  • Legend!!

  • he's a sick bloke. Cars is gangster.

  • and draw from what his better works to create something familiar but fresh.

  • i can understand gary numans' issue with his older works. I think he knows that his older stuff was more successful and probably sounded much better. Although he seems like the kind of guy to want to always be progressing musically. I get that. Stasis can be a musicians worst enemy. I also believe that he was been in an experimental phase for the last I don't know decade and a half, which I think is too long. Rather than trying to "reinvent the wheel" he should go back to his roots

  • Poor Gary ref his old songs, but he's not alone. I'm sure all popular bands/artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who etc find for some reason people mostly only want to hear the old ones and it's hard for any new music to have the same cred/popularity.

  • First time I have seen this. What a wonderfully unassuming and modest man Gary Numan is. A breath of fresh air.

  • gary to graham: "could you.....could you Slow down a bit.....Please......thank you.."

  • This is why America thinks UK shows and personalities are such twats. What an idiot.

  • Back in the day I thought he was a right knob, but time has shown me wrong, bloody good music and a nice bloke as well.

  • Is this guy seriously going on about Gary making dildo's for his wife?

  • @HawK047 Graham Norton is a pathetic and not funny queer cunt.He takes the piss out of people with far more talent than he, a pathetic little poof, will ever have.

  • i had the pleasure of meeting gary numan at badminton air show when i was 15. I was introduced to him by his no 1 fan nigel brain, sat in his caravan having a cup of tea with gary & his mum. I didnt say a lot as i was a bit star struck but i remember he was a top bloke. how cool? Legend of electronic music.

  • i had the privilege of meeting gary numan at badminton air day when i was about 15, he was flying his plane there, i sat in his caravan with him, his mum and my mate, nigel brain, his number 1 fan, i cant remember saying much, as i was completely star struck, but remember that he was a bloody top bloke, his mum made us a cup of tea and i sat with one of my heros having a cuppa......mint,.....he signed our arms and off we went...how cool?..legend of electronic music

  • Numan here looks like an Indian actor from Bollywood :D

  • I like neuman, but the other guy would probably have been KO 20 years ago if he talk like this interviewing someone.

  • @Zephyesa hes a comdiean interviewer, they now there going to be ripped

  • @OfficialCable theres crossing the line but, and u shudn do that and not get hit for it.

  • @Zephyesa There not crossing the line, he knows what hes probably going to be asked and told. Thats how most interviews work and if your not English then this is English comedy we can take any jokes.

  • Comment removed

  • @Zephyesa You fucking call us cowards you piece of shit. Its called a joke, its not a insult. Getting a fucking sense of humour you sad cunt. and mate if the english are cowards how come we had the largest empire.

  • Comment removed

  • @OfficialCable Also I really enjoy humourous stuff like Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Little Britain, Family Guy, Dave Chapelle, Saturday Night Live, and movies featuring the likes of Steve Carrel, Will Ferrel and Jim Carrey in them. Gee does this mean Ive got a sense of humour now?

Your "get a sense of humour" doesnt make any sense now does it?

    Dopey fuck.

  • @Zephyesa And my sense of humour does make fucking sense. if you think these are insults you need to get a fucking sense of humour you dumb fuck, and learn that a comedian tells fucking jokes not insults your arrogant prick.

  • @OfficialCable there you go again wityh the 'you need to get asense of humour' its like your mushed up excuse for a brain has some kind of recording device in it that just spits out the same answers without any thought, see my last post again and all the comedians and funy shit I like, how could I like all them and not have a sense of humour you dim fucking twat!

  • @Zephyesa Oh my fucking god are you stupid, how can you see this as a fucking insult to Numan. they are fucking jokes, and make people laugh. And i would personally say you dont have a sense of humour if you cant tell the difference between petty insults and jokes.

  • @OfficialCable you must be dumb, I can tell the difference, and you obviously think they are the same thing, you keep saying like a moron I dont have a sense of humour so just to repeat from before for you cause your so THICK!!!!

"Also I really enjoy humourous stuff like Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Little Britain, Family Guy, Dave Chapelle, Saturday Night Live, and movies featuring the likes of Steve Carrel, Will Ferrel and Jim Carrey in them. Gee does this mean Ive got a sense of humour now?"

  • @OfficialCable hohoho looks like I really hit a sore point there, truth hurts eh english er man? And your empires gone mate, gone for nearly a century now, because the brave men who made it so, are no longer much around with you, thats why you lost it.

Also you seem to think you can insult anyone about anything with liberty at will, and then accuse them of lacking humour if they take the slightest offence, you are indeed a true coward.

