Hi Kauaisfinest yeah you may be right it just when that v boost comes in all hell breaks loose yee haa . The Honda X4 is more smooth power delivery . the V Max is an awesome bike though and i really want to try out the Yam MT01 as well.
Anyway bought a Suzuki DRZ 400 SM as a second fun bike for winter its a hoot great fun and turns me into middle aged hoodlum he he
my vmax(2007) is vicious and down right nasty. i like it. but i think for the long haul, i want the x4. more comfortable and handles better. i fight with my max and the seating is terrible. the x4 even looks great. i'd have to buy both!
Hi again yeah respect bro the V Max is awesome cult bike i would love to own one . the X4 does handle a bit for a custom although it does not like quick direction changes ha ha . nearly went through a hedge last summer going fast on twisties. I think both bikes very similar in looks and style with the V Max being the more mental of the two
yeah,i nearly went through a hedge on my x4 on twisties to!!.doesnt like turning to quickly, but better than a max as that tries to kill you every time you ride it.x4 for me everytime, comfy, fast and chunky looks.
Oh forgot to say the ive had my X4 for 7 years now the reason i bought one was they are so rare in Scotland ive only ever seen one other X4 . my bike always attracts attention at rallys . folk always say what is it...great
if we were rich we'd probably have so many bikes in our garage. i bought the vmax for its straight line performance. i think you'd like it especially the vboost. but that's all it has. forget cornering. sometimes i end up going over the center line. wish the x4 was still be sold. i would buy that bike. it would handle, is powerful, and comfortable. i also like big bikes because i'm not really small. but if i had to choose, i'd take the x4 first then the vmax.
Yeah know what you meen i love having a choice of my DRZ SM or my X4 i use the DRZ all year round . and yeah i would love a V Max in my garage ..they have a lot of Kudos being a cult bike also.
I was going to trade my bike in against new CB 1300 and they offered my £1500 for my X4 ...nooo way i just laughed
keep the x4...really nice bike. vmax is big and nasty but the x4 is big and just smooth all around. i prefer that type of bike. wonder if you could put a supercharger on the x4?
Yeah man i dont think i could part with the X4 it is turbine smooth ive had it 7 years now. and yep you can turbo charge them i went to the big X4 rally in Lunen Germany in 2006 and a guy had one it was awesome cant remember what the bhp was but it was a lot.
Anyway my honda is standard except for K&N filter modified exhausts and custom parts its a total torque monster though ha ha ...cheers from Scotland to the USA
I can answer that i drag raced my Honda X4 against a Yam V Max at Crail in scotland a few years ago.. My honda toasted him off the line and was in front , but then the V Max V boost kicked in he beat me through the quarter by 1 second
i have a 2008 vmax and it's fast. but i think it should be an even race with your x4 even with the vboost. maybe if you raced longer the x4 would have caught up?
i raced a vmax and there was nothing in it,the x4 soon powers past anyhow.plus, when you hit a bend on a max a bit lively, you crap yourself, when you hit a bend on a x4 you just fart!!but stay on!!lmao
my x4 is model 2000 with only 400km
i never have time to enjoy it but decided to start riding it every weekend
i will add some videos soon

About how much does a used one cost? My dad has a Valkyrie, but it is too big for him, and he dosen't want a 2 cylinder.
FuzzySixx 3 years ago
Mind you the X 4 is a big puppy as well not as big as the Valkyrie ... warning though its not the most comfortable bike to ride but sure is cool
