@mistertitanic Like i Was Hearing That Whole Music like Ecco 2: The Tide Of Time... They were keep Putting on those 1987's Music on that Sea Game by the Year 1994!!!
I remember waking up for work around eleven, and realizing this song was stuck in my head. I decided then I NEEDED it. I was humming it all day. If I get a band going, this is the first thing we're covering!
Friggin' HATED this stage. At first, it was because of the giant jellyfish. But then I got so frantic when it would show up that I forgot that the stage was very unforgiving if you didn't have control. Still, the music for this stage was awesome.
Arrgh I remember that evil jellyfish chasing you on this level and having to swim really fast to escape. I also remember the funny bubbling noises it made when it caught you!
I remembered the first time that I played this level and saw Medusa herself. I thought to myself, "Hm, this is going to be a major pain," and with my heart pounding every time I thought I was safe in one of the upper tubes, she would come after me and I started dying dozens of times in a row! I eventually did defeat her, or actually fled from her, and the sigh of relief I emitted could have probably been heard from the next state over!
I love this track. The calm, ominous start, then broken by the intensity and insanity from something you absolutely cannot fight back. You're going to die. A LOT. I doubt I'll find another video game track that can match that feeling. This needs proper remixing for modern time's sake :3 .
I agree completely. Too bad most remix attempts out there were poorly done in one way or another. Though, I heard one that came very close. It was alot more haunting due to reverb. Sadly, I can't find that one anymore and it did have an excess of reverb. Some parts sound amazing with the reverb, but too much made some parts shallow.
I guess that would make the original one of those tracks that's just spot on. Though, I do want to attempt a rock arrangement for it.
"So it's just more jellyfish, right? Man, I'm always running into those. Cool music, though--OH DEAR LORD, I'VE ANGERED THEIR QUEEN! SWIM, ECCO! SWIM BEFORE IT TAKES ITS REVENGE!"
His name is Ed Ettore Annunziata, the "brain" of the series on Megadrive. He wished (and he wishes always) to make a third episode, because the story was not finished (remember the strange ending in Tides of Time). The useless final password in Tides of Time had to be used for a third Ecco game on Megadrive. This third game was planned and then canceled.
@Bastidd24 I really wish they went further with Ecco- made more games, a more complete story line, etc. It really was an incredible, otherwordly game.
Yeah! I found that interesting when I looked that up. :) At first I thought Novotrade was a French developer, but then I took a second look at the names of the composers and realized I couldn't place the nationality. They were unfamiliar sounding names so I was curious...
Ah, not remastered exactly, but I ripped this track myself. It is a sample of the vgm format rip from project2612 (dot org), converted to a 224kbps mp3 before making this video. If it sounds different, it's possible that the older versions are lower quality mp3 or come from a lower quality source?
Man, I hummed this song and drove everyone nuts for days at a time when I was a child.

I think this would best be remixed as a sporadic drum and bass track.

My friend took the track and put an instrument to every part of it, most of which he recorded himself eg: drums, guitar. Give it a listen!

The story to the Ecco games was writen by an hungarian Phantasy writer. And the Level Design was his idea, he is a genius.