  • @Zephyesa Indeed a true coward. what the fuck are you on about mate, How am i a coward. Your a fucking idiot, your think a comedian interveiwer that is famous for ripping into people is a bad person, and you also think Gary Numan would take offence to these. There fucking jokes not insults. Accept that and fuck off you stupid dick.

  • @OfficialCable yeah yeah everything is a joke, your a shitstain mate, you got no boundarys, no morals no fucking idea, and you are the kind that goes whining to the cops when someone has enough of your putrid rude mouth and puts their fist through your dumb face.

We dont have to accept anything from brainless fucktards like you, who think they can say and do anything they want, and then has a big cry when someone tells them to shut the fuck up.

  • Two Top Blokes

    Matching Snatches

  • apparetly rowan attkinson did a comedy skit about Gary Numan which was on not the nine oclock news. does anyone know where i can find this skit becasue i cant

  • he's a top man

  • Tubeway Army - timeless music...

  • Has Asperges, and a had a lot of shyness etc. He is fantastic. So ahead of his time. Adore his early stuff too.

  • After you've watched Norton playing Noel Furlong in Father Ted he seems relatively pleasant here.

  • @Newbunkle superb - love Noel...

  • Norton is a total prick........

  • heres one.. "hump and dump". she's ugly xD

  • He talks like karl pilkington.

  • @HomemadeIndie You think Pilko sounds Oirish?

  • the man is above human understanding. :)

  • look at the air intakes he's got on his t-shirt shoulders... he's the coolest ever.

  • A) I didn't know he (Numan) was straight. B) I thought he was dead! C) He was only 21 or so when he released Cars? WOW! Lol. I thought he was like 30. Lol. x

  • ok Gary 20 years ago but IT STILL DOES IT FOR ME. Accept it mate you and your songs are still great

  • Gary is great :) I'm actually related to him! although we have never met

  • please log on to equip.org

  • Yummy!

  • what a wonderful man, lovely wife.. bitchin music.. numan rox! :)

  • He wears Nu-Rocks - how cool is that!

  • I heard him at the start (in the 70's).. I was there when The Killers supported him.. I don't care who loves him or hates him..

He is one of the major influences on popular music.

    A true virtuoso.

  • wow.. so modest and soft spoken.. please let him and miley cyrus never be sitting next to each other.

  • Modest!

  • the funniest part: "im fine with it now....." hilarious!

  • Hell and damnation: is Gary wearing New Rocks?? I simply loooooooove that brand and spent a great deal of money on them.. :-)

  • It's funny him talking about not revisiting his old stuff, and now he is touring playing the whole of the Pleasure Principle,i' m going to see him play in Sydney in May.I'm glad he changed his views on the old stuff,it's brilliant

  • hes so damned cute!

  • Happy 53rd Birthday Gary Numan.

  • WAIT A MINUTE...............O DANMIT i thought this is the awsomne garry newman the one that invented Gmod

  • oh he is so loverly!

  • Numan's stuff sounds freaking awesome again. The guy is just incredible. He really lived the pop star life, and was so down to earth about it. God love the guy!

  • I love Gary- he's one of my pop idols (you know there's a but coming), BUT I'll never understand it when musicians downplay their older stuff. The song Cars (& The Pleasure Principle) made him a world wide star, and he goes on as if the music is boring and worthless to him..... (forever scratching my head)

  • @GPWS339 I see your point, but I actually didn't take it that way. I don't think he meant he was ashamed of it, he just didn't want to continue to trade off it and be defined by it. He might perform his old material in his own show, for example, but to be part of a tribute tour would ignore the other music created, even if it wasn't successful. I could be wrong though...

  • @GPWS339 yeah, a number of his older works are bad, but he must not hate them that much if he plays them live, hes always been critical about his work though, but i dont think thats a bad thing. I remember reading how much he disliked ALOT of his 80's material

  • I love the man. I think he's brilliant. A synth pioneer. And such a humble guy.

  • That Norton dudette is another example of how the BBC went from the Best Broadcasting Company in the world,to the Bummer Broadcasting Co. Which these days is overrun by homosexuals, hooligan managers, and cooks with eating disorders.

Nuthin wrong with gays mind, just in the right measures.

    "Clone your bone"?....nahh..I døn't follow.

  • @PAULLONDEN i thought it was a funny interview, but clone your bone and especially match your snatch was just tooo much for me

  • @PAULLONDEN And ..should be scanned thoroughly by a trusted virus scanner too.

  • Am I just imagining it or did Numan really own a Mitsubishi Zero?

  • I used to be the night shift security guard at shepperton studios and one night he was playing on H stage and it was great to hear his music really loud I still love his music and I am now in my 50s.

  • Gary Numan is awesome-He has got the very first synth I designed for Kontakt 4-Gary and Ade Fenton have a the first copies.

