  • Wow I forgot how great their harmonies were in this version! I love the Breaktown version but I think this one is better!

  • omg this discussion is annoying me. its breaktown. never mind what it used to be called. the demo was released on an official hanson cd and it was called breaktown. im gonna assume hanson know the name of their own song. this version ROCKS! i liked the demo, then when i heard this version its become my favourite song!

  • There is no discussion really, they are months old. Everything that needed to be said has been said and the only reason I have not changed the title is due to the fact I know someone will still search for "Breakdown" as the song title- then when they stumble on this they can be very much informed on the real name.

  • yeah i know that YOU know the correct name lol. its other people im talking about. thanks for posting all this by the way, i love all the unreleased songs u post.

  • Well, thank you. You're very welcome.

  • I swear on the original demo it sounded even more like "Breakdown" than this did! I never agreed with them calling it "Breaktown" (not that my opinion matters) because the imagery with it being breakdown is just so perfect. Breaktown...just makes no sense. *sigh* Thank goodness for Taylor's consistent inability to enunciate his words, I can still listen to it and hear "breakdown" even on the cleaner, studio versions! ;)

  • Yeah.

    I also like Break(D)own more than Break(T)own.

Even so, it's a great song. Down, Town or Down Town. I love it.

  • it is breakTown.

they've said it themselves "Welcome to breaktown"

watch the taking the walk doc when they work on it with kortchmar...or SETB when they do this version here with john shanks.

  • I guess I shouldn't have been so late with this, I never noticed this comment.

At first he does say "Insignificant breakdown" was the song's original name...

When I made this I hadn't listened to the song, I listened to the front end and the back end to make sure it was full before I posted.

Sadly doing the work I did I didn't get to fully enjoy the songs. I got this site up within 2 days- found all the songs -and- made them into videos.

During the song it is indeed BreakTown, though.

  • they are deff. saying Breakdown. I always thought it was breaktown..but never heard such a clear version until now. thanks!

  • i love that song.. its a great song!

  • For some reason I like this version best. I think because the buildups in the song with the vocals and especially the instruments, are stronger and have more impact. Regardless of the name, it's a great song.

  • haha was it really necessary for like, every single person to correct you? doesn't matter what it's called (i mean kinda...), all that matters is that it's a fantastic song!!

    thanks for posting all these.

  • Apparently so. I will be corrected again eventually.

People don't read previous comments before posting their own, that is what sucks.

    Also, you're very welcome.

  • they really should read other comments... it saves a lot of time and aggravation because 75% of the time, you'll find the answer to your question or, in this case, see that somebody already corrected the poster. XD

  • breaktown!!!!!! not breakdown

  • Insignificant breakdown was the original song name he had said, I heard that and put it as the title.

I don't know how it could go from "insignificant breakdown" to breaktown, but for the second version I found later on, I typed it as breaktown.

  • There are THREE versions of the song. This is actually the SECOND version, the other version that you said is the "Second" is actually the second and is the Demo. The Third version is actually "The Walk" version in which you can find on "Taking the Walk" which is the electric version and have only played it once live.

  • Ah, awesome. Thanks for telling me. I'll have to check that out.

  • My Pleasure.

  • were can i get both versions of this song i love it thank you!

  • oops, sorry. anyway, if you're a hnet member, go back through the futys. taylor posted a text mentioning a fan site that was "breakdown" and that the song was actually "breaktown". sorry for the double post!

  • That's weird, I mean that it was insignificant breakdown, then they named it breaktown. I mean, it sounds cool either way, I just swore it sounded like breakdown. LOL. Thanks for the 411.

  • it's breaktown. if

  • Taylor said the original song name was "Isignificant Breakdown" why would they make it "breaktown" is what I really don't get... lol.

I don't know... You can't understand if he says breakdown or breakTOWN in the song... so it's hard to know if Breaktown is truly the name, or if fans couldn't understand what he said and just named it that.

  • thay allso say theres a road sign welcome to break town

  • It's breakTOWN.

Taylor explained it when I met him and he also explains it on "Taking the Walk" documentary.

  • I believe this is still BreakTown...there are 2 versions of Breaktown...this being one...but they named the song (both) Breaktown.
