  • aww look at the cat

  • Nice cat.

  • If you do a bit of research on pre-built water coolers, they're no substantially cooler in idle temperature, they're just well at keeping CPUs cooler under load. Most heatsinks beat h50 & H70 idle temps but struggle on load temps.

  • Maybe you got a bad one because my h70 ( also on an i7 920 on 4 ghz with 1.35 volts) is at about 43 c at idle an an average of 79 c while running prime 95 for about 30 min.

  • Good review and I guess they won't be selling many H70's after this?

  • whats a good temp on 100% on a few hours of prime95

  • can i knw what is the name of the display Panel infront of ur chasis?

  • @JeVolution10

    Yes sure its the NZXT

  • @JeVolution10 More accurately the NZXT Sentry LX

  • Is it me or 120mm is blowing towards inside of the case?

The other one (between radiator and the case grill) is blowing where?

Shouldn't both fans blow air out of the case through the radiator?

  • @miroslavcvejic

Its debatable, some have the setup blowing air in and other out, I have tried both ways and there really is no difference I have found!

  • @mrix2000 So both fans are blowing air in the same direction. Just to clear that out. Cheers.

  • @miroslavcvejic

Yes they are, in a push pull

  • @mrix2000 im using stock fan and i have lower cpu temp lol

  • Oh u had glasses nice cat btw

  • I'm willing to bet he didn't remove the old compound fully or something :/

  • @Kalywonkas

I have replaced many brands of coolers over the years, The old compound was removed, I am fully aware that these surfaces need to be completely clean when placing a New cooler.

  • @mrix2000 Ahhh well then i stand corrected

  • get a real, open loop water cooling system kid, this stuff gets horrible temps compared to the real deal

  • a well done review sir

  • only thing bad about these kits is the tubes dont offer very much flexibility.

  • I'm building my first gaming pc and i'm just starting to order what i can afford. Got my gigabyte 880gm-ud2h via ups today :D. I'm building this pc as i get the money. I was just curious if you still had both coolers and had like a competition or something to give the one u dont want away. I'd be very happy to be involved in that competition :D.

  • @InsanityRewritten you can get the H50 at Bestbuy for 60 bucks.

  • @KeithWasHere1

id really like to know what the best overclocking cooler is that i can get for the money. I'm probably going to get the amd 965 quad core. Anything extra like a cooler will be the last thing i get. I'm just buying stuff as i get the money.

  • @InsanityRewritten liquid nitrogen pump? lol.

  • @KeithWasHere1

Lmao, thats scraping a little out of my budget xD. I've seen some quality air coolers on tigerdirect. Thats where i'm doing most of my purchases. I saw this cooler and had to look up some vids of it in use and this one is a good example. But everyones experience is different with this stuff. I want something that i could run around 4ghz on a 965 quad core. but nothing to expensive.

  • @InsanityRewritten me and my brother did a thing to see if a computer,at the time a socket 7 K6II 500mghz with 32mb video card and 256mb ram, would run well in a small refrigerator, and the damndest thing is it did,we just packed it with sillica gel...that moisture absorbing stuff you get in briefcases,,,,to suck out all the water that the hot and cold would produce and damn if it didnt work fantastic,we drilled through the front to run our cords for mouse, video and keyboard--

  • @KeithWasHere1 he did all kinds of overclocking to his, some pretty big overclocks too something like 500mgz to like 750 or 800 buy having it in the refrigerator and also messing with the FSB settings and memory settings..i dont OC that much cause im always afraid of burning the system up,but i used mine then upgraded to a AMD athlon Slot 1 put it in the refer and it did wonderfully for like 2 years...then my house got hit by lightning and fried the wires and all that was connected to the wires.

  • @KeithWasHere1

    thats crazy haha.

  • @InsanityRewritten yeah ,but it worked,im considering doing it with my X4 940 deneb system. i mean as long as its dry in there hence the use of sillica gel or painters desecant/drying powder i dont see a downside other than not being able to get to your CD drives, but hey thats what they make external drives for....and the micro fridges are cheap these days 100 bucks or less and they get COLD!...gotta figure that's 100 or less for one hell of a cooling option.

  • @KeithWasHere1

true. just dont mess anything up. Its gonna be a few weeks before i have my rig built.

