@ZEROPRODUCTIONSVIDEO Maybe this is a sequel to Fatal Frame 3 where after the events of that game Mio finds her way back into the Lost Village to find and rescue Mayu from the fate of the Crimson Sacrifice Ritual. It makes sence if you assume that the Lingering Scent ending from Fatal Frame 2 is the canon one since it doesn't contridict the events of Fatal Frame 3.

@2012franko Japan doesn't make shit off of the Fatal Frame series in America. No one buys them and they've always been incredibly hard to come across. That's like saying if DoubleFine remade Psychonauts, they'd make millions. It's too obscure for the average gamer and they never advertise.

As much as I'd love a ps3 port, it's so much easier to hack a wii than a PS3 to play it because I doubt it will be released in America. I'll definitely buy it anyways.
