Bigger then music... Most people today claim that it's just entertainment yet they fail to realize that it influences the way the dress, act, look etc...The music I grew up on wasn't just entertainment, it paved the way for me to live my life accordingly, therefore hip hop is a lifestyle and not some quick scheme to feed garbage to unsuspecting teens in hopes of getting rich while brainwashing them in the process in hopes of them worshipping their satanic and false ideals. This is real Hip Hop.
this is what rap was all about . the baddest female ever and dont have to show there ass to sell a record.the mans rappers rapping w/o a pen and paper this was the best time.................now its just bull shi........t.
This song made me tear up because it was during a time when popular Hip Hop was actually trying to change lives for the better. Instead of being uplifted people sel-distructed
its amazing with the mentality of krs1. a real brother who's main concern is our brothers and sisters of the black community. using a rap song to express how he feels and to gain the attention of us all. this is from the late 80's and we still dont get it. the rap community today relies on sex, money, drugs and gang banging.our kids of today adheres to this lifestyle which is causing the self destruction we endeavor today.
exactly. im a white boy and i like this shit. modern hip hop is just crap. songs sound alright but its annoying when every songs about gangbanging and hoes
the most valuable and inspiring lyric in this song for us as black people is simply " back in the 60's our brothers and sisters were hanged how can you gang bang? i never ever ran from the klu klux klan so i should have to run from a black man. stop the violence.
krs one is a true dedicated bother of society and his people, yet this song was written in the late eighties and we still dont get it. violence is worse that it ever has been. he is trying to help black people get themselves together through rap music but today is all sex and violence, and our kids of today embrace it with profuse and this leads to major self destrucution of the black community.the best in this song is "back in the day our sister and brothers were hanged how can u gang bang"
This video came to South AFrica during the dying years of apartheid and it brought message home! We need more of this for all youth connected to AfriKa in anyway or form.
