I'm trying to get the american mentality "why keep old crap and why remember the past?. why keep old exciting and beautiful elevators when we can replace them with modern senseless scrapmetal? Why keep manual doors when you can have boring and ugly automatic?"
there should also be security controls at every elevator so you cant ride it before completely undressing and using hours showing 100s of identity papers. all this while guns are pointing at you.
an old elevator in the us? i guess it's just waiting to be destoryed by the modern-mania americans. THey must have forgot all about it. what a shame. it would have been restored and loved forever here in Denmark. i can only ask myself why americans are eliminating old elevators. what have they done to you. what are you trying to achieve

I saw string on the sides of the door. Maybe it opens up like a garage door. It looks like the door is hanging from string. Also, it wasn't in contact with the ground.

looks like an old elevator, doesnt work, probly is old, and thats the rear door in the back, it doesnt work...its old, thats an old elevator, it doesnt work though...

Might actually be a fold door if it's that old. Looks like it's composed of three pieces.

I've seen one of these types of doors move. It goes straight up into the ceiling.

They look like very old Otis elevator, but I wonder if they can be repaired.