It is a synth based on ARP's Quadra synth with added 16 step analogue sequencer.

If you want a copy go to my channel and see the video with the web address on.

    Peacex

  • wow his wife is gorgeous

  • I bought an aeroplane I guess was a bit flash...lol

  • Humble as can be. He's a legend in my mind.

  • I think he said before in interviews he is somewhere on the Asphergers spectrum.

  • It's Mike Myers!!!

  • @t8283287 Gary appears to be the kind of guy it'd be cool to hang out with, even if he wasn't a famous musician. He's big into cars and flying, and is really quite personable and friendly to everyone (even to my buddy, who didn't recognize him at first). It was still tough not to be starstruck, I have been a fan of his for so long; but I was very impressed by how nice he was to his fans. The man is a legend, pure and simple!

  • Too much tanning Gary, this is why your skin is baggy on your neck today dear! Stay out of the sun my darling!

  • He seems so cool! Great to see a musician without an attitude problem.

  • Gary is the purveyor of techno pop imo.The host could make one who isn't camera friendly feel a bit awkward no?

  • I was lucky enough to meet Gary before a concert in Frankfurt, Germany in the late 90s. He is an extremely friendly and likable guy, and quite different from his stage persona. I've been a fan for over 30 years, and will continue to be one until my final days...

  • @majormadmax kind words there mate, i live in hope that i may too meet my idol, was supposed to be going to a concert tonight but its been cancelled, still never mind, keep on rocking Gazza.

  • numan rocks

  • @TwelveBridges Why does everyone think he's got Aspergers or some kind of emotional problem...Maybe he's just out of his comfort zone on a chat show like this...Not everyone's got the sharp wit of Graham Norton.

  • c'mon Gary, grow old with grace and don't wear that bad obvious wig. oh lord !

  • @dudo101 IJust saw him in concert last week....he was amazing and that's no wig. He's got a LOT of hair, dyed though it is, it's his own.

  • @kspillers2 So he's the only guy in the whole world to have A LOT more hair in his 50's than in his 20's? It just grew back? Share your secret Gary, millions await! Or, it's a wig.

  • Gary Numan is an inspiration to aspies

  • funny......i have a super big crush on Gary.....I love you Gary!!!

  • glad it stopped there

  • I remember watching this at the time. i love gary numan, his music is amazing.

Anyone know where i can find Graham Nortons interview with Christopher Lambert? I am sure he has been on it twice. That was funny too.

  • exellent

  • Graham is such a funny little queen! I love him...

  • Awesome.I luv that accent. I was a big fan of gary as a kid...cheers

  • Norton was much dirtier on C4 (the channel not plastique.)

  • @emzii92 i think sometimes it is lack of confidence that drives people on to excel, he seems really nice and modest, seems a real nice guy , no over inflated ego.

  • better than his version? garyyyy cmooon. nothings better than your version!

  • i saw gary numan live. and anout 2 hours be4 we went into tha concert we wea sat outside a cafe and he walked past us like honestly 1m away. it was awsum!

  • I saw him live earlier this year...he was crap. I loved his old stuff but his new stuff was aweful. Looked like & tried to sound like Billy Idol with black hair. Even when he played old stuff it was rubbish. Worst concert ever

  • Cars has been on my mp3 player for the past 3 years, sorry Gary you may not like it anymore but I'll always love that tune. Your music influenced a generation like Bowie did before you, you'd better get used to it, you are now officially a LEGEND.

  • He's so undercooled.

  • i saw gary with his daughter and his wife at my school the other day!

  • ...nice one, I missed the show. It's a pity he won't hit the revival circuit, I get his reasoning, still a shame...

  • Beryl lol

  • WHY IS HE NOT PRIMINISTER?

  • He's sexy.

  • lol

  • His wife is beautiful.

I remember buying the 2cd Replicas/The Plan set as an import at 2nd Ave here in Portland Oregon. It was 93, a few years before he was "hip" again in America. Listened to it every morning with my sibs on our way to school. Did covers of "Me! I Disconnect from You" and "Oh! Didn't I Say" in my band. (Love how he puts punctuation in his song titles). Taped those albums for a lotta people. Like early Ultravox, Japan, Roxy . . .still sounds futuristic today.

  • leather bonage gear lol JK

  • Oh Gary, u can do no wrong. Your classical and no bullshit. Good on ya !

  • He seems really down to earth, humble. I love his music, graam norton is great as well :)

  • doe she wear eye shadow all the time?

  • i still love cars and are friends electric true classic legends from gary numan

  • If American TV was like that I would actually watch it. Great show.

  • Nuts! Numan was very accommodating though

  • match your snatch lol!

  • that old Numan/new wave fashion was awesome

  • Dead Ringer for Mike Myers.