  • @InsanityRewritten i might just do that tonight and post the results and try allittle OCing while its in there...i have a like dorm room fridge i keep in the garage too keep beer cold when im working on my cars, yeah i think i might just do that, lol gonna be uploading my first Yutube video here soon, wish me luck.,oh let me know the skinny on that Sabertooth or Crosshair V motherboard ,im considering one of them for my next build.but would like to get practical feedback from actual users.

  • That is the coolest cat.

  • High Temps.

  • can you put that on a ps3?

  • I couldn't help to notice but nice cooling for your north and south bridge cooling pipes haha

  • i like how it say "intel running @ 2.67Ghz" lol

  • People need to start replacing the crappy stock fans some gear comes with. Makes a big difference with noise and cooling.

  • Thanks for this, was considering an H70 to increase airflow to my folding GPUs

    Nice vid!

  • AWWWEE!!!! LOOK AT KIIIITTTYYYYY!!!!

  • H70 has more cooling area since its thicker so when running heavy programs h70 should cool a lot better. idle doesnt tell the whole story.

  • holy ... those temp is spiking! my i7 930 air-cooled only having a temp of 40-43C on idle at 4.2Ghz. maxed out is about 76 to 80C. u should check it my fren :)

  • You are right about the paste. I recommend everyone who buy this kit NOT TO REMOVE THE THERMAL PASTE! It's very good and even better than arctic silver 5

  • I'll better stock with the h50, I dont want to wake up the roommate every time the comp turns on

  • exactly isnt that the main upgrade between h50 and h70 thepush/pull isntead of just push?

  • You should be around 30 degrees Celsius with that cooler, man. Did you apply thermal paste and make sure it's installed properly? With that high of a temp on idol, you would probably be pushing 80-90+ with full load.

  • @iTek42

Strangely not on full load the temp still stays around 65 to 75c

  • @iTek42 : I totally agree with you! I just completed my rig on intel i5 2500k stock cooling and getting a 36-40 degrees Celsius during idle! How come these water cooling products give him a higher temp than stock cooling? There must be something wrong in his system!

  • @iTek42 completly normal(look how he set his fan)pull and push instead of push and pull.

  • the comeback

  • how would you run the pump at full blast if you plug it into the motherboard?????

  • @acogscopepwn

As you can see I have the NZXT controller so I can increase the speed with that, or you can set the max speed in the bios.

  • @mrix2000 why would u buy a 480? buy a 470 and overclock it >>

  • those are high idle temps

  • thanks for the great review, I am going to buy the H70 or H50 as I am starting from scratch,

I also like your fan controller

  • Good review...I was going to upgrade, thanks for the review!

  • What kind of fan controller is that? :O

  • @EvilGLaDOS

    Hi its a NZXT Controller

  • @mrix2000

NZXT Sentry LX to be exact :)

  • Do these leak? Because that is why i am scared to get one.

  • @dpate

No there do not leak, the pipes are very strong metal insides with plastic outer, not heard of one leaking.

  • @mrix2000 So do you prefer H50 or Noctua NH-D14?

  • @dpate

I cannot personally compare as I have never used the NH-D14.

  • the cat is just like WTF is going on

  • is it loud?

  • @BetterDayz19

The pump its self cannot be heard but if you run the fans at 2000rpm they are very loud.... you do not need to run them at that speed though and 1600rpm is totally fine!

  • @mrix2000

Can you swap the fans inside for other custom fans? I was thinking of purchasing one but getting a sharkoon 120mm fan, maybe two

  • Thanks for posting this video.

You have helped me make a decision at last.

    Thumbs up for the cat.

    peace :)

  • Like everyone else has said, Idle temps dont mean much. You need to test them at full LOAD!!!

  • @allthefunnystuff

I have had the H70 for around 6 months now and there really is no difference in load temps! if you have never had one of these coolers then go for it but if you already have the H50 don't waist your money! its not a viable upgrade!

  • @allthefunnystuff

I have had this setup for over 6 months now and there is no difference on load temps.... if you were thinking about upgrading from a H50 dont bother!

  • You mounted the inside fan wrong. The grill is the side that blows the air out you should turn it around if you want warm air to exit the case instead of pumping it back in...

