Having just watched Season 2, it's pleasing to see that Ollie is far less of an arsehole in Season 3. He's genuinely quite unlikeable in the second series, having been one of the better characters in the first.
when i first watched the series I was mesmerised by Capaldi, but re watching it has really made me appreciate the strength of the other characters. I particuraly like the Glenn Ollie interaction
i only just got the opening lines : -ed get tom rudd in now we re offering him northern ireland- -i think hes expecting to be offered transport- -tell him hes taking the bus to george best airport- oh man everything about this show is solid gold and i fcking hate TV
I like the Diane Abbott allusion: keen on social mobility, anti-grammar school, comprehensive mad... But sent her kids to a private school.
Or Denis Healey: loved the NHS, all for equality, critic of the market, anti-PFI, anti-internal market, anti-competitive tendering... And had his wife treated in a private hospital.
This is so much like real government - they have absolutely no money for social spending, but getting in a wardrobe of designer clothes for the minister is no problem.

I love Malcolm's little smile when he clocks Nicola's taking the piss with the heroin comment. He looks a little impressed.

it's okay, but it certainly lacks the class and elegance of "Yes, Minister"

@jradetzky I think it ismore a true reflection of politics and perhaps society lacking the class and elegance of the 'Yes, Minister' era.

@Liamisace True, the "chavitisation" of British society seems unstoppable

@jradetzky Well I'm sure Winston Churchill was fucking and blinding 70 years ago, too. Swearing isn't synonymous with chavism.
