  • He should be arrested as soon as his reign is over.

  • Dodd is a fake like most of the Pols on either side of the aisle...

  • Glad you're not running Senator, even more glad that Richard Blumenthal is replacing you.

  • one less democrat

  • so long Dodd..you are a liar,a thief and a tax cheat. you will not be missed.

  • The Democrats will not have a problem in 2010, although the Rabid Right is Salivating, Giddie, and Propagating a Landslide 1994 Reoccurance in November, NOT. The Republican Party is still the Party of OIL, the Party of NO, and the Party of ME. These are George Bush Republicans who allowed gas prices to climb 400% from 2002-2008, Bush Republicans Halted Congress in 2005 to address Terri Schiavo's Feeding Tube while US Soldiers were getting Killed in IRAQ, The GOP will never hold majority again!

  • how much are you paid to post your crap?

genetic refuse patrol should remove your feeding tube-

chris "truth squad" dodd is a lair and a thief, and all of your moronic bush blathering is falling on deaf ears. what is it like in hell?

  • It doesn't matter if he runs or not. He will not be re-elected. Throw out all the bums.

  • This is actually good for Democrats. People are tired of the same faces and hopefully a new face in the Democratic party in CT will replace him. He was polling bad agaisnt GOPers, he's been in office for too long, time to give someone else the opportunity, as long as is not a republican.

  • Before the Democratic party's embrace of civil rights, the "Solid South" had been one of the most reliable features of American politics. For generations, the region had delivered huge majorities for Democratic presidential nominees. The Republicans, whose party originated in the antislavery movement were still widely hated as the party of the triumphant North, which had defeated and humiliated the South in the Civil War.

  • And what's your point? I think most people are aware of the fact that the Democratic party was the home of southern racists prior to the Civil Rights Act, and the Republican southern strategy. The voting pattern and right wing populist tactics are now perfectly reversed.

If you're looking for the lesser of two evils when it comes to racism, it's better to support the party that USED to be the home of racists and xenophobes than the one that currently IS.

  • The GOP that you talk about does not exist anymore, it is long gone, and the southern democrats and dixicrats that you talk about are part today's GOP. The GOP that you're trying to defend has nothing to do with that progressive party from Abraham Lincoln to Theodore Roosevelt, the GOP you got today is Hoover/Nixon/Bush/Gingrich's GOP. Tell you what... keep supporting your GOP, if you want to believe is the same party they were 100 years ago that's up to you... enjoy your evening, dude !

  • @oldtownkid both parties are corrupt & take advantage of it members. What happened to voting 4 the person & not along party lines. Big business runs both parties plus a whole lot more. U are right the GOP is not the same as Lincoln but the Dems are not the party of Jefferson. Who cares? I do. That's why I don't vote according 2 parties but I vote according 2 the content of character of the candidate... enjoy your evening, dude !

  • DaFinisherBX, well put and the Political Shift Took Place in the 1960s-1999s where the Patriotic Abraham Lincoln Republicans are your Present Day Barack Obama Democrats and your Treasonous Jim Crow Democrats are your Modern Day Trent Lott-George Bush Republicans..

  • "The money power preys upon the nation in times of peace and conspires against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy. It denounces, as public enemies, all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes."

    -Abraham Lincoln, 1864

    founder of the republican party

  • You live in a fantasy world

  • njcarlos1: If Ned Lamont runs again he'd probably beat Pete Schiff, but the race would be close. Pete Schiff would have a better chance winning running as an Independent not as a Embarrassing George Bush Southern Republican..

  • @bloggerfl5486 I see you removed your comment. Congrats 2 you. Bush was not my Pres. anymore than Pres. Obama is. Both parties suck & don't care 4 US anyway...

  • @DaFinisherBX: Get out of America then if you don't like it! Bush is an abomination, the Absolute Worst Embarrassing President in US History and I wish Bush would get out of America too..

  • @bloggerfl5486 your Present Day Barack Obama Democrats are not Patriotic because aren't they the 1's that tried 2 throw the Military out of San Fran, didn't they call Bush "Hitler" & a liar, he don't care about minorites & many other talking points from 2004 - Present. If Pres. Obama inherited the economy then Bush inherited the terrorists from Clinton along with the false info from the intelligents community. Bush was not the best Pres. but he kept US safe.

  • Comment removed

  • George Corley Wallace, Jr. was a Governor of Alabama for four terms; 19631967, 19711979 and 19831987. Wallace was elected governor in a landslide victory in November 1962. Wallace attempted to stop four black students from enrolling in four separate elementary schools in Huntsville in September 1963. After intervention by a federal court in Birmingham, the four children were allowed to enter on September 9, becoming the first to integrate a primary or secondary school in Alabama.

