  • great monkey wankin music!

  • Perfect elevator music.

  • and suddenly, everything is A-OK

  • I like all of Pink Floyd, and yet I can't stand this song. It makes me want to smash stuff.

  • @stilldasayme Then you are a tool

  • 17 people are not people

  • Does this remind anyone else of a Donovan song?

  • @theluckyfr0g fag

  • @Harryhoodz

Oh shut up, it kind of does. In any case I commented over a month ago.

  • @theluckyfr0g I'm thinking Harry Nilsson ??

  • Why do people bother to put the correct images with a song? Its like taking literally a bunch of metaphors. Its kind of wack.

  • un chanson magnifique et un album magnifique

  • I honestly think Meddle would be the best Pink Floyd album if it wasn't for the barking dog on Seamus and YNWA at the end of Fearless.

  • @EvertonianRoar - Roger gets too carried away sometimes!!

  • I have smoked weed so many times while listening to this song. Such a relaxing feeling

  • when i searched up san tropez on youtube today the first thing that came up was some crappy song called "welcome to st tropez".. with 48 million views... I don't want to live on this planet anymore :(

  • @PSXGAMER22 hilarious!

  • @PSXGAMER22 But the good thing is, that shit lasts months, at best...

  • perfect :)

  • Shall we dance, mother?

  • I am thinking, the lyrics of this song is more like the one from Syd era.

  • To me, this sounds like a non-insane, more cosmopolitan version of Syd Barrett's "Love You".

  • classic floyd...a departure from their typical sound but righteous non-the-less.

  • @digitalmarley amazing ability to span the spectrum while staying true to their identity, few few bands could get away with doing this this well

  • 17 people are stupid

  • People like drugs and people like Pink Floyd. Everyone here has the right to express how the music speaks to them; be that with drug references or not. I am not saying their music is about drugs, but if you think any member of Pink Floyd would have passed a drug test after they got done recording this album, you Sir do drugs!

  • and i bet if anyone wrote this song, then the "likes" and "dislikes" would be reversed.

  • pink floyd loved pushing the envelope on any kind of music. drug references are not what they were doing! to them it was just making music!

  • kool little floyd tune ......so great in the pre darkside years!!!!!

  • beautie

  • this song is classy.love it

  • Can people stop talking about drugs on pink floyd videos? Some people don't need to kill brain cells with chemicals in order to enjoy good music.

  • @eedobaba7726 everything was good until that last sentence, LOL. JK!!!!

  • @eedobaba7726 Don't like "drugs" don't do them. But don't generalise and call everything a brain-killing chemical. Some substances which are called "drugs" by everyone are just plants which are even medicinal rather than harmful...

  • @eedobaba7726 i wasn't on drugs and i love their music.

  • @SnowWhiteDove7 Well worth saying, Dovish one..

The fact is, that music is not very good if it requires the listener to be stoned.

And the fact is, that Floyd themselves, save poor Syd, were not drug soaked musicians. Rick Wright, God rest his soul, who wrote this tune(I'm pretty sure) did acid once or twice and didn't much care for it.

  • @written12 It's was written by Roger Waters. And yes, apparently everybody in Floyd, except for Syd, were not into drugs

  • @ManfredDeJesus

Richard Wright was a coke head... That was one of the fundamental reasons he was booted out during the wall. Roger and Nick were drinkers and Dave and Rick messed around with drugs... Or so says Nick mason

  • what a groove

  • Pink Floyd and grass go together like Sarah Palin and Facism :)

  • - One of the songs if not the

  • @apow369 Hey man... only joking... I Don't HATE Bieber, and I do agree about the publicity part.

But the fact remains: I Would prefer this song over any of Biebers... :/

But you shouldn't point your hate at people so uneducated and foolish such as myself... only suggestin'

  • Sit back, light up and feel the music...

  • i love metal but i also love music with class. blaze it

  • @slamdancedave20

So you could say... you like Metal, and Meddle!

  • @hannaaahfish hahaha, great one!

  • @slamdancedave20 Metal can be classy too.

