i can tell u that an 89 240sx came with a SOHC the DOHC wasnt introduced until 1994 with the new body style. ive owned 2 89's in my time along with many other nicer cars (car god rest their souls). learn what the F*$& ur driving before u hammer it, thats the first rule.

welded diff is nice to have but its not rly safe when u trying not to drift like in the rain lol u spinout outta nowhere lol. just start with a viscous lsd first

@CloudMoua usally its the other way around ..better to learn with a weled diff cause usally gettin into drifitng ur on a budget..its more predictable and instead of spending $350 for a vlsd/....get to know ur car with some manual labor and remove the diff ..weld it for $20 bucks...youll be sliding in 2 hours...spend the rest on tires!

my uncle just got a 89 240sx SOHC hes putting a LS1 in it thay say it fits without eney work its imported from japan with magnaflow pipes it only has 160,000 miles on it not bad 4 a 20 year old car it was tookn care of a lot it has a adjusteble suspention he got it 4 a ATV 07 RECON HE BACICLY STOLE IT. u have mad drifting skills my uncle and i are going 2 try 2 cdrift it hope it will do it with a SOHC. @johngorgis you can basically drift with stock everything but it's better if you have an aftermarket sus so the car can handle weight transfers better, the ebrake button "drift knob" so you don't have to worry about it getting stuck in the up position and it's better to have an aftermarket diff, I used to slide my sil80 with an open diff but it was hard, once I got my nismo 2way it was cake, and maybe upgraded brakes, I have z32 brakes on mine
