  • @JustDaB3st Hey you're right, that's how he managed to not only do it in just over 10 minutes, but also explain to me how to do it

  • you can talk for money but your tutorial is just bunch of bla-bla

  • awesome backgrounds !!!

  • This was very helpful, Thanks

  • hey. how do you set a video as front

  • Hey, thanks a lot for this tutorial, it was so simple, really. Here's a tip for the unneeded audio: instead of turning down the volumes, you can insert a new audio track, drag the audio there and then delete the track; it's gonna save some space :D

  • Okay.

If I did a PiP and wanted to include it (video&picture) all inside a border how would that work? Also, to make the picture a little translucent how do I do that?

Thank you, you've helped me sooooo much!

  • @JongKeydom Did you notice that when you hold the cursor on top of the track, it says "Opacity is 100%"? All you have to do is drag that line down a little. As for the border of the small picture, I guess you can just improvise, because using an actual border will only work for the whole screen. So, you can add a solid color, for example, from media generators and then apply the same settings you did to make the PiP effect, so it will be placed in the same position as the small picture. GoodLuck

  • Good tutorial overall, but jesusfuckingchrist dude if you say "ummmm" or "uhhhhh" one more time, I'm going to come to your house and bitch-slap you!

  • ok so not sure if you have a video for what im looking for but im trying to make a halo dual video and i want one player on either the top or to the side and the other on the opposite side.

  • hey i cant put the second vid on the top of the first one. i selected the "size about center and lock aspect ratio" and i still cant put it over it looks like it is hidden behind the 1st one. Do you know if there is anything that makes my 1clip priority and not lets anything go on top of it? please respond

    Thanks

  • I have Sony Vegas 9 and I can't get a third video and audio track, can you help?

  • Do you have Sony Vegas Pro? If you don't then you're limited to just that. If you DO have the Pro version, right click and choose New Video/Audio Track.

  • Thanks for the helpful tutorial!

  • O.o nice.....

  • Here is my problem, I have snap off, and I do everything, but I can only move the picture side to side, not up and down. Can anyone help?

  • On the left of that window, you should see an arrow going left and right. that controls x axis, y axis, and any movement, being the arrows in all directions

  • ok, how do u edit it so that only a certain part of the video shows up on top of the main video instead of the whole video, like on guitar hero, if i want me playing in the backround and just the highway to show up instead of the whole video with the backround

  • You use a combination of Event TrackFX//Sony Cookie Cutter to cut away the part you don't want. And Pan/Crop to place the visible portion at the top of the frame. I hope that helps.

  • masking would work

  • its so easy but u made this sound like the hardest thing to day probably cus theres 3 of the clips i do it with 1

  • excellent i needed to do this for a picture but the same principles still apply! great help! cheers dude

  • thank u i did it

    i like your tutorials

    XOXO

  • great song choice man, keep up the videos i love your stuff!

  • lol...PIP technology...

  • FINALLY I FOUnD U!!! (the tut for picture in picture :))

  • to make it easier see techtopia's tutorial... btw nice vid

  • awesome, I have one quesion though, is it possible to make the small video clips in the corner zoomed in any?

  • Rather than turning the audio down, you could detach it from the video and delete it. That would save render time, as well as work space and RAM.

  • to get ride of audio click on the clip with teh audio you want to be remoed then press U and it seperates em so u can moe it delete it wateer

  • you should look intoo cool edit pro for recording i hadaudacity and cool edit is way better

  • like the guitar pro icon great program u play

  • when you're at the even pan crop thing, how do you make the white interface smaller and get more room to work with?

  • i love ur bg LOL

  • your vegas tutorials are awesome..thank you so much so much so much

  • How do you get sony vegas 8.0? Do you download it or do you have to buy it?

  • u can buy it online

  • Say you put a video in a video, and the video has a backround. Is there a way to get rid of the backround so its completely see-through? Like, if you put words (bad example, pretend it was from a game or something) as the second video, would there be a way to make it clear, like if it were in a speech bubble or something, to make the speech bubble clear without masking?

  • Great video!

I have only one question...can the PiP be only in a square shape?

  • I think you can use cookie cutter and then pan/crop and that way you can choose other shapes.

  • "What the Jesus?!"

I think I´m in love with you. And for pete´s sake I´m a girl.

  • thanks

  • Cool tutorial! Does anyone know how to render videos in widescreen and HQ but NOT HD?