  • god...that host...he has a bit of a dick obsession, dosent he

  • Lovely bloke.

  • Yes what a great person. I have always followed this gentleman and I think the best part is how down to earth he is !! I have to admit being in america and watching this I can clearly see how uptight we are here...it seems so much more open there and relaxed with things. You must just laugh at us here.

  • All this angry debate over whether or not he happens to have hair in his old age? It doesn't even matter. He is a good artist either way.

  • hes obviously brilliant, and I appreciate his request that music be allowed to progress and evolve. He's got a lovely smile.

  • sorry gary their version sux yours rules. money must be involved.

  • wank

  • For the record, Gary had a hair transplant back in around 1983 by the same people who sorted out frank Sinatra and was quite open about it, apart from the funny hats.

  • gary numan is extremely down to earth seems easy to talk to

  • lmao it does look like a wig !!! i loves him anyways though :D

  • If you have neflix you can see him on saturda night live seson 5 ep. 11

  • Its the first time ive heard him chatting...he comes across as a pretty nice grounded guy.

  • U know i was just looking at it closely, glad im not crazy haha

  • Believe it or not this show airs on normal mainstream BBC TV at about 10pm!

  • Hi highlighted that people with aspergers syndrome can be creative people and great artists. Good on you Gary you legend!!!

  • absolutely they can. its just a bit of a commuication difficulty they have thats all. he seems really nice dosnt he.

  • @THALIDO Man aspergers is the best thing ever!!! i see it as more of an ability than a disability. A lot of people with aspergers are extreemely creative and highly inteligent too!!!

  • @RasOrville thnx, i got asperger:-P i happen to be making industrial/darkwave music too lol and i'm an atheist..damn are all aspergers the same?replica's? :-P

  • @nederwiet1 No coz I'm a Rasta. lol. But I suppose we're all very similar in a lot of ways!

  • @nederwiet1 I suppose these similarities are what define us tho. I wonder if lovin synthesizers could be a symptom which is yet to be doccumented?

  • @nederwiet1 I'm a very quite shy guy like Gary, would that mean that i suffer from Asperger?

  • @THALIDO Is Gary an Asperger?

  • Lol, he said he'd never do a comeback tour - and I'm going to see him do the Pleasure Principle tomorrow night!!

  • He was at the Fox theater which is almost always 21+.

  • Aww he's all chill and self-deprecating. I'm still rather sore that I wasn't 21 to see him last time he came to Colorado, but I reserve solid hope for future shows now that I'm of age. I've seen Kraftwerk, Afrikaa Bambaataa, and Numan would make a lovely jewel to add to the crown.

  • wow 21?? when he gigs in the UK its 14+ to most shows xD,

I'll have vids of his gig in my town tomorrow =3

  • Britain isn't as conservative as the US, this goes out on normal TV

  • 1:56 electro prop??

  • hahahaha this vid is awesome! Dude Gary Numan is so rad! He's got such a chill nonchalant attitude and he's very humble. Best music too!!

  • I love Gary Numan. Like him, I also have Asperger's Syndrome.

  • No - it's a mainstream TV show. But stuff like this can only be after 9 o'clock in the evening.

  • Wow, I did not expect Gary Numan to be that cool. What a sweet guy.

  • Yeah, and he's a stunt pilot too.

  • im going to see numan soon and if he dosent sing cars i will cry lol

  • I would do despicable, unwholesome things to that man.

    Yeah, I'm a Numanoid.

  • Comment removed

  • Why oh why did he go on a show with this fucking creep who just loves his own ego?

    Gary numan is beyond this.

  • I TOTALLY AGREE !!

  • Well said Norton is a tit

  • i meet him saturday in a night club here in Milano, he is a VERY kind and gentle person

    brilliant!!

  • What a great interview - pity it stopped short! I have met Gary twice and has always been friendly and signed whatever I thrust at him! The Aspergers seems to have taken a back seat, which I think is down to the love and support from Gemma and the rest of his family. And all you folk out there with nasty and negative comments about Graham Norton -grow up and stop being so negative about people you don't know!

  • Numan is cooler than GOD. and his mum Beryl Too!

Gary we love you and everything about you!

  • A pity the interview ended abruptly in this video. I wish I saw more of this. I wonder what other funny surprises Graham Norton had in his drawer for Gary Numan.

  • A really nice man.

  • what a top notch guy, he's so down to earth.

  • i love the fact that graham norton bags numan's fashion of the day considering what he is wearing himself hahahahahahahaha.

    what a toss =P

  • gary numan is a nice man. incredible, since he can be like most other ego-centric, deluded british pop stars.

  • remind me why that might be?

  • Gotta love the New Rocks! :D

  • graham norton dont know the half of it