  • Great Comment... DafinisherBX

  • thx

  • Dodd is just another corrupt corporatist democrat. He won't be missed.

  • 8 times reelected WTF...I think he didn't want to face Peter Schiff in a debate...This guy is the reason we need term limits..He really believes his narcissistic self....Want a jackass !

  • Vote Nader!

  • RALPH NADER!

  • What a shock? 1 of the people responsible 4 this man-made Crisis that has plunged this country into a financial disaster, has no support 4 re-election in his state. What a shock?

  • @DaFinisherBX

Not quite, but your close. It was the congress and senate that caused this not 1-4 men. Republican, Captalist, policy's caused this crash.

  • From 1850s - 1968, blacks and whites were segregated across the South--kept apart in schools, hotels, restaurants, and other public places. Some of the staunchest defenders of segregation in the South were Democrats, many of them members of Congress.

  • I believe its time 2 vote every incumbent out of office, no matter the party, 4 the next ten years. I bet things would really change!!!

  • I agree, I want Independents on the Tickets, or no paper trail touch screens....Voting for the other guy; just because, just for spite, or just to keep them in and out every election cycle, is a great idea.

  • So you believe the fox/conservative talking point that the same GOP-controlled congress and the same GOP-controlled White House that got us in Iraq and gave wartime tax breaks to big corps couldn't stop a few "evil" liberals from lending to "minorities", thus causing the financial crisis? You beleive that? Really?

  • I'm an independent so I been saying vote every incumbent out of office since (R)Bush, (D)Clinton, (R)Bush & ur savior progressive (D)Pres. Obama started defying the constitution. We have needed to vote out incumbents since ur first progressive was born. And by the way Clinton is the 1 that got rid of regulations in 1999 that was implemented after the real depression & (R)Bush is the 1 that didnt pay attention to AAA ratings given to sub-prime mortgages pushed by (D)Dodd & (D)Frank.

  • Everybody who ever voted for Bush is apparently now either an Independent or a Libertarian.

So it's amusing when a self-proclaimed "Independent" mentions all the Democratic culprits in the financial crisis, but none of the Republicans. ie-mentioning that Gramm-Leach and CFMA were signed by Clinton while neglecting to mention they were written by Gramm. Or the fact that Dodd and Frank spoke against regulating housing GSEs, but it was Republicans who had the power to regulate but didn't.

  • It's funny that progressives are so worried about the rest of the world & thats all & good if they would of done what they said they were going to do for the inner-city 50 years ago. They have been in power of most urban developments & it's basically the same. If you think slavery stopped, just look at who's in prison & for what.

  • I haven't read your comments but I bet the crisis is only the Democrat's fault. If you think this maybe you should suck GOP cock and then kill yourself.

  • its about time

  • Good riddance you corrupt f*k!

May many more demoCants follow your lead.

  • Peter Schiff!!!!

  • @ferrozm

    sell out to the GOP

  • I'm dissapointed too that we wont see a debate with the brilliant economist and senate candidate Peter Schiff. :( If you don't know who Peter Schiff is yet just youtube his name. He's a legend and is the strongest candidate in this race! Peter Schiff 2010!!

  • Why won't you? Schiff could still get the Republican nomination (although I doubt it). He just won't get to debate Dodd. And looking good in a debate against Dodd wouldn't be any great achievement at this point, with all the political baggage Dodd is carrying. At this point a can of sardines could beat Dodd. That's the only reason he's resigning.

  • Schiff is a beast at debating. I don't think he'll have a problem with anyone in the race... from either side of the aisle.

  • If I was US citizen I would vote for Schiff

  • thane17...We can only hope people like Peter Schiff and Rand Paul can rebuild a new party from one of the corrupt other parties..When I say rebuild I mean change minds to common sense views on economics ...Produce more, Save more and invest more....Not print more as Obama and Bush believes...Great comment !

  • i agree robhagle , dodd is corrupt and he is trying to get out of dodge

  • His debate with Peter schiff would have been interesting :(

  • My predictions: He is avoiding corruption charges.

And his reason for leaving is to go work for Goldman-Sachs. Good Riddance.

  • ABANDON SHIP!!!

  • Heheh!

Actually, the number of Republican incumbents who are retiring this year is greater than the number of retiring Democrats.

    washingtonmonthly. com/archives/individual/2010_01/021783.php

But of course, pointing that out wouldn't make for as much drama as the narrative that the Democratic party is sinking, and all the rats are abandoning ship that the so-called liberal media is trying to push. All in an effort to sell advertising slots.

  • The rats are leaving the sinking ship.

  • Two words: Senator Nader.

Why should fucking idiot Teabaggers have all the indie fun?
