Is it just me or the old one looks better, more believable than the new one? I mean, going for the realistic look never really works in modern films. . . It's the same with automatons that you can touch and CGI creatures that you know they aren't there.

Great editing job. Ignore all the anal nerd comments here from the rest of the trainspotters, they never made a cool video or created a great visionary work, they just typed rubbish behind a keyboard. hehe :-) Both TRON films were and are audio/visual delights for every seasoned cyberpunk, futurist & fantasist.

In 28 years all we got was less autenthicity. BAck when tron came out that world was a 3d representation of what people saw on their computer screens. Now when Legacy came out playing snake and pong in 3d makes no sense anymore. Also Taking away the black sky made it feel like they were out in the real world in some futuristic dystopia, not inside a made up world.

Don't forget that in the original Tron the characters were coloured by hand, frame by frame. Anyway nice compilation ^^

some of the Tron scenes you are showing isn't computer graphics at all. it was traditional cel animation on top of live action frames. the light cycles and solar sailor were computerized. I think the explosion of the MCP was too.
