I just saw your previous video. I understand about the need for new caps. Perhaps that's all it needs to to play with that hum-free robust bass just like back in the days.
nice well if you remeember where you got it from and if its not an arm and a leg for it(lol) just email me the link.the unit i have is a beauty works 100 percent all original and i paid 25 for it and a westinghouse that needs electronic restoration.
thanks ans again awesome vid they need more like this one on youtube
nice chasis hey i saw you mentioned model 45 changer do you know how to fix the cartridge in a 1949 55u? my cartridge wont play prob bc of the infamous issues with the rochelle salt.
To fit a bigger speaker in a smaller space. Plus it's easier to service and build that way too. This design has been used pretty much since portable radios were invented I think.

@411Soulman1 Yep, I have an updated video of it after restoration in my uploads. After new caps and a new cartridge, it sounded fantastic.

OMG, I bet that thing will put a nice robust BASS tone! I would guess the output tubes to be either 6V6, 25V6 or 50V6. Are one of those right?

@volvo740man1980 I bought a replacement cartridge, but I can't remember where. I have a video up of when I tested it out.

Looks more substantial than the Decca/RCA unit we repaired....does it have 2 35L6 output tubes?

Yes. And I managed to find the schematic finally... Looks like it is configured as push-pull as well. I can't wait to hear it!
