  • HAIL SATAN!!! :)

  • Im 12 >:D and I sing this song to people to creep them out HAHAHA

    >:D TAKE THAT.... MOM!

  • Who can dislike this?! The song touches my heart & makes me feel scared!

    Only Alice can do this♥

    He's the king. Awesome.

  • LOVE ALICE!! no more i can say!

  • Alice is a complete legend!!! If ANYONE else did a song like this or dead babies... they'd have so many political correctness people slamming them away... Not Alice though, he could get away with anything haha

  • @TheScorpion667

In an iterview, Alice said he did indeed have them calling him baby killer but he responded by saying if they even bothered to listen to the lyrics of dead babies then they would have realised that it was an anti child cruelty song!!!

  • Lol a tribute to the guy that played Renfield in the 1931 Dracula and the hunchback in Frankenstein. Bad-ass

  • @CrustyClown11 the character's name was Fritz

  • Absolutely thrilling!

  • steal them toys, Alice!!! ....OK....now give them back.

  • Long Live Dwight Frye!

  • Alice can make going insane so damn cool.

  • to fucked up. cannot.. handle... *commits self to mental unit*

  • This song needs to go in the universal time capsule.

Thanks Alice for scarring and scaring me all the way from the early 70's

  • Clearly a song about being in an Insane Asylum.

  • When I was a teenager ... we all wanted to go see him ... I don't think I ever missed one of his Toronto concerts .... he is and was amazing .... this song has to be one of the best songs ever written ...... and no one but Alice could ever do it right !!!

  • does anyone really know who Dwight Frye is?

hit me up, I'll clue ya in!

  • @TheLadandLass Actor in the early Dracula movies. He played the creepy Renfield guy that eats bugs!

  • @mlong1954

As well as Igor in "Frankenstein"...

  • I got a German copy of this record, in which he is supposed to be holding his p*cker. On the USA cover they painted over it! What smucks!!!

  • Whats Creepy Bout it??

    This my BedTime Song !!

  • I was lucky enough to be the daughter of the owner of the security company used at the places he played .... I was just a kid and was kept back stage .... I was laying on a chouch supose to be going to sleep and Alice came and sat with me and told me about his kids and wife ..... he was just the nicest guy in the world ... this song is like my life .... how ironic ......

  • seeing this guy at Bloodstock =D

  • Alice is our 1970s Poe.

  • Saw this live when I went to his Theatre of Death tour. Fucking awesome.

  • @xemopengyx So did I.........he came to Bay City, Michigan and kicked ass. Seeing his show on TV or videos doesn't compare to seeing it live for yourself.

  • @uofm97 Saw his band in 72 in Houston. They hung Alice after "Dead Babies". It was one of the best concerts I ever saw, and I have seen a few!

  • @mlong1954 I can only imagine what it was like to see something like Alice in his prime. He was awesome in 2010 when he came to my hometown. They did the hanging bit and a few others. It was basically all the ways they "executed" Alice at the end of the shows in the past (that's my guess, anyway); stuck him in a box and stabbed him with huge swords, stuck him a big syringe, shot him with a gun.....and a few others.

  • @uofm97 It was great. But I will tell you that the band played one of the best shows I have ever seen. Glen Buxton and Michael Bruce were two of the best guitarist ever. Much under-rated and over shadowed by the theatrics of Alice Cooper. (the man) The production and quality was exceptional. Glad I got to see the original band!

  • @mlong1954 I envy you guys that got to see the original band. Everything was new and exciting and no one else was doing what they were doing at the time.

  • @uofm97 Definitley, nothing beats being there.

  • I think it's his best song.

  • @InfiniteCreature

it was his best, no doubt!

    you have great taste!

  • I just listened to this song and at the end the noise from sirens came from outside, CREEPY!

  • love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing song from an amazing album. "Love It To Death" is the first classic Alice Cooper record. The three albums that followed it were just as good.

  • @puffyrock2 So true - I remember buying them as a kid, when you could still scare your parents with your music choices instead of amusing them. I liked our time better.

  • When disco and leisure suites were the norm. we had something different to cling to.

  • My first big concert was Alice at the Akron Rubber Bowl!

  • Alice at his best!