  • @randomstofil I agree. I didn't mean metal has no class. They are just two different worlds

  • 11 People prefer Justin Bieber over this song...

  • @quietitay

More than one person that read that comment agrees, but thought it was unnessesary.

  • @quietitay shut up. do you want to know the real reason why beiber is so popular? it's because any publicity is good publicity, and people like you who have the intentions of spreading the hate to him (and not the encouragement of any good music, just all-around hate) are actually the ones doing the hard labor in him gaining popularity.

  • Love..Love this song!!! swaysssss

  • :)

  • Tis is our dog walking song When we put this on the 3 AmStaffs & 1 Staffy know its time to go for a walkie !

  • @LordGandor3

    you have too many dogs.

  • @EyeHawk777 Nah, they all get along fine & we have plenty of love for all of them & they are a great burglar deterrent

  • @LordGandor3

all the better for you then, my dog bites anything that moves! :D

  • :)

  • In my opinion, A fan doesn't care about "fillers" blah blah. Some accidents/goof offs turn into a blessing...Be happy that people are listening to these albums! "Filler" or not, San Tropez happens to be one of MY "favorites"(impossible to pick a fav PF song/album though!) And as far as song meanings and points, we never REALLY REALLY know that. There is no need to argue with each other about why we have great things...most musicians just want us to feel it...just sayin!

  • Comment removed

  • you are all right....and all wrong....missing the songs point.

St. Tropez....I.e. getting away from all seriousness to a beach... Which is the point.

Filler or not it takes us all to a good place if we let it. FLOYD FOREVER. rum drinks?

  • Meddle is my fav floyd album.

  • Couldn't help but walk in time with the song when walking to school today

  • This is, in my opinion, Pink Floyd's best album. And this song is just one of the gems from it.

  • im blessed to experience the music of the 70's and 80's

  • Oh how I wish I were in San Tropez in 1970... seemed like a really cool time then. Like what the word "cool" really means....

  • is this really pink floyd

  • @coxhoe789

    yes

  • @coxhoe789 Yep, but surely one of the weaker songs and more of a "filler" on the album.

  • @Murgroena Yes, but still is an amazing song, pink floyd have just a couple songs with this ''jazz'' sound, the other one is in the album More, where Richard Wright show how versatile he was. The songs on this album are really underated because of the B side, wich steals all the merit.

  • @Murgroena filler? youre lame. this is one of my favs

    from Floyd/

  • @axe187187 If this is one of your favs then you are lame. It IS sort of a filler, even floyd admitted to it. I'm a huge Floyd fan so stfu.

  • @sucramnormark u r a moron... who r u to tell someone they're lame for their choice in favrt pf songs... "i'm a huge floyd fan so stfu..." - really... so yor favs should be evryons favs... or close to it... u obviously have not focused much on the lyrical content of many of their songs

  • @caliwaters88 No, if this is one of his favs then he's lame for not letting others have a different opinion. It was ME that got bashed, not the other way around... idiot.

All I said this song is a filler on the album, a song they didn't work as much on to put the focus on Echoes

    Stop being a filthy elitist

  • @caliwaters88 And secondly; Who are you to tell me I have not focused on the lyrical content? You are acting in the exact way you tell me I am. There is a little something called taste and opinion. I believe this song to be a filler on the album (and even people who worked closely with the recording process). If that has to cause so much frustration for you then you sir, have a problem.

  • mr ukkfayooyay is correct the fashists who promote rap, disco and metal crap have overdone it.

  • Love this Song!!!

  • i think i know the very left woman at 0:55

but not realy sure if it's her x[...

  • my favorite song, people add me.

  • PINK FLOYD/San Tropez このクールで、さりげなく、リラックスした感じがイイ。

  • IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS SONG YOU DON'T LIKE MUSIC GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM THE WORLD NOW

  • @Squidsalot43 Dont sugar-coat it,tell us how you really feel...

  • this song is as relaxing as marijuana, mkaaaay

  • 10/5 I am missing summer already...

  • Shit. Arguments to read during this beautiful song. Pretty funny combo, actually.

  • Greatest band EVER!!!! Pink Floyd is God!

