The Olympic medals have contemporary Aboriginal artwork to represent the location of the Olympics (Canada), it's not a grievance for native people. The whole reason for the artwork is for unity of the nations, as the artist stated in the video...if you would pay attention, maybe you would learn something. Otherwise, don't make comments that are contradicting.

The original modern Olympic first place was awarded a SILVER medal.

The Runner up was awared a BRONZE medal - thats it.

NO GOLD MEDALS never, never, never, until one day some idiot said "fuck it, lets do whatever we want"

By the way, most modern GOLD medals are in fact silver with gold plating.

In essence we now have two silver medals and one bronze.

The design on the medal are supposed to convey athletic virtues, a sense of classic Greece or an ode to Athens, or something. @anikinippon: the more traditional medals can be found at the summer olympics. the winter olympic medals gives room for creativity. in 1992 they have glass, franite in 1994, lacquer and color in 1998, the difference shapes resembling like a rock in 2002, the 2006 medal is supposed to be an ancient coin while they went for the undulating surfaces for the 2010 medals. winter olympics gives unique chances for artistry.

You don't see a Samurai or some crazy shinto spirit on a Tokyo Olympic medals for a reason. It's like putting a McDonald's cheeze burger on a science award, it doesn't speak for itself, it has to be explained, that's why the artists failed with a passion.

What an amazing story... we should be proud of our Canada games.... the inukshuk, the medals, the motto....everything have a beautiful story behind it.... Canada is a powerful place ... and I Hope everybody will see as much I see in those medal and in this amazing country I live in from coast to coast, from the english side and the french side I live in.