  • @Valentino319

I have tried the fans both ways and there is no difference in temps.

  • @mrix2000 That is really strange.. Quite dissapointed to hear that =( I was expecting this to be better than the H50 but it looks like I'm going to stick to the old H50 and myself some money and case space.. =) thanks for the review!

  • @Valentino319 Corsair actually recommends that their coolers draw cool air from OUTSIDE the case and pump it INTO the case. But if you've got a well ventilated case, I don't see how it'll make much diff.

  • Excellent review. You helped me avoid a costly choice.

  • you shouldnt compare temps at idle, water vs air idle temps are about the same untill you get load, so the same applys here, load witht the h70 should be lower than the h50

  • hey no disrespect but why do most english accented speakers say "h" as "hayche"

  • h50 look dwaf compare with h70

  • Ppl if you don't notice temp drop set yr air conditioning to 60 degrees not 78. As long as you do this and put a powerful desk fan infront of your intake then u should see lower temps compared to h50

  • btw i love the cable management, try testing it withthe radiator turned the other way round, and let us know if there are an temp changes please thank you

  • @kaysniper

Hi there I have swapped them about many times and temps don`t really change.

  • @mrix2000 cleaned of the thermal paste thoroughly b4 putting on new one?

  • @mrix2000 ..hey mate can you tell me what case that is and if those lcd temp panels are standard witht hat case..i wonder if it is availible in the US.

    Cherrio

  • pipes go on the top mate, just check out the professionals on any review page

  • M8 I think you should the firsth vent outside of your housing...The cooling will be some degrees better.I had It placed inside ant then changed It and the difference is little when you go normal speed but by overclocking I managed to get it 5*C cooler...I know I'm nobody to listen to,but If you tried you'll se the results...Nice video, best regards!

  • Ouch a waste of £85...where's your H50 now?

  • Hmm. My cat is apperently not the only one interested in PCs:P

  • Cute cat! H50 and H70 look shite... if they idle at those temps I do not want one. Might aswell buy a top end air cooler like Noctua D-14, Venomous or Megahelms with fans.. be cheaper too.

  • @JamesJohn83

    lol, you crazy?

10C you will freeze and die XD.

its around 22C in my room.

  • WHERE THE HELL IS THE WATER? I CANT FIND IN ANY VIDEO?!

  • I got my new Coolit ECO A.L.C on my Phenom II 965 on 4.160ghz (Can't hit 4.2)

I do it on Push/pull with 2 kaze 3000rpm fans and i am idling at 22C and 41C on full load.

That is a lot better than my other H70, so go for the Eco.

Dont get de coolit domino cuz it leaks a lot, go for the Eco.

  • u set it up wrong u shudnt have those temps idle i have mine OCd too at 4 GHz and im getting 35 idle and 50 load ur fans are setup wrong

  • @nonamejay87

The fans have been set up different ways and the temps are the same, I have even had them at full power of 2000rpm and still the same idle temp.

  • @mrix2000 i had that problem with higher temps too. if you haven't yet, you need to stop using the thermal compound that comes on the cooler and buy yourself some arctic silver. my Phenom2x4 idled at around 40 with the compound that came with the cooler and 22, yes 22 degrees with arctic silver.

  • For such a beast machine, you could not at least bought a graphics card that supports Aero?

  • @TheUNSCReject

GTX480 ???? whats wrong with that? lol

  • @mrix2000

These people are crazy, GTX480 is a great card.

I over clocked mine to 862/1724/2228 (4456MHZ) with 1150mv, and it beats my new GTX580 stock by around 12% or something in BC2 and Metro2033.

Keep you 480, dont go to 580, like i did, it does not worth it.

  • @mrix2000 cool thanks for the review. quick question if you have a mid tower case can h50 fit in with its large pump

  • @TheUNSCReject what kinda card do you see? I see a GTX 480. Last I checked, that could run just about any game out, flawlessly.

  • Have you had any decrease in your temps with your H70? Just curious. I'm really thinking about getting an H70 because my CoolIT Freezone is starting to take a dump. But I'm really diggin my temps at 4.0GHz on my i7 960 (about 40-43C, maybe 35-38C on a cooler day). I was just hoping I could get the same out of the H70....

