here's an example of how flying can suck. I was on a flight from vancouver ot calgary which was a 1 hour flight time and we were sat waiting for a delayed passenger for an hour and the pilot said we were waiting for an arriving passenger which sounded nice. I actually thought it was quite nice of them to wait for a late passenger and it almost soudned to good to be true

do flights traveling from toronto to vancouver stay in canadian airspace or do they fly through usa airspace? looking on the map if they fly a direct routing they would have to go through the usa

they usually fly entirely through Canadian airspace. From Toronto, they usually fly Northwest over Georgian Bay, than towards Thunder Bay and than almost a straight line over the praries to Vancouver.

@Lunarlaserranging You are neglecting the fact that, unlike a map, the world is spheric. If you look on a map, flights from Europe to the US would not have to pass the arctic, yet they do because the world is not flat and the shortest route is through the arctic.
