i Had minor neck injuries after i did a head down tackle this is the best advice now i tackle well because i know what the concequenses were from tht tackle.
is there anyway that i can break my habit of keeping my head down when i tackle because i got minor whiplash because of it and i dont want to do any severe damage to myself.
practice, practice, practice, as it says in the video its just natural to put your head down so the only way to get around it is to drill it out. the earlier you get out of the habbit the easier it will be. make keeping your head up the focus of your tackles until its second nature.
yeah lols our cocahes tell us to put our heads up but its like instinct when making the big play to put the head down and "spear" or run over the other guy which feels good lol
Enjoy eating your meals through a straw you dumbass. Put your shoulder in on a big hit. Does just as much damage and you dont get a concussion. Seriously. Anyone who promotes spearing a guy is f*cked up in the head.
The defender should put their head up always when making contact, you should always be able to see what you're tackling, the reason so many don't is because it's natural instinct to protect the face and eyes by looking away (down). It's done by what's called bulling the neck, basically tensing the muscles in the back of the neck so you're head moves up.
fark, does anyone know how amny league players have died? fuck man thats scary as, thats why i love aussie football, you alway tackle front on, and theres no helmets so u cant make contact like that

still dont understand why its called football? surely it should be called throwball or runlikefuckball.english football is the only true sport!!!!!!!!!!
It's called football because it came about as variation of rugby football (or rugby), which came from the football you're refering to. Admittedly there are few similarities nowadays but while the rules have changed the name has endured.
You can't hit what you can't see, head up!

i dont get it, our coaches tell us to put our head down and blow through the defender when we have the ball, but obviously thats not a good idea
