The fact that the universe is vast is obvious. There is no mention of expanding universe in this verse. Any illiterate man can look at the sky and see it is vast.
"vastness" as translated in yusuf ali means literally "expanse." his translation doesn give literal meanings. the verse really says: "...we are the expanders expanse.
So what if it means expanse? Expanse is different from expanding, get a dictionary. Expanse just means that it is vast but not neccessarily expanding.
Once scientists understood that the universe was expanding, they immediately realized that it would have been smaller in the past. At some point in the past, the entire universe would have been a single point. This point, later called the big bang, was the beginning of the universe as we understand it today.

There is nothing miraculous about the quran, it just refers to an ant in the female gender. It does not state that it is a worker ant. It clearly says the he 'reached' the setting place of the sun, which ofcourse is impossible unless the sun really has a setting place which is what people in the past believed. Now we know you cannot reach the setting place of the sun because it does not have a setting place. It is not a figure of speech. The Quran even says that there is a rising place of the sun. They really believed that the sun sets and rises on earth. Read the sahih bukhari there is a verse there that says that the sun asks permission from allah to move around the earth. if the sun goes into the earth from the west & comes out from the east the quran would say it went into a hole or gap-it doesn-also-it would then rise from the west as well but the quran doesn imply that. And as I clearly stated-the sun setting was how zul qarnain VIEWED it-the place where the sun sets-obviously a sunset is only possible when someone from their location can see it set.
The prophet asked me at sunset, 'do you know where the sun GOES during sunset?'
(mohammed asked abu dhar if he knows where the sun goes during sunset indicating that he really thought that the sun sets by moving somewhere else during sunset and then comes back again during sunrise.)
I replied 'allah and his apostle know better'. He said it GOES till it prostrates itself to the throne of allah.... (so the sun sets by moving itself from through the sky and goes to the throne of allah where it prostrates (bows down) to him according to mohammad.) This is a stupid fairy tale.
again-setting & rising are descriptions for the sun as WE SEE THEM-in reality when ppl say sunset they KNOW it doesn actualli set-its a figure of speech-place where sun sets or rises is therefore based on APPEARANCE, which is how every scholar interpreted that verse in tasfir about zulqarnain's travels.
Whatever, all I know is that according to Shahih bukhari v4 b54 n421 mohammed said that the sun GOES to the throne of allah during sunset and then comes back during sunrise.
The sun appears to be setting in different places based on where you are, so if they knew that the sun did not really have a specific rising and setting place, they wouldnt have used 'the place where the sun sets' to describe a specific location.

The ant mentioned Solomon by name. This is utter nonsense. Ants do not know what people are and they do not know who Solomon is. They cannot communicate that PEOPLE are coming much less that solomon is coming. They only thing they might be able to communicate is that there is danger.

Are the hadiths really authentic? There are a lot of contradictories in them and that is enough for me to disapprove them all. You can say that I'm more towards the quran. Without refering to hadiths,anti-islamists' debates won't last long.

Until, when he reached the setting of the sun. The translation of this part of the verse does not say that Zul-Qarnain reached the place where the sun sets LITERALLY, rather it means here that Zul-Qarnain was facing the direction in which the sun is setting. The "setting of the sun," is an Arabic idiom meaning the western-most point of his expedition. However, in general, idioms should not be literally translated.

The sun appears to be setting in different places based on where you are, so if they knew that the sun did not really have a specific rising and setting place, they wouldnt have used 'the place where the sun sets' to describe a specific location. Read the verses carefully again you will notice that 'the place where the sun sets' is used to describe a specific place.

Q 51:47
'With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace.'
The fact that the universe is vast is obvious. There is no mention of expanding universe in this verse. Any illiterate man can look at the sky and see it is vast.

"vastness" as translated in yusuf ali means literally "expanse." his translation doesn give literal meanings. the verse really says: "...we are the expanders expanse.

The hadiths also say that the sun goes around the earth, exept they are much more clear about it. Yes I said only the queen was female, It was a mistake, what i should have said was the queen is the only non-sterile female.

There is nothing miraculous about the quran, it just refers to an ant in the female gender. It does not state that it is a worker ant. There are also male ants so unless the quran states what type of ant it is talking about you cant even be sure that it mentioned the right gender. Also even if it was a worker ant the quran was talking about, there is still nothing miraculous about it, they could have just guessed the right gender. I fail to see anything miraculous about this at all.

Yes I admit I made a mistake but I was NOT corrected by the Quran. The quran does not say that all worker ants are female. It does not say that that the majority of ants are female. All it does is refer to one specific ant in the female gender. That means that the ant who was talking in the quran was thought to be a female but nowhere does it say that all worker ants are female.

Please read the commentary on that same debate. Click the third or fourth link in the description of this video (you have to click more first). Zakir Naik lies MANY times in that debate. The commentary exposes his lies. He supposedly gives more than 20 verses that explain the water cycle in 'great detail' but if you actually read those verses you will find that there are no explanations or details in those verses, in fact there are errors.

if the sun caught up to the moon there'd be NO MOON!rd the verse again it talks bout the ORBIT of each body-the quran corrects an old myth that the sun & moon went aroun in the same orbit (geocentric model).67:5 is symbolic of those who think they can tell the future by looking at stars (i.e.hinduism) read the context to see this. yes ants have a complex communication system & the quran miraculously refers to the warner ant as a female as science has recently discovered!

What are you talking about? Ants communicate very simple messages through chemical signals. They cannot communicate any complex thoughts and their brain is way too small to process a complicated language. They can only communicate simple things like the location of food, and not through words like the quran says but trhough chemical signals. The warner ant is not female, only the queen is.

Ants can only share simple information with each other they cannot say things like 'solomon is coming go to your habitations.' they cannot communicate names they cannot even understand what names are. ants DO have a complex system of communication & r thought to communicate in a # of ways. This varies from species to species, some using all of them, others relying on one.Ants can relay sounds by tapping their body against a part of the nest. its equally likely that may use chemicals. bskbb knows little of science, & almos nothin bout the quran.

Idiot. The brains of ants are too underdeveloped to process a language. Even if they tap their body parts to create sounds, they can only communcate a certain amount of information. They cannot tell stories to each other like we do. You obviously not only know nothing of science but you dont even have common sense. Yes nobody can go into an ants brain and see what exactly it is thinking but we CAN study the ants brain and learn what it is capable of thinking. Ants have only 250,000 brain cells their brain is smaller than a grain of salt. They cannot think complex thoughts much less communicate them.

You have a very biased interpretation of that line. It clearly says the he 'reached' the setting place of the sun, which ofcourse is impossible unless the sun really has a setting place which is what people in the past believed. Now we know you cannot reach the setting place of the sun because it does not have a setting place. No matter how westward you go you will never find the setting place of the sun which is described in the quran.

It is not a figure of speech. The Quran even says that there is a rising place of the sun. They really believed that the sun sets and rises on earth. Read the sahih bukhari there is a verse there that says that the sun asks permission from allah to move around the earth. The verse is in the video I made but the letters are small in that frame so view it on fullscreen.

if the sun goes into the earth from the west & comes out from the east the quran would say it went into a hole or gap-it doesn-also-it would then rise from the west as well but the quran doesn imply that. And as I clearly stated-the sun setting was how zul qarnain VIEWED it-the place where the sun sets-obviously a sunset is only possible when someone from their location can see it set.

The prophet asked me at sunset, 'do you know where the sun GOES during sunset?'
(mohammed asked abu dhar if he knows where the sun goes during sunset indicating that he really thought that the sun sets by moving somewhere else during sunset and then comes back again during sunrise.)