  • Isnt it bit hot on idle? I oced my AMD X2 3.2ghz l3 cache to 3.8ghz and its running at 55c full load :X

  • @CyphenPhsyX Intel runs hotter and has a higher temperature threshold than AMD

  • What fans are you using and at what speed? :)

  • What fan controller is that?

  • @TheGeniusism

Hello if you look through my channel I have done a review on the NXZT Controller.

  • Do you have to refill it every now and then?

    - Chris

  • @HaxJaxs

hI chris, in a word basically ...no!

    Cheers

    mrix

  • You should try the COOLER MASTER R4-C2R-20AC-GP 120mm Case Fan

69 CFM at 19 db. I use to of them on my H70. I don't have a H50 to compare it to but it is a lot better then the 212 Plus air cooler that MaximumPC gave a 10 to.

  • look a cat!!!!

  • Thumbs up from me thanks for telling it how it is and not being a fanboy! :-D

  • i was thinking about putting this on my 460 hawlk what do u think.

  • jsut ordered mine today! cant wait to get it

  • If your idling at 50c something is not installed right..My H70 beat the pants off my old H50..

  • thanks was wondering ..i got the h50 then a week latter h70,i was kicking my self but it keeps my x6 1055t at 30c and load it might hit 41c

  • Thumbs up for the kitty!

  • Hey man i was wondering what the temperature of your cpu is at load on 4ghz? i currently dont have water cooling but im considering it on my i7 950, ive got it at 3.33ghz but when i get it to 3.7ghz and put it on 100% load it get up to a toasty 67 c

your reply would be very appreciated :)

  • @killacreator

Hello there, my test for load is games as that what puts the most load on my cpu in real day to day use and that`s what only concerns me. When playing BFBC2 or Call of Duty black Ops my cpu temp also is around the 65c to 70c which is perfectly ok... cheers mrix

  • @killacreator

the recomended max long term operating temp of an i7 is 74*C. You could take it higher as it is.

I am actually able to run my i7 at 89*C for a few hours at a time with no problems at all. All in all, you want to stay below 74, but i wouldnt call 67* to be "toasty"

  • @killacreator

As he stated your 67c is not a concern. The i7's run hotter than previous gen CPU's and anything under 80c frankly is not going to be an issue at 100% load. Granted if your pushing it for hours and hours on end at 100% load it is going to shorten your CPU life, but 80/85 is not critical range. Over 85 and at 90c your likely going to get some shut down issues from the system. I have the bios alarm on mine set at 80c so you won't burn something up over extended periods of use.

  • @bossxii i heard the i7s can run at 99c comfortably..

  • the paste on it is pretty much the best paste you can get

  • great case

  • teach us how to overclock please :D

  • Das ist nicht der H70 das ist der H50!!!!!!!

  • hey im wondeirng how did u get ur gtx 480 temp so low? i woudlnt see how u had ur gpu set up in ur comp and great review

  • @darktim

My GTX 480 is idle at 41 Celcius. I have the Superclocked one from EVGA and with a backplate. The backplate is what lowers the temps for me plus 8 fans on the case including one on the side pointing directly on the exterior heat sink and pipes.

  • @zx169 yeah xD i stoped using duel screen and noticed mine now runs about the same temp. so silly of me to forget duel screening brings up the temp of the gpu

  • my H70 fans are quite quiet... idk what you call loud but mine are definitely not to loud to me :P

  • @nakedmongoose123

Are you running them at full speed which is 2000rpm, I find them very noisy at that speed.

  • @mrix2000 yeah im running full speed..i run all my fans at 100%. i guess noise doesnt bother me. i mostly have headphones on, but my GPU fan is definately more noticeable over my H70 to be honest.. which i also run at 100%

  • @mrix2000 I remember my dad talking to me about H70 being really loud so he stayed with the H50

  • @TomEatsBob You can allways change the 120mm fans :)

  • @nakedmongoose123 Included H70 fans are VERY loud tbh, but it's all personal preference i guess.

  • I know the Hydro series all in one systems are supposed to be safe but i'm honestly scared to put something like that in my system because by some rare cause, it might leak.

  • @3:14: All booklets for H50... But you bought the H70 right?