  • Gear!

  • i love europe

  • I never heard about a single person who said that he doesnt like pink floyd.

  • @Maxito4321 I don't like them................Ok I'm lying, they are fucking amazing!

  • Mark Suciu.

  • Most overlooked Pink Floyd song. Great....No...PERFECT song. Who wouldn't want to be in San Tropez chilling out?

  • Nice and relaxed. This song is Pink Floyd before they were eaten by money.

  • @Barqu3ntine get away

  • @Barqu3ntine dont speak if you dont have anything to speak, just be quiet

  • 2:16 : "making a date with rita pavone"

  • Where the fuck is San Tropez? France?

  • @bigsurhiker san tropez is a spanish name, so maybe spain or mexico

  • @zectofrazer It's in France, guys, on the Cote d'Azur, east of Marseille, very close to the Italian border.

  • @bigsurhiker Yeah.

  • this song always puts a smile on my face, i have the meddle vinyl and it sounds INCREDIBLE

  • If the word "Funky" had existed in 1971, it would have been used to describe this song.

  • Apparently a lot of people really dislike this song. Personally I love it . In fact all of the meddle album makes me think of summer and the sea, and I want to fetch the board and head for the waves :-)

  • this is so in syd barrett's tune

  • I'm in love with this song man.

  • good photos, but at 0:59 could you not have gotten another pic other than random ppl drinking lol

  • sweet song. easy going. nice to hear.

  • @shaunandrewsykes apt comment

  • The CD from where this albuym is from, Meddle, is the most underrated CD I ever heard. The beauty of the Floyd is that they didn;t sound like the 70s, they sounded from far away.

  • Waters the true genius behind Pink Floyd.

  • this has a tie with atom heart mother for my favorite PF album. Has the correct ballence of psychedelic roots, yet still makes good musical scene,

  • There's still intellectual music today, but it's just not very popular. But Floyd wasn't very popular until dark side, so who's to say that there won't be more great bands in the future like pink floyd??

  • @theocean1973 I dunno.. They were very popular before Dark side. Soundtrack to the Film More really started their fame...

  • @theocean1973 haha im working on it!

  • @theocean1973 I, and think (hope) a lot of people waiting for thats

  • @theocean1973 Man, there are plenty great bands today, among drone and experimental, or stuffs like "Prince Rama" are making today's psychedelic sound. Unfortunatly, they won't be heard on the radio because peoples don't buy it. There's also lots of new kinds of music others than rock music, and there's still some jazz that smells funny.

  • fantastica!

  • This is the kind of versatility bands had back in the day......not like the formula rock of today. This whole album was a perfect example...blues,hard rock, acoustical simplicity like this song....they did it all.Can "Lincoln Park" or "Tool" do this? Doubt it.They`d be too scared to.

  • @gorgaphliaz Tool would, they're funny guys.

  • These days all you need for a hit record is to have a "thumpa-thumpa" beat in the background and to talk over it like this: EVERY NIGGA IN DA HOOD, GOT TO KNOW IMA FUCKEM UP GOOD, GOT MY GAGES AND GRENADES, AND MY MUTHA FUCKIN SHADES, WHERE MY NIGGAZ AT?, WHO GIVES A SHIT, FUCK DAT..... etc etc . Goes platinum in two days.

  • @ukkfayooyay well i'd buy it

  • @ukkfayooyay ROFL, my friend.

  • @ukkfayooyay

    THE SIMILAR PRISONERS

    cdbaby(dot)com/cd/similarprisoners

  • @ukkfayooyay Amen. Nothing more to say dude, sums it up beautifully and succinctly.

  • @ukkfayooyay quit attacking black music. im white and don't particularly care for rap or hiphop, but there are still very talented people out there

  • @Thebrowntown1234 I'm not attacking black music. I love Louis Armstrong, Cole Porter, Billie Holliday, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Winton Marsalis, and many other black musical geniuses and their wonderful music. What I don't like is thugs from housing projects banging their fists on garbage cans and making rhymes about bitches, guns, drugs and killing.

