I dug out, framed and poured the catch basin myself w concrete. The metal grate came free from my dad's steel fabrication business. Got lucky w that. They can get really expensive and I needed something custom. Are you building something similar?
Our house was at a pretty low location. I followed the gushing water one time to find that it was collecting from about 10 different sources, so there was no way I was gonna prevent it. I just had to deal with it and rectify the situation as best I could. And I did! And yes, It was a mess before I did that. It used to fill up our entire yard like a pond and overflow into the neighbor's yard. It never did after I installed this system.
