  • "I've lived my life by the book."

Yes. The book of lying, sneaking out, drinking, going to Baltimore, and disobeying lol.

  • MMMMM BOYYYYYY!!

  • Vanessa just wanted to add drama by announcing her engagement so late. Which is why the minute she didnt want to get married once they gave their approval

  • love Sondar's observation: "the stone's missing"

  • @wonderbutterfly3 ikr? i wuz laughing really hard :D

  • i really wanted Clair to tear into her!!! lol

  • I just watched 3 episodes straight where Vanessa says " Mom...I'm Sorrry!"

  • I realized that Nelson and Olivia had more lines than Rudy oh i liked that Clair and Vanessa scene Clair told Vanessa like it is GO Clair <3

  • Vanessa's made good decisions all her life? What about that time she and her friends snuck off to Maryland to see the Wretches?

  • Dabnis says he met Vanessa a year ago which means she was under 18 while the guy was already a grown up adult en route to his 30's. In a lot of countries, an adult who has sex with an underage kid goes to jail straight away even though the kid gave her consent to the adult for having sex with him. PLain creepy! Ewwwwwwww...

  • @famouspostmortem no one ever said they had sex. They just met a year ago.

  • Cliff: you own your own house?

    Dabnis: yes sir.

Cliff: g-get the gentleman some coffee!

  • I don't know if anyone else felt like this but I thought that Cliff and Clair were being a little rude towards Dabnis.

  • @blmts5 You must have missed cliff's bit about the steak served on the trash can lid.

  • @blmts5 I disagree. Cliff and Claire were very reasonable with they way they responded towards Dabnis. Cliff gave the perfect example when he talked about the garbage can lid. He was absolutely right.

  • Sandra: Vanessa you live on the second floor

Vanessa: We could've ran out of air Sandra, there's a lot of ways to die!

    Cliff: You got that right....

    LMFAO!!!! omg

  • Sandra : The stone is missing hahaha

  • Sandra: Oh Vanessa is that your ring?

    Vanessa: Yes it is!

    Sandra: The stone is missing!!!!!

Classic, LMBO!!! ha ha ha ha

  • awww Nelson is so cute.

  • did anyone realize that bill in this episode has a cock eye? HIs left eye is like kinda small

  • "we just created a hotline for dysfunctional families"

     "..........."

  • "You own your own property?"

    "Yessir."

"Get the gentlement some coffee." LOL

  • "You'll just have to forgive us because we just don't like you." lol He just laid it right out there for him. And the garbage can lid analogy was perfect. The way Vanessa just dropped him on everyone wasn't fair to Dabnice.

  • When Dr. Huxtable goes in one of his long stories, Theo, Sandra, Alvin & the kids all leave the table. I know I'd leave the table too!

  • Yea, she's(Vanessa) made good decisions alright! From lying to her parents to sneaking all the to Baltimore to see a concert. Now she's engaged to Dabnis, big mistake!

  • take the pi dabness hahaha

  • 1:50 to 2:18 Adorable. Nelson is just too cute! :)

  • damn im in the mood for steak and potatoes now!

  • "It's so good that you had to keep it a secret from your parents for six months!"

Umm, didn't Denise return from Africa with a husband and didn't tell Cliff and Clair until after the deed was done? At least Vanessa is telling them before she ties the knot.

  • I actually think Dabnis seemed like a stand up guy. The huxtables didnt like him because of Vanessa. I think thats a shame. Vanessa was always my least favorite character.

  • get the gentleman some coffee

  • one thing about...the Huxtable girls managed to hook some good men lol

  • 2:25 "maitenance game" :D that was mean

  • another beautiful methaphor by Dr. Huxtable!

  • iDon't Care How Annoyinq&Stupid Everyone Thinks Vanessa Is, iStill Love Her !

  • uh huh vanessa may i see yew in the kitchen plz........... classic claire!!!!! wooo!!!!!!!

  • @peachezzz2010 Lmaoooo

  • Does elvin and nelson have a ponytail?

  • @Jadejamila yea... weird rite?? i dont like it personally.

  • I don't like how they look down to him.

  • @xvegansxex they don't look down on him. They just don't like how vanessa suddenly say she's engage to him.

  • @xvegansxex looks like you didn't understand the storyline

  • @xvegansxex me too

  • take the pie dabnis...lolx

  • "I guess that's family's gonna be the first to call Theo's hot line now LOL!"

"Get the gentlemen some coffee!" LMAO!!

  • "You'll just have to forgive us because we just don't like you!" HAHA OUCH!!

"You could, right now, sitting there, be a banker and we would not like you AT ALL!" LMAO!!!!

  • 'Would you clarify for me...'