  • What a beautiful song. I've loved this for 35 years... in the Danger Zone

  • To me, this isnt creepy

To me, this is My Song forever

I hope they play this at my funeral :D

  • studio version the best....but youtube does no justice to lettin' this whole album ride vinyl

  • Where's Vincent Price when u need him..

  • So dig the studio version. Thanks for posting .

  • Dwight fry the coolest actor ever

  • pee on you lite weights, eat 3 hits of four way (back in the day) and play "killer". Throw some Genisis on top for good keasure.

  • My DAD

  • How can someone be so genious that he can write a song like this?

  • Marilyn Manson fans who think Marilyn Manson is so cool and original should listen to Alice Cooper and remember that not only is Alice Cooper better, but Alice Cooper is original and ... oh yes... Alice Cooper predates Marilyn Manson by almost 30 years! What would Alice Cooper sound like back then if he simply copied the music from any of the artists who were popular 30 years prior to 1971? The music of this era rules, unlike the garbage that is masquaraiding itself as "music" today.

  • You just gotta appreciate the awesomeness of this song, its pure genious. The I gotta get outta here part sends shivers up my spine!

  • @TheAussieTaco A creepy (yet awesome) memory of the Summer of 1971. I spent a mind altering afternoon painting a swarm of bats on the ceiling of a friend's attic while this album played on the record changer in the other room over and over again. The arm rest was up so the record played repeatedly with the tone arm dropping on the middle of the record right on the opening notes of THE BALLAD OF DWIGHT FRYE. What memories!

  • Thinking of you (The Black Pope)

  • 2 people were gone for 14 days and shoulda been gone for more.

  • this is one of my favorite alice cooper songs!!!!!!! first heard it on his brutal planet tour...fell in love with it..alice is a freakin genious!!!!!!!!!!

  • I must admit I prefer the Melvins version to the original. Still Alice Cooper is a fucking legend.

  • He played the hunchbacked assistant in Frankenstein, i might add. its here on you tube.

    Type in

    1931 Frankenstein.

  • @clydemdog

..I don't think you've commented enough on this video, do it again.

  • He also made a contribution to the war effort by working nights as a tool designer for Lockheed Aircraft.

  • Frye was born in Kansas. Nicknamed "The Man with the Thousand-Watt Stare" and "The Man of a Thousand Deaths", he specialized in the portrayal of mentally unbalanced characters, including his signature role, the madman Renfield in Browning's 1931 version of Dracula. Later he also played the hunchbacked assistant in the film Frankenstein.

Frye also portrayed Wilmer Cook in the original movie version of The Maltese Falcon in 1931.

  • Dwight Fry

    Birth: Feb. 22, 1899

    Death: Nov. 7, 1943

Actor. Appeared on stage and in motion pictures from the 1920s to the 1940s. Remembered chiefly as the chilling 'Renfield' in the 1931 horror classic "Dracula." He also played the part of 'Fritz' in the landmark classic "Frankenstein" that same year.

Family links: Spouse: Laura Mae Bullivant Frye Luce (1899 - 1979)* Cause of death: Heart attack

    Burial:

    Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Glendale)

  • I GOTTA GET OUTTA HERE!!

  • same with a friend of mine he took too much acid one weekend and lost his mind permanently stuck in 1977

  • History is based around narcs?.... might wanna slow down on knockin back w/ those "shrooms" a bit. Smashed your skull more than you should have huh? ok. then!.... Someday let us in on the bs. so our narrow minds won't have to deny something that's only in your mind. & yeah, I am retarded as they come. Don't confuse "pussy" or cowardess, with WISDOM enough to learn from others mistakes.

  • used to listen to this song so much, then i got into yoga and stuff

  • Dicktateer..I had to come back to this & ask Are you that out of touch w/ reality??? The brain is REALLY easy to damage! Eat enough "shrooms" & it'll make you "slow","slightly retarded" or bang your skull real hard, once or a few times, & the same could happen. Sniff too much solvent- the same. One bang, your memory is gone. Or cripple. get out of the house & take in what's happening in the world.Won't see reality at a phish concert MYAN!

  • @007dicktator No lie!! saw it for myself! Others too. he went on break from college. ate three- three inch high live mushrooms, steady for OVER a week. Blew his brains out! Maybe he was 1/2 gone to begin with...but it happened & it was even a little scary & really sad to watch. Shit does happen, whether you believe it or not. I was there!

