you say you dont understand how can somebody have 1000 soldiers on the battlefield, the game suports 144 groups per side...

Well you have 144 groups on each side and in each group you can put lots of soldiers...let say you have 10 soldiers in 1 group.

144 x 10= 1440 thats 1440 soldiers only on 1 side and there are 3 sides.

You can make a battle with a lot of soldiers but do not put them on a small area like 500 meters ( this isnt midle ages or Rome total WAR) spred the on few square miles!

@abazaba8910 $650USD should buy a decent set up for most modern games.With $1000 i'd say look out for these.Intel i5 650 3.2 processor.ATI 4850 HD Gpu or if you looking for better graphics hit the 5000 - 6000 series.For ram 4GB DD2 should be fine but if you want smooth gaming go for atleast 4GB DDR3 Ram.And for PSU atleast 350Watt.for a OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

@WRH90059 You know nothing, to actually suggest a 350W PSU for a reasonably modern setup. Besides, not counting GPU, my new computer cost me 599€. It's an i7, with 8GB of DDR3, 650W power, mid-high pricerange Asus motherboard, and a 10,000 RPM HDD for Win 7. The GPU i still use today is a Geforce 9800 GTX+. While not a powerhouse, and lacking a support for DX11, i didn't have enough money at the time to buy a newer one, however buy a new Geforce today sets you back about 300, so total 899€.

@WRH90059 Regardless, 350W isn't viable for any modern set up, and i build computers for a living, as well as maintenance and repair, so maybe you have nothing to argue about. :) It's a miracle that on a DDR3 board 350W can even boot without hitching, but it'll likely shut down (or depending on the board, downclock) on anything close to full load.

@shotgunsam666 350w was fine 5 years ago in a dell optiplex. Oh wait, no it wasn't. Even those used 450 and 500, depending whether the processor was Pentium 4 or Celeron D. It's simply not good enough on any usage, especially not that setup. If you want to have a 350w processor, and just for 'basic computing', get yourself an early pentium 4 or Celeron prior to the D series, those you can run with a 350W PSU. Otherwise, don't dream on it. There's no point of ever having 350W.

Yes.

It would be extremely laggy setting up all 600 soldiers with triggers/functions etc.. tho.

There is mission maker tools that allow you to specify what the AI does, so you can set up enemy bases at east, and then command your battalion against the enemy's. This is probably the most versatile war game you will ever play, with so many mods, and different things you can do. Its playability is through the roof.

This isnt really that impressive. that's just rendering a lot of polygons. these soldiers are just idling doing nothing. getting even a quarter of them to fight will probably bring a computer to it's knees.

Simple, 144 groups of UNLIMITED size. You probably had Hyperthreading on which is why your framerate sucked. Also, the draw distance does not need to be maxed out (5000 km is enough for air and ground).
