this mp3 player was pretty strong, it lasted 2 years and a half years with intense heat, dropping, moving around alot, the only thing that broke was the back cover as that is not supposed to come off, and thats why it broke, because of the back cover, if the back cover never came off this would've lasted me years more.

My archos 3 vision used to connect to my computer so i could put songs on it, but now when i plug the USB into it and then my comp, it charges it but doesnt show up on my computer, ive only had it a matter of weeks. kinda pissed me off, it wasnt cheap an now its broke, i cant put new songs on it so its pretty much useless, the same songs get boring after hearing them all the time and nothing new. Anyone know if I can fix it?? it was a present for passing my GCSE's from my mum :(

@jackinaboxable first try different leads, then try different computer, if its the leads prob solved, if its your computer, maybe you unplugged without eject properly, not sure how to fix that, but QVC just started selling this and they had a help line for this product, i,m sure the problem is small protocol and easily fixed, looks like a great present

I bought this mp3 player 2 months ago and I regret it terribly. After 2 months it all of a sudden wouldn't turn on anymore unless I plugged it in. When I play music it automatically shuts off by itself, but when I play video's it's just fine. The screen scratches incredibly easily and all in all it really is not worth it at all. It also doesn't play all video files that it says it will . I've only gotten rmvb and avi files to work. I would definitely not recommend this player.

my archos 3 has a file named 'FOUND.000' that doesn't appear on my laptop, and when i press the reset button on the back with a pin, nothing resets, is there a certain amount of time that i need to hold the pin in for? or do I haft to do something else to reset it? because the file wont show up for me to delete it.

Near as I can tell, Windows Media player doesn't embed album art inside the MP3 file--it keeps the artwork on your computer and only links it with the file so it displays when WMP is playing it. Look up a freeware program called MP3tag, that one will let you put the album art inside the actual MP3 file (right click inside the album art display to add it).

I live in NYC and bought this from B&H in Manhattan yesterday. The price is great, the videos I put on it are in Flash/flv format and they are crystal clear, I'm amaze. The player live up to its word on all the features, Music is great, Video and photos, even the radio. the Ipod touch is king of touch screens so I wouldn't dear to compare. But if you want a budget player, name brand, all features work, buy this archos 3 vision, this is no hype. The only test left now for me is battery life.

@hubertis99 it takes about 4 to 5 hours to fully charge and like 2 hours to get like 2 bars and like 30mins. for it to have 1 bar but, it would die fast. and get the wall charger like $30.00 and it charges faster then the USB computer charger that comes with it ^^" HAHA! I just got one too :D

Notez que différentes versions du firmware sont en circulation. Le firmware est flashé à l'usine cela veut dire qu'il ne peut être changé. Les Archos 3 plus récent bénéficient d'un firmware plus évolué. Par contre, incapable de vous dire comment trouver ces dernières versions.

Note that different firmware versions are in circulation. The firmware is flashed to the plant means it can not be changed. The 3 most recent Archos benefit from a more advanced firmware.

VERY POOR instructions.. Nightmare to get a video to play in good quality with sound in sync...Dont buy it specifically to watch video as it will get you very frustrated .Took me several days to get a video onto it with sound in sync.Only achieved this at low/poor quality.Down to player as plays back fine on pc via archos and usb cable.. Spend a bit more and get something better

Hey, To favorite a sond, just hold your finger on the song, a small menu will come up at the bottom, then click Add To Favorites.

I have to say, being fan of Archos devices for a long time... that i was disappointed by generations that came after the AV500. Then I saw the Archos 3 Vision which was promising and added features never seem before and some that were lacking in new generations... Then again after seeing this video and reading over this device Im still disappointed... mostly because of the "virtual scroll wheel" and the FM Transmitter needing headphones plug AND battery life.

But what I was really disappointed with was this non-futuristic look (very generic), and what seems to be a new light on a touch screen iPod, with that virtual scroll wheel thing... Ugh... I bought an Archos to get AWAY from the iPod. Not to build on it. =_=