  • Great review, I'm also going to buy an h70, but can I just buy 2 3-pin fans and connect them to the h70? or do I have to connect the fans to the motherboard?

  • @jasper487

When you purchase the H70 it already comes with 2 fans but if you wish to use others that`s ok, you can use what power connectors you like, but the pump power lead would be better off attaching to the cpu fan connector.

  • @mrix2000 ok thanks, I so wanna buy this thing :D

  • Finally, a genuine review! Soooo many thanks for this one!

    Cheers mate

  • Lolz same cpu and ram ^^ *high fives*

  • how is the nzxt sentry LX does it work well??

  • I've been thinking of this, but how do you do with the water? Changing and that stuff..

  • i have a noctua NH-d14 and is good run my !7 950 very quiet and and on low temperatues

  • dude ambiant temps are the same with any Cooler its when you overclock them and Stress test them you will see a Massive Diffrence in Temps. im sorry but you did not stress the Cores to Notice a Difference in Temperature / Peace

  • i like your cat :D

  • @dave250xx

have a h50 running 14 hrs per day average for the last year and a half and no issues yet. its cooling an e6700 stock 2.66 @ 3.7

  • Comment removed

  • 3 pin fan header or 4 pin thx:) email me oscar7610

  • do you need to do any maintenance and how to clean the compressor ?

  • It your fans that are the issue the H70 requires much larger and more powerful fans to push air through the larger Rad. the h50 would see a much smaller difference if you were to add the same fan on both. Try it with some ultra kaze 3k RPM fans it'll e loud but that why u get a Rad like this

  • I would like to see you do a review comparing them with running Prime 95. I'm sure there would be a difference there.

  • thanks good reveiw, im getting one now, purrrr nice cat too :)

  • Well you dont need to be upset, you just helped alot of people make a choice, (me and my cousins). I decided to just add a 2 120mm radiator on our h50's and Bam 36c easly on idle or less (i7 940 no oc). Thank you for your vid and your help.

  • but just so you know..the h70 is more or less a h50, just more compact (persay)

  • hay man i am thinking about getting it but should i get the h50 or h70 and you never had any leaks because i leave my pc on all day and all night and i did not have a good time with custom water cooling so what do you think?

  • @dave2500xx

Get the H70 if you have never owned a H50. No worries about leaking, its not going to happen!

    Best of luck

    mrix

  • thats the 600t?! i want that!

  • @McIvor67

No the Case is from the Coolermaster brand called HAF X

  • @mrix2000 haha oops, missed the beginning. saw the grommets and screwless bays @7:13 and assumed 600t. how do u like the HAF X? is it actually high air flow?

  • @McIvor67

Yes it been great!, I like the huge 230mm and 200mm fans that provide good airflow and operate at around 800rpm, as they operate at that speed they are fairly quiet.

There is also the shroud that slightly covers the graphics card that has an option to add a 120mm fan to help cool the card which I like.

Generally though its a quality case and I have not found any problems with it to date.

  • Nice review. Thx.

  • why do you corsair's value ram with an nice i7 and a gtx 480.....

  • It's quite silly to try to measure at idle. You should run one of the CPU stresstests and measure the resulsts there.

At idling, water cooling isn't really optimal at all. As far as I've understood, fans are able to reach temperatures lower than the rest of the case/room, while watercooling will rarely drop lower than the surrounding area.

I'm sure that if you'd measure the difference at heavy load, you'd see the H70 beating the H5o by miles.

  • Cheers for the thorough review.

  • there's a cat on the bed in case you have not noticed yet ;)

  • Gooooo the cat. :D Do you think the H70 would mount in the roof of a corsair 800D with the push pull fans exhausting air out of the case? Do you have your fans pulling air in? I want to upgrade for over clocking but I also want my case to look good at the same time.

  • @BenHanna7

Have no idea about if the H70 would fit your 800D case.....as for the fans, they are pushing air from outside in.

    Cheers

    mrix

  • At idle they're the same.. with X6 or i7 under load the H70 is best by a fair amount.

  • nice video!

would you buy the h70 or the h50 if you build a new system? I mean the H50 is cheaper and has a smaller radiator...

  • @creave

I would still buy the H70 if I did not own the H50 prior.

  • @mrix2000

    Thank you