  • @ukkfayooyay fair enough, but just for future reference; refrain from using the word 'nigga' if you aren't trying to bring race or ethnicity into a topic. Its a pretty aggressive word to use.

  • @ukkfayooyay HAHAHAHAHA. Made my day.

Oh and its either that or have your voice auto tuned!

  • hahahah it looks like croatia!

  • When I first heard this song, I though I was listening to Ween. lol

  • 1970-1972 my favorite years of pink floyd

  • @zacharyfloyd1 the best years of floyd is 1967 straight through to the last released studio album lol

  • SLOWDEATH-AZAB My favorite "kickback" song when it was first released

  • what I wouldnt have given to be at the floyd reunion the other day... they played To Know Him Is To Love Him by Spector, and then WYWH, ABITW, and comfortably numb. everyone cross your fingers for another album...

  • @AlecKronicle It wasn't a pink floyd reunion. Gilmore and Waters played a few songs together for a charity.

  • @swervin1979 nah I would call that a reunion since that 2/3 of the surviving members and they're the most important

  • Reach for a peach ?????????

  • @deansusky This sounds like something left over from the Syd Barrett era.

  • great contemporary bandds

    dr dog!!!

    the black keys

    radiohead

    phish

    fleet foxes

  • It was an amazing album but now they are nothing :(

  • Piece of ART. Today music, with few exceptions like Radiohead, are poor examples of Art. Pink Floyd will be study in the future in Composition classes.

  • really gay

  • @Genderlese over 9000

  • San Tropez? It is Saint Tropez

  • @gabriel94220 they went to saint tropez then wrote te song called san tropez, just so it wouldn't be too obvious

  • @gabriel94220 san tropez is a town in france.

  • @sarok17 Really? I live in Paris and I didn't know where it was obviously.

  • @sarok17 Really?

My dad told me it was somewhere around San Fransisco.

    Probably associated the sans then.

  • its impossible to be original anymore, everythings been done already

  • This song has a cool trippy beat lol shine on

  • A brilliant and lovely song from Pink Floyd. I happen to particularly enjoy the spectacular photography. Unlike some later works from PF, this has a nice inspirational upbeat sound to it. Thank you for sharing this!

  • i love the literal pictures to go along with the music :D

  • @thebigguyconnor Lol, same here.

  • SO Relaxing... i really like pink floyd

  • This is such a great album! P F for life!

  • Too bad i cant go today .....maybe tommorow.

  • I could listen to this album all day.

  • Meddle is definitely my favorite Pink Floyd album. Echoes is (to me) the greatest song they ever composed. Though I love all of their albums, Meddle is the only album by them besides Dark Side Of The Moon that I listened to non-stop!

  • It amazes me how many people on so many of Pink Floyd's videos say that they don't know anyone who listens to good music like this.

ALL of my friends listen to Pink Floyd, and my friends are diverse as hell.

  • @Grave187RIP13 You are quite lucky, then. I can think of 4 of my friends who actually LISTEN to Pink Floyd, but they are just into the mainstream albums. Count your blessings =)

  • @Grave187RIP13 well i have a just 3 frnds who listen to pink floyd.

  • I'm one of the lucky... I have ONE friend who listens to good music like this

  • Nice Relaxing Song.

    With Some Nice

    Relaxing Pictures<3

    This Song Is Great(:

    Pink Floyd-Forever:D

  • dear god i love that song *_* such sweet emotions floating!

  • the first time i heard this song i got wood, no joke

  • Sadly, born in a shitty era of music, i can proudly say that im am the minority of teens that litsens to good music, such as, anything that comes out of Gilmour. Please come to my country ill top the bill just to see this great band performs (from whats left it of :( R.I.P. Wright). -All the way from Argentina!

  • Dude, totally agree, i think that Gilmour isn´t a thing that anyone would hear, just people who actually like music, Saludos desde Costa Rica

  • I from US and tottally agree! this new music isnt even real music because they're voices are barely even real after all that editing and stuff!

    Pink floyd is the best!

  • I know how you feel I'm 16 and don't know anyone else that listens to good music like this

  • @dam1an324 Me too (not from Argentina though)
