  • I got to hold one of the 2010 gold medals today =D

  • forced to watch this boring video.... :/ for school

  • They need to make an unoptaimium medal.

  • The Olympic medals have contemporary Aboriginal artwork to represent the location of the Olympics (Canada), it's not a grievance for native people. The whole reason for the artwork is for unity of the nations, as the artist stated in the video...if you would pay attention, maybe you would learn something. Otherwise, don't make comments that are contradicting.

  • i like this medals very very much :)

  • truly captures the olympic ideals...

  • These are in my opinion the nicest looking Olympic medals that I have ever seen!

  • @JJPasadena

    AGREE WITH U

  • increible!!! que hermoso, is good to see that still there are wonderful things in this world

  • Beautiful medals, great story and video! A world of friends is a world of peace!

  • verry verry verry verry goooooooooood!

  • Allez la France =)

  • Hello,looser france,thanks,bye

  • TG toi, déjà tu pourrais faire un ptit effort à te la ramener comme ça, tu pourrais faire en sorte que je comprenne ton commentaire, parce que là c'est raté!!!

  • People making fun of aboriginals and First Nations descendants have no idea on the history of Canada.

I don't care what race, color or sexual orientation you are, we are all equal. It's truly embarrassing to read these disrespectful and vulgar comments.

  • Its sad to see how people need to always complain about everything... Why talk about politics and fucking money, we all know that these things will always piss off us. The ceremony is talking about peace, i dont care what color you are or how rich you are, you can be white, black, yellow, red, purple, i dont care, you are my brothers. Enjoy and stop complaining.

P.S. I cant find the full ceremony video on the net, someone have a good link?

    thx

  • Canadians are so unique, great, creative and powerful people! I am proud of being Canadian!

  • gorgeous (:

  • @CanadaguyRudey I don't agree with the ugly comment but I agree that it's supposed to be about athleticism and Greece, not a grievance for native peoples. A unique design doesn't mean "fuck it, lets do whatever we want".

  • @anikinippon

    WAKEY WAKEY times are changing.

The original modern Olympic first place was awarded a SILVER medal.

The Runner up was awared a BRONZE medal - thats it.

NO GOLD MEDALS never, never, never, until one day some idiot said "fuck it, lets do whatever we want"

By the way, most modern GOLD medals are in fact silver with gold plating.

In essence we now have two silver medals and one bronze.

  • @ythb123 I'm not talking about the metal in the medals themselves, they can have a Palladium medal for all I care. The design on the medal are supposed to convey athletic virtues, a sense of classic Greece or an ode to Athens, or something. Tell you what, on the 2012 Olympic medals do you think it would be proper to put a basket of fish and chips on the medal because it's held in London?

  • @anikinippon: the more traditional medals can be found at the summer olympics. the winter olympic medals gives room for creativity. in 1992 they have glass, franite in 1994, lacquer and color in 1998, the difference shapes resembling like a rock in 2002, the 2006 medal is supposed to be an ancient coin while they went for the undulating surfaces for the 2010 medals. winter olympics gives unique chances for artistry.

  • @ythb123 asshole

  • yea it means that fuckhead,

  • Beautiful!!

They menaged to make not only winning performances but even the medal unique and personal, beeing all the medals are slightly different. Great idea, fits to the Olympic spirit.

  • @BigdealXXIII FAIL at spelling being.... :/ proper grammar my friend.

  • those are the most original, beautiful medals i've ever seen

  • you are so so so dumb,,,go have some education before you put some comments here. Its very painful to see that some people like you think that they are smart, while they have no fuckn clue what they are talking about.

  • Very informative. Neat that there is this video for sending it to my out of country friends. They all love it.

  • The conceptual and artistic design for the medals is stunning.

  • Can't wait... and the torch is about to start the Journey across the country!

  • Really?! Sweet.

  • The idea of kumbaya Olympism is cheesy, but it's the Olympics so everyone admires the ideals - and rightfully so.

  • I think this year the Sedins will look better in silver or bronze

  • Can't wait for February, hope the protesters don't ruin everyones fun.

  • Sorry Sedins! Love you guys, but you can't go near those gold medals.

Silver will look better on you anyway.