  • lol 'Vanessa is that your ring? The stone's missing' :D

  • @cutefifsta hahaha...awkward...xD

  • aaww Nelson is too cute. looks like a mini Elvin

  • Cliff: "You OWN your own house?"

    Dabness: "Yes, sir."

Cliff: "Get the man some coffee."

Oh, how I love this show. (:

  • take the pie dabnes

  • Now get the man some coffee!

  • I have to agree with some of these comments,my first impression was that they where very rude and judgemental to a person that came into their house with love for their daughter and respect for the parents,he came with the best intentions, and no matter how much wisdom you posses or forsee disaster in the future,as a parent be wise enough to be a suportive person in your childs life when it comes to matters of the heart no matter what the outcome, its her choice, her life (unless it inv. abuse)

  • @AprilJuneMae The way that Vanessa brought him and their relationship into the house made it tough for them to accept him right out...i found their reaction unfortunate but totally understandable

  • I always felt that Clair and Cliff were a little rude to Dabness, and in the episode "The Iceman Bricketh", Clair admits they were rude. But I understood what Cliff was saying. Vanessa was wrong. She should have told them about him in the beginning regardless the way she felt how her parents would accept Dabness. You want to get started off on the right foot, then do it right. Not ass backwards, and that's exactly what she did. Then again, this was Vanessa we're talking about lol.

  • I don't think it was for attention or any of that, Vanessa got caught up in the moment, and later on, you can tell she wasn't fully ready to get married to him. Their relationship as far as his employment, or age difference had nothing to do wth it.

  • @piggygurl44

True. Because with time Cliff really likes Dabness.

When Venessa and Dabness break up, Cliff doesn't want Dabness to go.

I though that was so cute ^^

  • @KherbieL Its funny how they all got up when he said he was going to tell them a "little story" lol. Because in past episodes, sometimes Cliff's stories can run a little long, and doesn't make any sense. But it made perfect sense in this one lol. But your right, I think it was too cute when he didn't want Dabness to go.

  • "Take the pie Dabness.." throught clenched teeth.

    lol, teo is hillarious!

  • lets review some of vanessa's good decisions:

trying to lie to her parents to go on a date

    breaking curfew on a date

lying to her parents and getting drunk at a friends house

lying to her parents to go to baltimore with her friends

vanessa, i dont know why more parents dont pray 'please, oh please may our daughter become like her'

  • @LuvRemyanJack That's what I'm thinking. Her parents shouldn't be surprised.

  • @LuvRemyanJack: well put. and also when her mother said no makeup til 15, when she wore at 13 and the whole thing with "The Lipsticks" and the outfit she put on.

    Breakdown of Vanessa:

    Season 1: Annoying

Seasons 2-4: Matures little by little, squeaky clean

Seasons 5-end: sheds squeaky clean image, becomes rebellious leading into stupid.

  • @islandblader

I personally thought she was pretty funny in season 1. some of her lines killed me. especially how she was going on about wanting a dog. I could relate tothat.

  • @islandblader And let's not forget, she could be very selfish too.

  • sandra is such a killjoy lmao

  • "Vanessa I don't give a flying fig about Barbra and Phillys and Winky twinky and Dinky!!!! So funny!! lol!

  • Vanessa has NOT made good decisions her entire life...what about the wretched?!?!

  • @ddean1987 And There was her Drinking game with friends LOL

  • "We just created a hotline for dysfunctional families."

*Mental Facepalm* Hahah I love Theo!

  • Well, Dabnis isn't NECESSARILY too old for Vanessa. There are plenty of happy couples whose ages are quite different -- it just depends on who you are. I dated a 33-year-old guy when I was 19, and we're married now (happily, and this is five years later).

On a different note, why does Nelson have that same funky rattail that Elvin has going on? Elvin needs to not inflict his bad hairstyles on his son.

  • @chieftainette I agree about the age difference. My husband is thirteen years older than I am, and we have been married almost three years and are as close as two people can get. Age doesn't always matter. It really depends on the people.

What bugs me about this episode is how they look down on Dabnis for being a maintenance man. There is nothing wrong with being a blue collar guy. I do like that they made him a homeowner at the end. None of the other guys on the show could say that!

  • @rivermoonrise That's the same age difference I have with my husband. Congrats on your age-discrepant yet happy relationship! :-)

  • @rivermoonrise

I don't think it's because of the age difference or his job, as Cliff states later...

it's the way she presented him. She just dropped it like a bomb and introduced him at the last minute. She didn't have the common curtousy to tell her parents. Regardless of the age or career- any parent would be pretty PO'd about that.

  • omg i love cliff "we just don't like you. You could be a doctor or a lawyer and we STILL wouldn't like u."

    LMAO

  • omg this is the most awkward dinner ever lmao @vanessa....dabnis is too damn old

  • The twins are so cute

  • "that's the way she brought you here...on a garbage can lid!" I love it!
