Respond to this video... Did the apostles worship Peter? No ! but they looked to him for guidance! As Jesus said to him "you are rock, and on this rock I will build my church! I give you the keys to the kingdom, and what you bind on earth will be bound in heaven!"! so you see as catholics we are glad to have the Pope to tend to his flock! Respond to this video... As for priests forgiving sins, it is not the priest but God that forgives sins, the priest is simply a humble instrument! John 20:19–23 Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." How more clear can it be?

@damienbrennan1 - When you understand scripture, you understand meaning. "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven." This does not mean or give power to a priest or pope or anyone to forgive all sins of any man; it means, that when someone sins against you, you have the power of Christ in you to forgive them their sins against you, and you only, not for their sins of the world. You see this when Jesus responds to His disciples when asked how to pray. Again, a Catholics self-serving view

. As for Catholics worshiping Mary! Mary was the new ark of the covenant, as she carried God in her womb! for this she is worthy of honor, is she not? Catholics venerate, or honor, Mary in prayer and song. Some people mistake prayer and veneration for worship, but to Catholics, they aren‘t the same thing. Prayer is simply entering into communication with a holy spirit. Veneration is giving special honor to a saint. Worship is for God alone!

@damienbrennan1 - Catholicism sees Mary as the bridge to God, and not Jesus. Prayers to God are heard and answered only in Jesus' name, not Mary or a Pope or Muhammad or whatever of man, but Jesus and Jesus alone. "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through (by) Me." Mary is worthy of course of being honored and respected, but not worshiped. She plays no role whatsoever in reaching God, talking to God or reaching heaven or salvation; beads are idolatry

When the current Pope takes credit for John 14:6, under his portrait in the Vatican, in Rome, there is a serious problem. When the same pope promotes condoms in schools, rather than abstinence, there is a serious problem. The Pope has never claimed to be Jesus' substitute, he asks us to bring Jesus into our lives. The Pope has never claimed to be anything other than a sinner and a man like all of us, but he has a responsability to guide the church.
