100,000,000 views. You don't even have to listen to it. You can just keep playing the video back to back all the way through without sound. We're doing this to compete with Justin Beibers garbage music videos & to make The Beatles be heard across Youtube. Copy& Paste this across all Beatles videos. Spread the word!

  • @gab33chaves If you're serious, I don't see the point! The Beatles are my favorite band ever, from child to adult-hood, but if people like and listen to Justin Beibers or Joe blow, who cares? Toni

  • @gab33chaves I dont think the beatles need any more publicity. not that i dont love the shit out of them but seriously there are bands out there that NEED hearing , most young kids will run into the beatles at some point or another, and most will probably fucking love them

  • Everyone don't blast your music or anything like that. Why? Because the beatles had their time for 10 years and still live on today. So let Justin Bieber and ke$ha have there time. The Beatles have 3 out of the 5 top albums of all time and 4 out of the top 10. I don't think Justin will even hit 500 so let people have their opinion on music and we have ours.

  • @2:18 hahahaha

  • how on earth can this have 17 dislikes? what the fuck are these 17 douche bags smoking? go listen to justin bieber, you're all lost

  • Holy shit!! This is so cool! Got any more of these gems..great description,gems..wow!

  • Love hearing these...gems!!!

  • I remember the first time I heard this song. Me and my family were on vacation at this place where you could rent cabins and go on hikes and things around there. One of the nights we were there, there was this cowboy guy who played the guitar and sang songs around a campfire. So, he was asking for suggestions for a song to play and he said "How about a Beatles song? This one's called Norwegian Wood." I was only 9 or 10 and I liked the Beatles very much and had heard of this song but never actua

  • Anyone else feel like this should be and sounds like a Harrison song? I always forget that its John singing...

  • @TheRoyalBreton Me also!! (lol) The eastern tone (sitar?) & his playing.........yes, absolutely. But those lyrics.....John was , well..........John. (lol) God, sure do miss them both, tremendously. R.I.P. John. R.I.P. George.

  • @TheRoyalBreton no. pure lennon 100% sorry :)

  • @TheRoyalBreton i agree and feel the same

  • @TheRoyalBreton don't know why it 'should' be George.. probably confusing any Beatle use of sitar with a Harrison song.. Tomorrow Never Knows is another Lennon/McC w/sitar.

  • I love Pauls harmony on this

  • @bigpudding8888 Me too!!!

  • Where would music be without John?

  • this is class!

  • Me and my band played this but we failed so bad because the sitar was a cheapy...

  • <3333

    1 heart for each beatle

  • The song is supposedly based on a real-life event from Lennon's life.

"Norwegian wood" is a cheeky reference to the cheap laminate Swedish furniture (ie pre-Ikea) that was popular among "birds" in the 60s.

Its unclear whether or not the fire the protagonist of the song lit was made from said furniture, but its implied.

  • The 17 dislikes, you need to pull your collective heads out of your a,sses; This is true greatness & talent.

  • Classic! Never gets old!

  • To myepiphone: John says that the beatles are more famous that Jesus Christ. Was only a single commentary. It was a little mistake, their missunderstund.

  • The little spekaing voices (by John) between the accords (the beginning) are unpayable. :) Cute :)

  • Yea! You showed her!!

  • all of this songs are ethernal....

  • maaan all im seeing in the comments are angry replies to other people. totally not the beatles vibe. be yourself. fuck everybody else. be all that you can be as long as you are free. peace love and prosperity

  • Americans are retards.

  • @Currahee05GT dude listen to the song not all the media shit, and by the way i thought what both John and Paul had to say about politics over the years was right.

  • @Currahee05GT Yeah! There's nothing to criticize USA for invading nations because of nuclear weapons they don't own. Neither for killing ten thousands of civilists. Everything the USA does is blessed by god!

    Idiot. -.-

  • @munnimann Sehen Sie hier Bratwurst essen dipshit, Invasion you'e jus eifersüchtig Fall ihr Deutschen kippe ein NAION nd halten. Lulz beoutch!

  • @Currahee05GT Is this supposed to be german? You think I'm jealous? What kind of human are you? You think it's legal to kill people just for oil? And you have no bette idea than calling me jealous? Oo

And why the hell is my english better than yours even though I'm german? Learn your sodding language.

  • @munnimann I can practice my english skills and get better you however will always be an asshole?

  • @munnimann I can practice my english skills and get better you however will always be an asshole? By the way it's our oil we just keep it in the middle east for storage.

  • @Currahee05GT You say "It's our oil we just keep it in the middle east for storage", you make racist comments, you wish the Beatles to burn in hell and you call ME an asshole?!

  • @munnimann Well "It takes one to know one" and I spotted you right away. I really don't care for the Beatles politics, yes they were a huge talent. Mainly I like trolling Beatles fans cause they are easy to upset. =) ,,l,,

  • When I was small the "then she said it's time for bed" part made me sad, but now I laugh,

It sounds like he slept with her, and when she left for work he set her house on fire?

  • @traebarlow I don't think he slept with her. He 'crawled out and slept in the bath'. When she told him that she 'worked in the morning', meaning prostitution in the A.M. hours, he was repulsed. I think he built a fire in the fireplace with her expensive furniture, just to get back at her for insulting him. Burning her home would have been psychotic behavior, and I think he was just trying to be a smart ass.

  • love the beatles great music, have a listen too kulu change of heart video on youtube. Album no rider out i tunes now!!!

  • I love this song and what it's about, how John is the one being persued by the woman rather than the other way around. I also love the Sitar in this, it really gives it a great sound.

  • Real from the studio

  • Norwegian Wood is a thinly veneered song vaguely referencing John's many extramarital affairs.

