also the little sheep symbol is featured in Yellowcard's "Ocean Avenue" video
just thought you should know, that video also has nothing to do with the meaning of the song and I think it's just some inside thing (I saw the MTV making of the video and the band members said it was like an inside thing)
@merrygolds I think the videos for both songs are metaphors. Like if you think of the lyrics to this and the video in the video he thinks he has everything under control, but somebody else is controlling him in the end. Same with the song, it just happens to be that in the song he gets controlled into sex, and in the video it's a threat.
I think the song is a metaphor for the music industry and losing innocence as an artist. like the lyric "it used to be the reason I breathed but now it's choking me up" doesn't make sense about sex if he's never had it before, ya know?
but if it's music, once a serious artist becomes famous making music can become an almost painful process considering there is so much pressure from their label to make money.
evandb42 u clearly have a music understanding retardation because this song isnt about a girl breaking his heart its about a guy who wants something more than sex, which is interpreted as rare and a girl that is just lookin for sex so its a reversal of the stereotypical male/female roles.
what's better: sic transit gloria OR i will play my game beneath the spin light? ....i say spinlight. reply to this post so i know what you guys think.
Lol wow you are really terrible at understanding music aren't you? That isn't it at all. He's talking about a girl who he probably lost. Have you ever heard any of Laceys other stuff? He writes about a girl who obviously broke his heart.
You are dense. This song is a reversal on the popular view that a guy is born ready and waiting for sex while its a difficult situation for a girl to prepare for. Its about the pressure put on a young man to want sex when he's still sorting out his emotional identity and about the common reaction by most young men to repress these feelings.
Basically its about getting everything you ever wanted and finding out that its complicated, messy, awkward and incredibly personal.
The video is simply a demonstration about how this feels like something painful, unique and horrible that no one can possibly understand; yet every male in the bar is going through the exact same thing.
@Bethsterseaterfan whats not to get, guy down in the dumps finds the ability to make those around him mimic his movements which he uses and abuses, until someone else comes along, who also has the ability, and disapproves of his actions/existence in general, and signs a threat
I can never get enough of this song.
