Hank captured the feeling of the Nirvana song. III does awesome covers like Nirvana, Ministry and Melvins. I loved watching him do Honey Bucket live. He covers a lot ground in his live shows if you stick around for the whole thing.
Aw shit, he got the lyrics all awry and wrong. Here they are, correctly. I like Hank III, but he butchered this classic. Come on over. Do the twist Overdo it and have a fit Love you so much, it makes me sick Come on over, and do the twist Beat me outta me, (beat it, beat it) (x8) Come on over. Do the twist Over do it, and have a fit Come on over, and shoot the shit Love you so much, it makes me sick beat me outta me, (beat it, beat it)(x8) She keeps it pumpin' straight to my heart (x8)
@SalandFindles Fuckin' over technical lyric geek. Do you know anything about Kurt Cobain? He fucked his own lyrics up more than got em right. Quit fuckin' obsessing over the words and enjoy the music. Real, from the soul music doesn't follow any scripts or formula. That's why book smart geeks and musical perfectionists produce boring droll where real fuckin' artists play it straight out of their tortured hearts. Yeah, Most artists are depressed..."beat me outta me" and you cry about lyrics.
He never got these lyrics wrong live. I used to sit and watch Nirvana nonstop for years it seemed. I am not a Nirvana expert exactly, but I know a damn good bit about that whole subject. He didn't mess up his lyrics THAT much as you make it sound like. Trust me.
Also, one more thing. This song is about ODing on heroin. "Love you so much, it makes me sick" means he loves it so much that it makes him sick when he can't get it. Dope sick, fiending. "She keeps it pumpin' straight to my heart" means a shot of adrenaline. "Beat me outta me" is pretty much the same meaning there.
Insult or what? I'm very proud to be a nerd. I know a good deal about computers. That's how I take it when you call me a nerd. So, thanks for the compliment. You're 4 months late replying, btw.
Excellent cover for Shelton, but he missed some of the words. Damn. It's the second verse, not the same as the first. Oh well, Hank III lives, and Cobain moulders in his grave. Ce la vie. And we're all damn lucky on that count.
@beerme63074 Yep but if he was alive i think they would sound fucking great together. I mean kurt was into old blues.folk.country etc before he died. Damn good cover though.
Jesus enough with your four hours of worthless title graphics.

Man, I used to not be able to stand nirvana (The only band our ex rhythm guitarist listened to, and would only play)
After playing this song at our bluefest, i was done, but you know, it's been half a year >_>.. should start listening again lol
