  • wow wow wow wow , ive been listening to doo wop gospel soul for years that just blew my socks off !!!!!!!! thanks for sharingxx

  • They squalling on this one!

  • Actually there was alot of gospel like this. They sound a lot like the Davis Sisters of Philadelphia. But still a nice sound.

  • As an agnostic wayward member of the tribe of Judah, this one crushes me. Exploding vibrating female lead, with much edge to spare, coupled with crisp vocal harmony injections, flavored heavily with the do-wop r&b attack. much cross polination between the genres made for some outstanding sound. Best believe I'll be sharing this find with others. The legacy is is so rich with with obscure gems, it's one more source of beauty in an all too often ugly world. Sincere gratitude for this post.

  • Great song. It has that Davis Sisters of Philadelphia. Only lighter. Still moves ya soul.

  • This is what I call "gut music". You just couldn't half-step singin' this joint. Mama was throwing down BIG-TIME. I adore singers like this.

  • We just don't do music like this anymore! Any info on the backup singers? They made me take my shoe off at the end. :)

Hope you don't mind, this has been added to my favorites.

  • Of course I don't mind that you added this to your favorites. I'm not sure about the group members off the top of my head, but I can look into it

  • What the world needs now is...

    Gospel plus Doo wop

    Amen?

  • It's not as strange as it sounds. Doo Wop has deep gospel roots. Thanks for the comment :)

  • I understand that -- doo wop is what happened when Gospel left the church and met Rock n Roll at the dance and were introduce to each other by Pop

Or "Maybe" they met at the church social?

  • Those are both very possible scenarios :)

  • EXCELLANT!

  • i think i have to hear this one like ten times in a row

  • I've done that a few times lol

  • Sounds awesome! What year was that recorded?

  • 1962.. Early Berry Gordy production

  • Never heard this one before, but man, what a treat this is!! Great stuff!

  • It's a wonderful sound that's been in hiding for years.

  • What are you sorry for... In my opinion this is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Glad I was able to bring it out from obscurity.

  • 10 stars this deserves. All there is to say

  • Thank you so much. Since the very first time I heard this song I was hooked.

  • Wow! All I can say. Kim Weston beautiful voice, if there is such a thing as candy for the ears, she is it. Beautiful

  • I agree with everything you said. Not sure if Kim is singing lead but she was definitely in the group.