  • @broodyart re-circuited his brain i guess

  • Makes me feel like I'm back in Mike Shuberts garage with black lites and posters smoking weed

  • Dwight fry really lose it? Old friend of mine went insane permenently from texas cow pie mushrooms, never came back, That was 35 yrs. ago. Living in a concious nightmare 24-7. God! that has to be the worst thing I could imagine happining to someone, because it does not end til' death, & that could take YEARS of living in a hallucinatory nightmare. [Before they took him away, the devil was telling him lightbulbs were evil] And he'd scream so hard he shook in rage, if someone knocked on the door.

  • @broodyart bad shit man

  • wuz here

  • before I knew his real name wasn't Alice and all the theatricality BS killer was and still is a great album

  • i remember me and my little brother (he was seven, okay?) watching my dad's alice cooper halloween special video on halloween. it was so cool but fake when he slips out of the strait jacket and strangles the nurse.

  • I'd give her back all of her playthings, even the ones I stole.

    AWSOME !!

  • .....this was done at such an early age for these guys.....truly a testament to their genius (which would be eroded considerably courtesy of the Anhueser Busch Company (can you say 'ORGANIC BRAIN DAMAGE' ?).....twenty years later Alice would give up the booze, but too late for anything as creatively pure and imaginitive as this.....sad

  • Everyone put your reaction ---> on incredible because that is what this song is.

  • try to make your way to the 3rd floor. the stairs stop. its a precarious position but where else can you go? prepubescent dreams tainted by adolescent perversions condemned to a mature abyss. and dont we still dream of autumn apples and first loves even as the years speed by as if they were weeks. hah! 10 years after the race has started you find yourself rubbing your eyes at the starting line awakening from a dream on how you'll win it all. but everyone you knew is gone and your staircase...

  • I see it every day

  • I GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE!!! *this song plays* on second thought, i might stay a little longer. =)

  • the best comment i've ever read in my life and they won't let me reply to it - CENSORSHIP!!!!! Freedom of speech here, as long as it jives or is it jibes? with popular opinion- anyway, about eating head of sister's Barbie Doll, I have an ORIGINAL in the box, wrapper intact of the Fembot series from The Bionic Woman series (deluxe model, includes "kill" button what was THAT attached to under the cover panel? where did THOSE wires lead, like in time machine, i digress

  • i like how they actually trapped alice in a tight space to get the I GOTTA GET OUTTA HERE perfect

  • I'm sorry I ate your sister's Barbi doll's skull.

  • I GOTTA GET OUT HERE!!!THIS IS A GREAT SONG AND I CAN RELATE BIENG FORCED AGAINST YOUR WILL SUCKS!!!! BUT I AM FINE...

  • @ superscsenekid64 I SOOOOOO AGREE!! This is 1 of the best examples of Alice's GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • <3 \m/\m/

  • one of the greatest chorus' ever, all these Cowell=obsessed kids should remember there are real artists out there...

  • When I was 13, I drove my parents crazy w/ alice! They could'nt grasp the concept. renfield in real life. Especially dead babies. We all knew it was about bad parents, but those were donna reed days, so he broke the "mans" mold. Buried pat boone stuff forever! But ww 2 folks were great people,we wanted change. But had respect, same today I guess.Except for the respect part.

  • I been to where this guy is comin' from...

  • Incredible - Mr. Cooper does the lead-in vocal, too. I didn't believe it till I saw him in concert. Priceless! Thank you!!!

  • This & Killer were my favourite Alice LPs. This is one of the best tracks amongst them.

  • The two that "disliked" are in white jackets! \m/

  • its so good it makes me cry blood in joy

  • One of my favorite songs!

  • You can certainly hear the influence in Marilyn Manson's earlier music only Alice is the original and therefore far superior, way ahead of his time for sure.

  • @joeydangerously

Plus, Alice Cooper just has class.

  • Best of the best Cooper at his best

  • This and Second Coming are a couple of the best songs I've ever had the pleasure of hearing...haunting and beautiful.

  • If he did this now he'd get booed off stage...

