No, my friend, they do not "always" have the game. The games don't ship until a specific date. Pre-ordering before that date actually helps the developers. Gamestop doesn't really benefit because if you were going to buy it from them eventually then they're getting the same amount of money from you either way.

A brand new game + tax is 65 bucks, now its 70 because of stupid pre ordering. If they dont have it at 1 gamestop you can bet your ass they have it at another, unless you live far out of town where theres only 1 gamestop near you. First of all, I'm not defending Gamestop in the least. I haven't said a single thing in any of these comments to "defend" Gamestop. My argument is that pre-ordering does help the developers and that it's therefore not pointless. And no, pre-ordering does not cost you an additional $5 or anything. You just pre-pay a minimum which is deducted from the cost later. In other words, you pay the balance when you pick up the game. Same price either way.
