  • Politicians are criminals. Simple as that. But you know, so as long as people vote for them, the system will continue to churn out these politicians.

  • Funniest thing i've seen this year - David Cameron cycling to Parliament for a photo-call, followed by two cars full of bodyguards.

    Hypocrite.

  • not bad for a man who get s a £1,000 a mounth from the tax payer to pay his council tax and £800 a mounth to pay his morgage from the tax payer ah poor we sole

  • If I had the chance to run anyon over, it'd be Cameron.

  • yes, probably with a lorry would be suitable :) i expect people dont see cameron as evil because all this fuss over brown at the moment makes voters turn to the next biggest party - the torys. People will just see when cameron enters office that he is not the miricle worker that he, and other proclaim him 2 be, and the BBC is biased against Labor because they got rid of the last ruler of the BBC, so that isnt really fair on the Labor

  • Couldn't agree more. But why do so many people not see that?

  • well done David - best of luck

  • Perhaps David would like to comment on a study by the highly respected Ruth Lea, which shows conclusively that if Britain were to leave the EU far from Europe not wanting to trade with us, they really would have no choice as the net 'loss' effect to them would be far greater, than the effect on the UK. Another reason why we should not surrender to Europe as David intends.

  • trouble is France is bitter enough to just put up as many trade barriers as possible

  • I fully support the conservatives in trying to oust the spendaholic labour party, who are committing more and more of taxpayers money to try and bail themselves out. Can the conservatives please properly index people's personal tax allowance so that millions of lower paid workers can be lifted out of tax or have much lower tax. Prices have more than doubled under labour, but each individual's tax allowance has not increased in line with this. This stealth tax and has hit the poorest.

  • should this right wing prick get elected it would make thatcher look like the lady with the lamp

  • The fact is that these policies implemented in Kirklees originated from the Green councillors in that town. Great that they took the ideas on board, but claiming the credit for them is less than genuine.

  • UKIP are experiencing a lot of what you say Green, Both main parties have stolen UKIP policies. Cameron is a camillion, he changes his shades of blue to suit where he is. He is a very shallow politician and he is the reason I changed from being a life long Conservative voter of nearly 40 years. Can't be a good day for the Torie, now Bob Spink has come across to UKIP, many more will follow. There are genuine honest politicians who are being stifled.

  • Hope David becomes PM!

  • Yup :D

  • This could upset things:

    William Hill said,

For the first time, there is expected to be significant interest in the performance of UKIP in the next General Election. UKIP are the only main political party to have stated in their manifesto that they intend to repeal the smoking ban. As a result, many of the UK's huge base of smokers (14M) who have seen their local pubs, clubs, casinos and bingo halls empty almost overnight as a result of the smoking ban are expected to switch loyalties to UKIP.

  • Vote Conservative!

  • i hope he wins the elections!

  • i think its gr8 that he is showing some initiative it makes you wonder why we have gordan brown in charge go dave wooo ! lol xxx :)

  • 'it does not matter in whose favour the overall balance is.' What an odd remark, of course it matters if we as a Nation are dependent on and indebted to a European Superstate, we are no longer a free Nation. It is also another myth that the Open Frontiers Policy works for the UK. We openly admit the competition, we sell off our utilities and then our prices go through the roof. As for their goods being more expensive, so what. We could then rebuild our own manufacturing base, rather not rely EU.

  • Manufacturing in the UK? Won't work. The reason we have none is because people would rather have cheap crap from China.

  • What winds me up and my mother is we have a conservatory with a plastic roof, we wanted to upgrade to slates but can't due to the stupid bulidng regs which now require foam insulation, it's stupid keeping in heat, we have interior doors and the conservatory gets red hot in summer because of the plastic roof and now can't win, next door neighbour got his just before law came in force so he has no foam. Also make solar panels VAT exempt as there a green option, they cost far too much.

  • In what respect are solar panels green? Their manufacture is both highly complicated and resource intensive, you are just shifting the location of the emissions not reducing them.

  • Not at all, a solar panel is capable of generating much more energy than it needed to be crated, or else why would millions of them be manufactured?

In addition being solid state they can pretty much last forever, unless they are attached to David Cameron's house in which case they last about two weeks before they are taken back down.

  • I have recently paid £250 for wall insulation.

I have this week paid a further £250 for extra roof insulation. Since having the roof done this week I am amazed how warm my house feels. I would certainly recommend insulation.

  • I am a pensioner and like many others live in a converted house, in a flat. I cannot be insulated because my flat forms part of a house, so, no cavity walls done, no front door or back door, all the things which cause me to have high bills. I have a back extension which is entirely independent of the house and which is icy, I put on cooker and heating for that room, and although I am eligible for free insulation no matter what the government or local party is, its a no go. onwards and downwards

  • Free Insulation ? Really, so it's not the council tax payers money then. David please don't insult the intelligence of the voter. To keep council tax down, you vote UKIP leave the EU and then use the money to reduce bills in the UK.

    Robert Feal-Martinez

    Chairman UKIP Swindon

    UKIP PPC South Swindon.

  • Except you won't be saving any money doing that because you will be paying it all out in Unemployment benefit for all the jobs that will go to the wall if you leave the EU. Not to mention all the inward investment that will go elsewhere. How about thinking a bit about all the British people who live outside the UK and those who own second homes in France and Spain, they will all pay the price for your backward closed-minded world view.

  • Britain has a net trading deficit with the EU of £350 billion since 1973, and this comment from the Economic and Financial Affairs Commissioner tends to suggest we are better off out. '"GDP growth and productivity performance have underperformed compared to other economies in an environment of global growth," the commissioner admitted.' So the European Project is obviously failing. Despite the billions they take from the UK. Britain's exit would boost not restrict our economic prosperity.

  • Leaving the EU and the customs dues that would arise would result in their goods being more expensive in the shops here-how about being honest and telling people that, leaving the EU will put prices up and cost jobs because trade employs people here, it does not matter in whose favour the overall balance is. . Your back to the 19th century idea would cost us jobs in plain language.
