而且張不是先以歌唱紅韓國的。先由‘倩女幽魂’這部電影爆紅以後­，他的歌也隨之被引進到韓國。 當初韓國人非常訝異， 因為他們刻板印象當中的華人歌都是上海老歌那種類型的。但是哥哥­的粵語歌卻是非常現代化了的。當時很多韓國人都覺得說原來中文歌­也有這麼適合年輕人聽的 --（因為我也是韓國人，記得一清二楚）之後的‘英雄本色’，‘­霸王別姬’都是爆紅到不行。張國榮真的是當時韓國人瞭解華人文化­的一扇窗戶也不為過。
