i Wish someone will make a movie named "Queen Mary" Because the Directors of other films changed the Queen Mary's Name to Titanic (SOS Titanic 1979) SS POseidon (The Poseidon Adventure 1972) and i wish the film is ONLY ABOUT THE QUEEN MARY'S LIFEEEEEE!!!!!
@MultiRaZoR47 It's not a very amazing life because even though it was in WWII, it never saw any action....though it did accidently ram a friendly destroyer and several crew members have died from accidents(ex: rammed a friendly destroyer) or complete stupidity(ex: someone died from playing a game of chicken with watertight door #13.)
No they were not put adrift, the sub requested assistance from the Queen Mary and the QM stopped, typical procedure you stop your ship to provide assistance. The fact the sub claims to be UK Royal Navy, makes easier for the QM to stop.
Heavens to Murgatroid! I've seen that veteran British character actor in many other movies. This flick is quite a hoot...an outlandish plot to be sure (some nogoodniks raise a WWII submarine & use it to rob the Queen Mary while it's out at sea) ...but it has a talented cast & is well made. Fuck that. I said this movie is not very good. No Captain in his right mind would stop a ship with 3000 people onboard. The Poseidon Adventure was her 1st offical movie
@Dirtboy101 I'm actually trying to find this movie. I think it's called "Assault on a Queen" Thing is ..German U-Boats couldn't catch her. She was too fast.
@skot66 The sub didnt catch her..the three men were put adrift in a raft in the shipping lanes so the Queem Mary would stop and "Rescue" them. Which they did.
Once aboard the three "rescued" men informed them that a submarine was there.
@meetman3 I'm aware ..I saw the movie ..I was talking about in World War 2. Hitler put a bounty on The Queen and the Knights Cross to any Uboat that could sink her. I guess I wasn't clear. sorry.
DCnightcrawler are you sure that those scenes were done before the Queen Mary arrived at Long Beach?. Looking at the scenes of the Queen Mary we only see her starboard side. The coast guard cutter arrives at her stern. If you watch the video of the Mary arriving at Long Beach there are two coast guard cutters in the film. One that looks like the one that was used in the movie.