  • I do, check out my page for some examples.

Basically all I can say is that if you want a video to be at least widescreen, your resolution must be at least 640x360. And for the higher-resolution (and quality), I find that 704x400, 852x480, or 864x486, work well.

  • dont render the quality as best. just good.

  • Hey Marty come here!

  • do you know how to do three way.

    Like the pictures in columns.

    xx

  • Where can I get the background????

  • this could have been so much shorter (:

  • jimi hendrix :)

  • u cant

  • how can u render a video in HD without it taking hours and hours an hourssss. Plz makea video

  • it dosen't...there is no other way but if u make longer videos it takes longer time to do

  • you can. try to render a one minute video in HD.

it should be done within 6 mins.. for real. but the longer the video, the longer the time for rendering..

  • Thanks Man! Didnt realise it was so easy haha:P

  • You took WAY too long to explain how to PIP. You did make your point, but you took just too long how to show it.

  • i dont get pic in pic

  • PIP is what some TV's have that allow you to watch your current channel, while viewing another channel in a smaller 'window' on the same screen. This effect is just being applied to a video project in this tutorial.

  • can u edit vids in photoshop right?

  • No. Photoshop is used to edit still images. You can take a snapshot of a frame in a video editing software like Sony Vegas 8, edit it, and put it back into your video project for some special effects.

  • mmm i thought u could...can u help me do crazy effects?

  • wat are your rendering settings? cuz the quality on youtube is liek amazing

  • I don't know his partciular settings...but I have a tutorial showing how to do my HD settings. My tutorial is caled "HD Widescreen Settings For YouTube" it shows how to get amazingly good quality videos. You should also check out my other tutorials as well. I have tons of Vegas tutorials as well ;)

  • i can't stop listening to that opening..i love it for some reason.. JIMI HENDRIX RULES!

  • I have a QUESTION:

How can I make borders to my other video windows, like you have in that video?

  • I think that video clip has borders anyway

  • you should make a tut showing your camtasia settings

  • You can't tinker with Camtasia while filming with it, quite paradoxal, paradoxical, or ...

  • You ever tried pressing alt+f4 when filming with camtasia? Nearly destroyed my computer

  • i see you have after effects you shod make tuts

  • How can I get borders to my other video windows??

  • It's way easier than i thought!!

    Thanks great tutorial! :D

  • which one is better..sony vegas or adobe premier?

  • Adobe premier goes with adobe after effects.

if you dont intend on getting after effects than go for vegas.

  • k..thanks..ima try the ulead..

  • another jimi junkie. ugh people like just because they think they are supposed to. Does anyone really LIKE the beatles? theyre just okay in my book but why does everyone like them, same with jimi

  • no people llike jimi hendrix because he wa an amazing guitarist. he twisted up notes and manipulated them like no other guitarist and he was one of the first, and it sounded amazing.

  • Where do you get those backgrounds? they are awesome! I can guess that there are from the same author, the drawing style look similar.

    Good tut!

  • im gonna make 2...no 4 NO 5!!!

  • Jimi Hendrix FTW

  • sick man i love these Vegas tuts, keep it up dude

  • use a chroma keyer and use the eyedrop tool on the colour you want to be invisible

  • Thanks man

  • Hope It Works :)

  • yeah, your a crazy person LOL

    Thanks for the tips man

  • thx man thats what i wanted to know how to do it for a very long time! :O

    you rule:)

  • nice=p

  • nice :)

  • Hi Marty, Q: Would deleting the 2nd and 3rd audio tracks be a better alternative, rather than drop volume?

Seems to me it would also free up some of the processing issues. - Thx, Paul

  • yes

  • That does make more sense. You could easily use up so much of the cpu doing this stuff that your computer will actually cut your internet connection to compensate. It happened to me.

  • Yip yap zippity bop, but in case you wanted a news room sort of piece or people talking, you'd keep them.

  • thanks dude, been looking for this

  • How can i make borders to my other video windows?

  • wow !

  • Duplicating -> Pan crop -> Zoom out -> Effects.

    That's alot easier mate... :p

  • Bro there is an easier way

just make the clip 4 times then pnn / crop

  • Oh, yeah, I've done that. It really is easier than I used to think. And the best part; you don't have to download anything. ^^

    God bless, guys!

  • you are a great teacher, thank you man.

  • Haha Really Good Tut.

    Dundund