Someone should have told him, "hey, you've got to hide your love away" or something! ;)

  • @HoraceLime I've read something about that, he wanted to put it in an abstract light so that his wife at the time wouldn't know exactly what he was singing about.

  • awesome upload, thanks for sharing!

  • @AshleCaseyJohnson

me too, so i would be imortal :D

  • The Beatles were the strongest voice of a generation of many strong, talented voices. Nature set them apart for a reason. It is so we do not just think they were just another great band, so we look closer and listen a little better. When we do, we will see that they were prophets. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read the section about The Beatles.

  • george martin cool

  • My pal Phil "Phibber" Munchausen claims John once got into trouble for saying "The Beatles were bigger than Cheeses....apparently The Kraft Cheese Company took a very dim view of his comments.....but Phil doesn't always tell the truth

  • @myepiphone And you my friend, win at life!

  • Comment removed

  • @myepiphone hahahahahah!! that is funny

  • @myepiphone Cheese was the never same again

  • @myepiphone Ha-ha! What he said wasn't far from the truth. Google "John Lennon said Beatles were bigger than Jesus". It'll prove that your friend wasn't really lying--just a little confused. John made the remark on March 4, 1966, and it caused the Beatles a lot of trouble when many religious nuts condemned them and when many of their fans began to burn their records. He maintained that what he meant was not that they were better than Jesus, but that they had millions more fans than he did..

  • @60sMusicFan1955 what's a shame is that everyone knew it was true, they were all just too afraid to. john, being john, was the only one who would say it. that was just everyone's excuse to hate them, cause 'he said that they were better than jesus!" haha, people are so stupid.

  • @myepiphone Oh Cheeses,Cheeses, Cheeses!

  • Ugh my norwegian wood is throbbing after listening to this.

  • Love you John! Just another Cynthia.

  • I think the dislikes must have screwed their thumbs on wrong when they clicked on the tab

  • A lot of UK apartments in the sixties had cheap wood. Norwegian wood. It would be the equivalent of using cheap pine here in the states.

  • @dkd1954 I think 14 people are made of Norwegian wood.

  • @Blueyays that's funny I don't care who you are. Nice comment. I remember hearing the song on the radio when it first came out and I thought to myself, "what is this song all about?"

  • damn right. the devils best friend

  • i call for the immediate killing of mark chapman then harmony will be restored.!!

  • @MrArnold1972 i second that notion!!!

  • @378904 If i could i would do the deed personally and with remorse whatsoever.

  • @MrArnold1972 WTF?

  • @Blueyays yes sir....if mark chapman was in front of me and i had a gun i would gladly empty the gun into his head.......R.I.P JOHN LENNON.

  • @MrArnold1972 How could you say that!!? I mean I hate Mark for what he did, but John said "Give Peace a chance" and if you did that to Mark then you would be betraying John for killing and bringing violence instead of bringing peace!

  • @neoleo222 Really.?

And if the majority of lennon fans had the opportunity to kill chapman then i believe they would do it.

Im not a violent person and never have been but john also mentioned "happiness is a warm gun"..."instant karma"..etc.

I agree we should "give peace a chance"but john lennon knew that violence was a strong and powerful force in the world.

Just look around today and i think you will agree.

  • @MrArnold1972 I do, but peace can also be as strong as violence, it just requires patience, and love.Yes a majority of John's fans will go violent when they see Mark Chapman outside in the free world, but I highly doubt that would happen because Mark has been denied parole several times, the chances of him getting out are slim.

  • @MrArnold1972 You know, it's one thing to say what you might do if Lennon's killer were in front of you, and another thing entirely if he were actually standing there before your face. Which fortunately, for all of us, is what makes all the difference in the world, since 99% of us do have a social conscience. So, just to clear the air, Lennon's killer is unquestionably a psychopath. And also, I believe, a clear and present danger. Who should never go free.

  • @Tdgonline I hope they threw the key away! cheers. (Yeah I could probably do him in if he were in front of me, I could develop a mob mentality and have kangaroo court style justice but the I do have a conscience!)

  • @Tdgonline if he were standing right in front of my face i would blow it off.

and i dont believe he would present a clear and present danger to the public.

John lennon was his hero not everybody else,

he was killing an image and icon.

  • @Tdgonline Tell that to the cop who blew Nathan Gale's dome piece off.

  • ???!? how could someone dislike this???!?

  • Love this song

  • You showed us all John,I know you will never read this but thanks anyway.

  • Duo means 2 people Brian Wilson may have more than 1 personality but he is only 1 person. But wouldn`t it be nice if he had a twin

  • I showed ya!

  • 11 persons are mentally handicapped...

  • 11 NOOBZ

  • This is our all !!!!! Love and remember !!!!!

  • Thx

  • the only other British band that can be mentioned in the same sentence as the Beatles are the Kinks. Grossly under rated. their best stuff never gets airplay. greatest bands of all time: #1 the beatles, #2 the Kinks.

  • My mom use to sing this song as my lullaby when I was smaller <3

  • I wish I was a Beatles song

  • @AshleyCaseJohnson who doesnt ;)

  • Todays song writers don`t want to here it but there may never be another talened song writing duo the likes of Lennon McCartney ever again

  • @LordGandor3

The greatest songwriting duo is Brian Wilson.

  • Allora, questo è MUSICA VERA E PURA, avete capito?

  • This song is a prime example why The Beatles are considered the greatest

  • I think this has George Harrison playing the stiar?

  • @TheKaizer0007 yep thats him

  • i agree one of the best songs ever written imagine the songs he WOULD of written if he was alive oh my god imagine?

  • i agree one of the best songs ever written
