again this show WAS WAYYYYY better then the 2007 show. the belzhar whatever was too "ASKDFJAK EHH" this show was upbeat fun i think your show next year should be like this.
I definitely liked this one more than 2007. Red Cape Tango was still my favorite to march, but we did amazing here. My shins hurt so bad in the end, came off the field almost in tears. I wouldn't trade it for anythin though; left my soul at that competition.
the percussion "dutting" is very distracting and evidently doesnt work, as the first attack and few of the releases are slammed...percussion needs a lot of work. i like the piccolo solo, very neat sound...wish the woodwinds were a bit more forefront, but brass sound seems strained at times, but well controlled, then again the parts arent really that challenging. good m&m. percussion arrangements are amateur.
These are highschool students, maybe a 1/5 are seniors and juniors the rest are inexperienced freshmen/sophomore's struggling to keep forms and stay in step. What do you expect?
uh, no. not at this competition level. that is the problem that American education and business levels have faced: "what do you expect?" questions and continuously dropping standards and eventually, its just passable, but horrible quality. Sorry, Im not buying into it, not when this age group can do more.
I'm saying the majority of the people marching out there are marching in a marching band for the first time, as in this is their first show. Which part is confusing?
Heh, I don't think you understand how the Westmoore marching band functions..We don't exactly have auditions..Westmoore is noted as having good experienced direction and staff..it's just the members of the band..they make it "difficult" to excel at anything..trust me.
are you suggesting there is an "underground" conspiracy to make the band unsuccessful? this, organized by a few renegade students? perhaps being funded by the director of another local band, highly competitive with this one?
just saying... but being a former trombonist in a high ranked band in OK, and placing in the top 25 at BOA nationals... and having grown up with two older siblings in even better bands than i was in, i can say this isn't really that great... especially the lack of good formations, where the hell is the low brass's power, and the "dutting" is very ineffective.
Well I'm so glad that these hardworking students have your opinion to beat them down. FYI, they did go to a BOS-STL that year...and were only 1 spot out of from finals...and made finals the next year.
The dutting is amplified because of the way they place the mic at OBA. The video group is HORRIBLE so ALL the sound is freaky weird. Check out any of the other schools' OBA vid performances. Even BA sounds bad. Not every contest can have hi-def recordings. They also are a suddler winning band.
you guys should check out "Centerville 2003" on google video/youtube, centerville did bizarro too, their version was slightly different, but I like your version too. Jjust thought you should check that out. Good Luck in you new season.
These uniforms look exactly like BA's new uniforms.

The 2006 show is definitely better than the 2007. I found myself skipping through the 2007 show ..Which is a sign of a boring show.

Pose that question to an obviously poor direction and staff.

The dutting is amplified due to mic placement. If you're going to "judge" a band, be there, not a YouTube vid.

Not embarrassing at all! You did a great job, as did all of the band! I am proud of everyone of you! (Senior Flute mom this year.)

Aww, the thing you did at the very end isn't bad at all!! I think it's cute. :)

I wish I had conducted better; watching this video was tough for me because I blame myself for all the musical problems.
And that thing I do at the end...how embarrassing!
Good job to all the marchers and guard, though!