  • The hell with today's comparisons. We lived through this time, grew up, enjoyed what was given to us in late 60's and early to mid-70's. We just need to take it in, remember it, keep close to our vest as we will never really be able to share those true experiences with anyone except the memories we keep close. It will never be anywhere close to this again in our life times. I am glad I was able to say I grew up and lived during some of the best times.

  • One of the creepiest, most awesome songs ever written!

  • Alice (Vincent) has recently been quoted saying that he would rather be watching Lady GaGa than the current crop of Idol Idiots...says she's FAR more interesting.

  • it is sad that talent like alice cooper is overlooked lady ga ga?????sad!!!!!oh for all the baby-minded people, that never got put in a pychward gooooood 4 you..does not make you a bad person(more interesting then steford people......got my own opinion...

  • it is sad that talent like alice cooper is overlooked lady ga ga?????sad!!!!!

  • hell yeah been there lying in my mind the men w/ the thor was coming.....

  • xenu saves

  • Marylin Manson couldn't hold a candle to this man. Fake, wannabe, psuedo satanist....pud. This stuff was WAY before its time. Now its a clock bloom........every year its opened up and renewed to others. ORIGINAL.......

  • @cjrimmer71 wow could not have said it better, his concerts ,now that was artistic-phych!!I am glad for having had the chance to be w/ a 9 member family.....concerts I was to young!38 and whatever moves me I love it!!

  • @thecrazybitch371 Thanks. The older I get (45 now) the more I see the fake and the poser laden music industry. Rare someone comes up with a deeply felt, "one weird day in my life explained in song", I've been to the bottom and saw the light and what I learned down there is worth sharing, hurt so bad I wanted to die, broken hearted ballads like this one. This song is just great, it make one THINK and we are missing THINKERS in this nation today.

  • This song works best having just listened to "Second Coming". Love It Death through to Muscle of Love represent the best years; though the rest of that decade also provides some brilliant music.

  • LOVE IT

  • LOVE IT

  • Mommy where's daddy?

He's been gone for so long.

Do you think he'll ever come home?

  • I want to get out of here .......I WANT TO GET OUT OF HERE!!!!

  • I was 11 when this album came out. Saved up pocket money to buy it and learned the intense pleasure of completely freaking out my parents with this song Mwahahaha. As much as I still love Alice to this day, the Alice Cooper Band were something really special and will remain one of my all time favourite bands.

  • been lookin for this thanks to who put it up!!!!!

  • A little a bit of evil and insanity but so cool.

  • I made friends with a lot of people....in the Danger Zone

  • thats dwight poole, no joke.

  • I WANT TO GET OUT OF HERE!!!!

  • Fucking Brilliant. Period.

  • MOMMY WHERES DADDY?

  • Brillant!!!! Every note is perfect for this song.

  • First album I ever bought . Saved my babysitting money

  • @schneidzz Ha! I saved my lunch money. My family was pretty cool and would buy me most of the blues and rock I was obsessed with. But no way were they going to buy me an Alice Cooper record. Still one of the best shows I've ever seen. That band rocked.

  • @triplettam I missed out and never saw him live>the time I did have the chance to go, I didn't. Ended up, some goof brought in tear gas and exploded it during the show-1979? Good show to miss.

  • Thank you for the studio version. Finally

  • @Szederp Really!!!!

  • my mom was like, cant u find any Christian singers to look to as role models? and a day later ' mom, i did what u asked me to do!'

mom, 'ok, who did u find then?'

    me: 'alice cooper'

  • I saw Alice on the Muppet Show in the late seventies and was hooked at age nine my first album was From the Inside. Never knew the impact it would have in my life. Thanks Alice!

  • WOW! Alice Cooper! The 70's First heard SCHOOL"S OUT in 72.... I was totaly hooked on this band after that. Thanks for the post! This is one of thier most under appericiated songs.I used to drive my friends nuts playing this over and over on my Quadroplex stereo. With 8 track. LOL!

  • This is what i'm going through right now. DON'T TOUCH ME!

  • Hard to believe this album turns 40 this year!! released back in 1971

  • Long Live The Coop and congratulations on him getting inducted into the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame!.....He was the forerunner of rock theater and blazed the trail for all others to come after him and this was just one of my favorite (among many) Alice Cooper tunes!

  • Great song only Alice could pull off a song like this.

  • most under rated Cooper song ever made.
